HOUDINI MISS has solid claims having shown a big improvement at Southwell on her nursery debut. Beaten only a neck on that occasion, the daughter of Starman looks on a workable mark with first-time cheekpieces bringing the possibility of further progress. Project Incheon led for a long way in maiden at Newcastle before fading in the closing stages and may settle better having been subsequently gelded, while Maynora drops in trip with a shout.

Fanjove looks a likely big improver upped in trip for his nursery debut but MALINGA THE SLINGA can benefit from a drop in trip.

Ralph Beckett won this with the subsequent Sussex Stakes hero Qirat in 2023 and TIERRA DEL TORO arrives with every chance. The son of Lope De Vega caught the eye in a decent novice race at Southwell, finishing with a late flourish to take second, and looks capable of winning at this level on that evidence. Luzon Heights would have finished closer at Haydock with clear run and is going the right way, while the newcomer Augustus Gloop is worth a second look.

This can go to TIERRA DEL TORO who should take plenty of beating after making a promising debut at Southwell recently.

There is little between fourth-placed Chapter and Robert Anstruther (fifth) on last month's running at Sandown. The former is taken to confirm superiority, but a chance is taken on MOGBBEL. The latter took a step forward when fourth in maiden company at Ffos Las and offers the prospect of further improvement representing Owen Burrows' in-form yard. Elashgar is a half-brother to a Group 3 winner and is a newcomer to note.

Elashgar is interesting on debut but MOGBBEL, who ran well at Ffos Las last time, is taken to get off the mark.

A confident vote goes to LOBLOLLY. Sean Woods' colt finished a narrow second to a rival that has since been given an opening mark of 91, whilst conceding 2lb, at Chelmsford last time out. Pitched into nurseries from what could be a lenient mark, he can open his account. Royal Bodyguard kept on into third over 7f at Newmarket latest so a step up to the mile is likely to suit, while Steel Drum appeals most of the remaining duo.

Royal Bodyguard is respected but STEEL DRUM shaped well on his handicap debut before encountering heavy ground at Goodwood.

Returning to an artificial surface was of clear benefit to RUN WITH IT, who ultimately recorded a comfortable success at Wolverhampton recently. Both of his career wins have been on the Tapeta but switching to Polytrack shouldn't be an issue and, if that is the case, a 6lb penalty should not prevent another big run. Rhapsody switches to handicaps having struggled in a couple of Listed events and should not be underestimated, along with Newcastle runner-up Rogue Encore.

Ralph Beckett's RUN WITH IT (nap) got back on the up when scoring at Wolverhampton and is taken to defy a 6lb penalty here.

Second on both of her starts to date, including when a short-priced favourite at Windsor latest, FINALISE can belatedly break her maiden tag. The daughter of Masar has done little wrong so far and stepping up to 1m4f could hold the key to her. Gnomon (second) finished ahead of The Bellhop (third) at Lingfield last month and is fancied to confirm his superiority over that rival, while market support for the returning Shrimp Shady, who won at Windsor when last seen in September, would be noteworthy.

An absence and a penalty are potential stumbling blocks for SHRIMP SHADY but he has the strongest form and this trip should suit well.

The combination of a wind procedure and switch to handicaps worked the oracle for I'M WORKIN ON IT, who opened his account over C&D a fortnight ago in ready fashion. Rod Millman's charge scored with enough in hand to suggest that an 8lb rise from the assessor is workable and he's taken to follow up. Reopposing runner-up Token Gesture is 7lb better off with the selection and is feared most, ahead of stable debutant Happy To Fly.

I'm Workin On It is second choice having won well over C&D last time but a chance is taken on SOLDIERS STAR on his return to AW.

The application of first-time blinkers saw an improved bid from AMOR CORDIS when finishing third at Brighton last month. The son of Havana Gold makes plenty of appeal racing off an unchanged mark and a breakthrough victory may beckon. Having shaped encouragingly on his latest third over C&D, Lexington Jet is a feasible alternative, while Moby Quick should prove more competitive reverting to a sounder surface.

Silca Bay has posted his two best efforts here and is respected but TAKTEEK is preferred now dropping down to 7f.
Ths is the racecard key.
