1st (2) (4/1 -33%)Hot To Go |
4/1(-33%) | (2) Hot To Go 4/1, Too free in front and found nothing when well beaten in a novice hurdle over 2m1f at Newton Abbot last time. More to come under rules when settling. Second in an Irish point but disappointing favourite on hurdles debut; better expected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (25/1 -56%)Lady Dapple Rose |
25/1(-56%) | (5) Lady Dapple Rose 25/1, Ran to form but was comfortably held in a mares' bumper over 2m1f at Aintree last time. Drops in grade for hurdle debut and not dismissed. Fair form in bumpers (fifth at Aintree last time); no easy task on hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (2/1 -67%)Maccarellu |
2/1(-67%) | (3) Maccarellu 2/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 2l in a 4yo hurdle over 2m2f at Compiegne latest. Returning from a long layoff, effective over 2-2¼m and suited by plenty of cut; generally consistent in France, yard does well with similar types. Ex-French Flat winner; showed promise in 6 runs over hurdles; interesting on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/11 +60%)Patrimonio |
10/11(+60%) | (4) Patrimonio 10/11, Showed promise when runner-up, beaten a length in a maiden over 3m at Castletown-Geoghegan on only start. Has plenty to find here. £80,000 buy after Irish point second in April; interesting on stable/hurdles debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

MACCARELLU recorded some useful form when racing in France and this could prove a suitable opportunity for him to make a winning stable bow. Venetia Williams' gelding has already proved himself in testing conditions and is taken to repel chief threat Patrimonio. The four-year-old fetched 80,000 pounds after finishing second in an Irish point-to-point and market support would be interesting. Hot To Go may fare best of the remainder.

The choice is MACCARELLU, who is more exposed than his rivals, but showed a fair level of form in his six runs over hurdles in France

1st (6) (5/2 +90%)Jewel Eyed Judy |
5/2(+90%) | (6) Jewel Eyed Judy 5/2, Pulled up in a 3m handicap hurdle at Southwell last time; still among the contenders if putting that run behind her. 0-7; ordinary form so far, including in three handicaps; from a top yard; better expected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/2 0%)Jukebox D'eddy |
7/2(0%) | (5) Jukebox D'eddy 7/2, Ran to form when beaten a neck off a mark of 73 over 3m at Warwick last time; arrives in form and should be thereabouts. Runner-up on last three starts, last twice over fences; conditions suit; each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/1 +38%)Welcheston Warrier |
10/1(+38%) | (1) Welcheston Warrier 10/1, Travelled well but still showed signs of greenness and found little up in trip on handicap debut when finishing down the field in a 2m6f handicap hurdle at Stratford; returning from a long layoff; has a chance. Fair sixth on hurdles debut; modest efforts since; handicap debut; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/2 +30%)Arctic Saint |
7/2(+30%) | (2) Arctic Saint 7/2, Looked in need of further when comfortably held in a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time; returning from a long layoff; likely to appreciate a longer trip. Ex-Irish; exposed; fair fifth at Chepstow in February on latest start; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (18/1 -700%)Mind Hunter |
18/1(-700%) | (7) Mind Hunter 18/1, Ran to form when finishing 5l third in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Exeter most recently; effective between 2m and 3m but inconsistent in both codes. Exposed hurdler; only win was over 2m1f on good: fair form recently; ground a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (5/1 +50%)Goguenard |
5/1(+50%) | (4) Goguenard 5/1, Below form after making too much use of himself when down the field in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Ffos Las most recently; remains progressive. Mudlark; won 3 times in 2024; bit disappointing last term; on a fair mark; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (15/2 +6%)Martalmix'jac |
15/2(+6%) | (3) Martalmix'jac 15/2, Below form when comfortably held in a 3m handicap chase at Hexham last time; good mark on chase form and likes the track. First run over hurdles for three years having won twice over fences; has since had wind op. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having posted creditable efforts in defeat at Uttoxeter and Exeter, Mind Hunter is likely to be at the forefront of the market given the question marks surrounding most of his rivals. However, he may prefer quicker ground conditions and could be worth taking on with ARCTIC SAINT. Deborah Cole's inmate finished third in last year's renewal, and the reapplication of cheekpieces could eke out the necessary improvement. Jukebox D'eddy is the pick of the remainder.

These conditions are ideal for GOGUENARD who is taken to win his first race since March 2024. Arctic Saint is his main danger.

1st (3) (4/1 +27%)Manganese |
4/1(+27%) | (3) Manganese 4/1, Promising effort when a length winner in a juvenile bumper over 12f at Vittel on debut; returns from a break and appeals on balance of form. A one length winner of a 1m4f French bumper on good to soft in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (1/4 -50%)Trad Jazz |
1/4(-50%) | (5) Trad Jazz 1/4, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 3l, in the Height Of Fashion Stakes (Listed) over 10f at Goodwood latest; yard does well with similar types; likely type on rules debut. Talented Flat performer after just four races; this ground is a complete unknown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (33/1 +18%)Emily Rebecca |
33/1(+18%) | (2) Emily Rebecca 33/1, Modest debut when comfortably held in a mares' hurdle at Hereford last time; multiple Flat winner with all to prove over hurdles. Left Richard Hannon for 2,000gns; didn't show much at all last week at Hereford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (20/1 +0%)Cantalice |
20/1(+0%) | (1) Cantalice 20/1, Perhaps not suited by the ground when beaten 9l in a handicap over 1m6f at Redcar last time; has plenty to find switched to hurdling. Minor Flat form in four races (1m3f-1m6f) for Marco Botti and was sold on for 3,000gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (40/1 +20%)Rosso Levanto |
40/1(+20%) | (4) Rosso Levanto 40/1, Unseated in a juvenile hurdle at Ludlow last time; trainer in form but poor on the Flat and with much to prove over hurdles. Limited Flat maiden who was 50-1 and tailed off when unseating at Ludlow 11 days ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Manganese ran out a ready winner on her debut in France and it will be interesting to see if she attracts support in the market on her UK/stable bow. However, TRAD JAZZ was a decent sort on the level during the spring and she could have too much toe for these rivals. James Owen's filly was last seen finishing a respectable fourth in a Listed event at Goodwood and holds obvious claims. Emily Rebecca may fare best of the remainder.

Manganese commands respect but TRAD JAZZ should be taking care of these, provided she handles conditions.

1st (2) (3/1 +73%)Sophie Power |
3/1(+73%) | (2) Sophie Power 3/1, Made mistakes and failed to find much when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Effective at 2m and handles soft ground. Currently in moderate form, and her mark looks on the high side. Ex-French; 1m4f Flat winner; modest over hurdles, including on h'cap debut; bit to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/2 -127%)Little Venice |
5/2(-127%) | (4) Little Venice 5/2, Improved slightly when beaten 3l off a mark of 86 at Uttoxeter last time. Usually held up and effective at 2m on good to soft ground. Can do better in handicaps judged on her Flat form and is still improving. 1m2f Flat winner; best hurdles run when second in Uttoxeter h'cap last time; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (13/8 +41%)Kupka Vallis |
13/8(+41%) | (3) Kupka Vallis 13/8, Below form and given a suspect ride when fourth, beaten 18l, in a novice hurdle over 1m7f at Wincanton on her latest run. Returning from a long layoff but looks the pick on the balance of her form. Unexposed; best run when fourth in Wincanton mares' novice in March; chance on that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/1 -144%)Voodoo Angel |
11/1(-144%) | (1) Voodoo Angel 11/1, Stopped quickly when third, beaten 39l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m6f at Exeter on her most recent start. Cheekpieces on for the first time. Effective at 2m4f on good ground but has yet to build on a promising Irish debut. Ex-Irish; second in a mares' maiden in May; below-par since; headgear tried on h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (25/1 +24%)She's A Woman |
25/1(+24%) | (6) She's A Woman 25/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Worcester on her latest start. Wears a hood for the first time and returns from a break. Yet to show any ability over hurdles. Modest form so far; hood tried but stiff task from 7lb out of the handicap.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (9/1 +78%)Nancy Till |
9/1(+78%) | (5) Nancy Till 9/1, Fell early in a handicap chase over 2m4f here on her latest outing. Returning from a long layoff and usually held up. Needs to show more to figure. Fair form in two Irish points; 0-10 under rules; plenty to find on recent form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With a few having something to prove, it looks best to side with LITTLE VENICE, who is able to compete from an unchanged mark having struck the woodwork at Uttoxeter. Neil Mulholland's filly won't need much more to break her hurdling duck, although nor will Voodoo Angel, who could benefit from the application of first-time cheekpieces. Kupka Vallis completes the shortlist.

Although KUPKA VALLIS lacks a recent run she could be well treated for her handicap debut after an improved run at Wincanton last time.

1st (3) (13/8 +13%)Kicour La |
13/8(+13%) | (3) Kicour La 13/8, Runner-up beaten 1/2l in a 3m maiden at Lisronagh on only start. Trainer in form and returns from a long layoff. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time and looks a feasible threat. Point runner-up who makes rules debut with new yard in fine form; could have part to play. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/6 -46%)Island Bridge |
5/6(-46%) | (1) Island Bridge 5/6, Promising hurdle debut, flattening out late when fourth beaten 18l in a 3m novice hurdle at Cheltenham last time. Effective at 3m and acts on good ground. Likely to win soon now dropped in grade. Fourth of 13 in warm Cheltenham novice on hurdle debut and he's a leading candidate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/1 +65%)Arcadian Star |
7/1(+65%) | (5) Arcadian Star 7/1, Needed the run when well beaten on hurdle debut in a 2m novice at Chepstow. Effective at 2m on good to soft and has solid bumper form, though more is required to feature over hurdles. Hint of promise in sole bumper but well beaten at 28-1 on last month's hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (33/1 -106%)Our Bobby Dazzler |
33/1(-106%) | (4) Our Bobby Dazzler 33/1, Ran to form but was comfortably held in a 2m maiden bumper at Hereford last time. Has a lot to find at this level. Soundly beaten in both bumpers but the step up in trip should suit on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (40/1 +0%)Jaja Jimmy |
40/1(+0%) | (2) Jaja Jimmy 40/1, Unseated rider in a 2m novice hurdle at Chepstow last time. Proven over 2m with cut in bumpers but needs to show more to figure over hurdles. On the retreat when hampered/unseating three out on hurdle debut, but each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (200/1 -100%)This Sway |
200/1(-100%) | (6) This Sway 200/1, Pulled up in a 2m maiden hurdle at Newbury last time. Up against it judged on both bumper and hurdle form. Pulled up at 300-1 on recent hurdle debut at Newbury. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Despite finishing a well-held fourth on his hurdling bow at Cheltenham last month, this will be much less taxing for ISLAND BRIDGE. The five-year-old ought to relish testing conditions, given that his point win came on heavy ground, and natural improvement may suffice. Kicour La finished second between the flags in February and is of interest on this Rules bow, while Our Bobby Dazzler is worth some thought.

Preference is for ISLAND BRIDGE, who ran well for a long way in a warm 3m novice on last month's hurdle debut at Cheltenham.

11/4(+39%) | (1) Kamaxos 11/4, Pulled up in a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Fontwell last time; this is his second run after wind surgery. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground, though form has been mixed since returning from a layoff. Ex-Roger Teal; easy win early in 2024; out of sorts last term; pulled up on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (15/2 +0%)Swinging London |
15/2(+0%) | (4) Swinging London 15/2, Won by a short head off 65 over 12f at Newcastle two starts ago, then ran to form when fourth, beaten 6 1/2l, off 69 last time. Effective over 12–14f on the Flat; form tailed off during the summer. Won a maiden hurdle in February 2022; some fair form since; better known as AW Flat winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (4/1 +43%)Snapius |
4/1(+43%) | (3) Snapius 4/1, Probably failed to stay when fourth, beaten 16l, in a 2m2f handicap hurdle at Fontwell last time. Consistent performer overall. Won off 4lb lower last December; several good runs since; conditions suit; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (80/1 -700%)Love Me |
80/1(-700%) | (2) Love Me 80/1, Below form when finishing down the field in a 2m2f handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan most recently. Wears a hood for the first time and has a bit to find. Navan winner in November 2024; not as good since; cost £5,500; hood tried on yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/4 +47%)Wise Guy |
7/4(+47%) | (6) Wise Guy 7/4, Needed the run when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Effective at 2m and suited by plenty of cut; was in fair form before latest and could bounce back from this mark. Two wins in 2024; back on a good mark, goes on heavy ground and is one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (8/1 -60%)Wind Your Neck In |
8/1(-60%) | (5) Wind Your Neck In 8/1, A bit free but ran roughly to form when 9l third in a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Sedgefield last time. Effective at 2m and acts on any ground; jumping has been an issue early in career but mark looks fair and will handle the ground. Has won three Flat races; yet to score over hurdles, but fair runs last twice; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/1 -120%)Kalkaroo |
11/1(-120%) | (7) Kalkaroo 11/1, Progressing over hurdles, winning a 2m2f maiden hurdle at Fontwell by 7 1/2l last time. Returning from a long absence but not without a chance. Unexposed; won maiden hurdle in August 2024; absent since; testing ground a concern. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WISE GUY failed to live up to market expectations on his return at Ffos Las recently, but that effort may be worth forgiving. Stuart Edmunds' gelding has been eased 2lb in the handicap, meaning he is now 10lb lower than when a beaten favourite in this contest 12 months ago. With that in mind, he could go close. Kalkaroo and Snapius are feared most.

This can go to WISE GUY (nap), who is on a good mark, goes well on testing ground and will be all the better for his reappearance run.
Ths is the racecard key.
