11/1(-120%) | (11) Ole Ole 11/1, Ran to form when second beaten a length in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time; effective at 2m on soft ground; ex-French recruit for a top yard with likely further improvement. In close pursuit of Manoir De Mirande when that one came down at the last at Cork. |

3rd (10) (7/2 +59%)Munsif |
7/2(+59%) | (10) Munsif 7/2, Had too much to do and looked to need a stiffer test when beaten 6l in a handicap at Newmarket last time; off a short break; useful handicapper over middle distances on flat in UK; likely type. Went 3-6 for Roger Varian, showing smart form (1m4f); purchased for 120,000gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (28/1 +15%)Bartholomew |
28/1(+15%) | (1) Bartholomew 28/1, Had every chance and ran to form when beaten 6 1/4l in a maiden at The Curragh last time; consistent on flat; off a short break and market can guide on hurdle debut. Ability in three middle-distance maidens but this still looks a big ask on hurdling debut. |

14/1(+50%) | (4) Deep Water Bay 14/1, Last year's winning yard; ran to form when second beaten 5l in a handicap at Goodwood last time; hugely progressive stayer in UK; enjoys making the running and returns from a break; looks a threat on hurdle debut. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

50/1(-150%) | (20) Searcog 50/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 11l in a maiden hurdle at Navan last time; effective at 2m on heavy ground; improvement is possible but required. Plied trade at a low level on the Flat but has fared surprisingly well in maiden hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

16/1(+36%) | (19) Michonne 16/1, Ran to form when winning a handicap at Chantilly by 2l last time; progressive over middle to staying trips on flat in France; likely type on hurdle debut. Two wins for a top French Flat yard and was recruited for 185,000euros. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

80/1(-344%) | (6) Genealogy 80/1, Ran to form when well beaten in a handicap here last time; 1m flat winner for top yard; off a short break and worth a market check on hurdle debut. Maiden winner for Aidan O'Brien but lost his way and sold on for 18,000gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (25/1 -213%)Kizlyar |
25/1(-213%) | (8) Kizlyar 25/1, From a yard that has won two of the last ten renewals; made mistakes but showed promise on debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time; effective at 2m on soft ground; showed useful Flat form in France and could improve for a top stable. 1m6f winner in France; let down by his jumping at Cork, though the ground was testing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (14) (50/1 +0%)Wolfpack |
50/1(+0%) | (14) Wolfpack 50/1, From last year's winning stable; disappointed when stepped up in trip and finished down the field in a handicap at Newbury last time; returning from a break and 1m flat winner needs to find plenty on hurdle debut. Won a 1m novice for James Ferguson but well beaten in two handicaps for that yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (11/4 +54%)Dead Cert |
11/4(+54%) | (3) Dead Cert 11/4, Yard has won two of the last five runnings; fell in a juvenile hurdle at Auteuil last time when booked for midfield and returns from a long layoff; effective at 2m on soft ground, previously showed minor promise in France and now with a top yard, more to come. Trained by Willie Mullins when falling late on at Auteuil in March; showed ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (17) (10/3 -48%)Dschingis Desire |
10/3(-48%) | (17) Dschingis Desire 10/3, Yard has won two of the last five runnings; very promising debut when a neck winner in a 3yo race at Argentan; much more to come now hurdling for top yard; strong contender. Emerged from off the pace to win a 1m4f soft-ground maiden in France. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (3/1 -71%)Manoir De Mirande |
3/1(-71%) | (9) Manoir De Mirande 3/1, Last year's winning yard; fell in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time; effective at 2m on soft and heavy ground; French bumper form has been franked and could make amends for an unlucky debut fall. French winner who would probably have won at Cork had he not come down late on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (150/1 +25%)Rua Mor |
150/1(+25%) | (13) Rua Mor 150/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time; usually held up; effective at 2m on good ground and arrives in good form but probably one for handicaps. Very opposable on what he's shown in one Flat run and two over hurdles; outclassed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (15) (150/1 -275%)Concert Party |
150/1(-275%) | (15) Concert Party 150/1, Outpaced and below form off a revised mark when up in class and down the field in a handicap at Newbury last time; had been in good form previously over 10f; off a short break and more needed now tackling hurdles. Dual 1m2f winner for Richard Hannon; limited appeal in a maiden of this strength. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (18) (150/1 -200%)Kashel Spring |
150/1(-200%) | (18) Kashel Spring 150/1, Ran to form when fourth beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap at Naas last time; progressive on flat; off a short break and has a bit to find. Dual Flat winner but others in here had superior form in that sphere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
16th (16) (200/1 -100%)Dream Angel |
200/1(-100%) | (16) Dream Angel 200/1, Poor debut when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last time; better suited by 1m and a sound surface; Flat winner but has plenty to prove over hurdles. Limited on the Flat and 80-1 when tailed off on hurdling debut at Punchestown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
17th (2) (200/1 +0%)Crest Of Light |
200/1(+0%) | (2) Crest Of Light 200/1, Never threatened after missing the break when well beaten in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; multiple flat winner in UK; returns from a short break and needs plenty more on hurdle debut. Dual winner at 1m but has regressed and recently changed hands for 2,400gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
18th (5) (200/1 -300%)Far Eclipse |
200/1(-300%) | (5) Far Eclipse 200/1, Showed little on debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Cork last time; effective at 2m on soft ground but inconsistent on the Flat and needs to improve over hurdles. Limited Flat maiden who finished well held on hurdling debut at Cork when 33-1. |

MANOIR DE MIRANDE won a 1m4f French bumper in decisive fashion back in April and looked set to score on his debut for current connections when falling at the last at Cork. Ole Ole was beaten a length by Glen To Glen in that race, with Kizlyar, Far Eclipse and Ray Gun all behind, and Gordon Elliott's charge can make amends. Dschingis Desire represents the same owners and was also sourced from France after winning a 1m4f maiden back in the spring. Munsif won three times on the level this year for Roger Varian and is an interesting recruit to hurdles, while Deep Water Bay, Genealogy and Kashel Spring are others switching from the Flat to keep a close eye on.

There are definite dangers but preference is for MANOIR DE MIRANDE who looked set to win when coming down late on at Cork.

1st (5) (10/11 -14%)Kargese |
10/11(-14%) | (5) Kargese 10/11, Winner of three Grade 1 races over hurdles; stable has won two of the last five runnings of this contest. Finished second, beaten 16l, in the Order Of St George Mares Novice Chase (Grade 2) at Cork last time. Effective at 2m and acts on any ground; a classy hurdler likely to improve for the reappearance. Dual Grade 1 winner over hurdles; beaten by a smart mare on her recent chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/4 +36%)Lovely Hurling |
7/4(+36%) | (4) Lovely Hurling 7/4, Outpaced but very promising on chase debut when second, beaten 13l, in a beginners' chase at Navan on return. Progressive hurdler last term; effective at around 2½m and should improve for that initial experience when stepped up in trip but threat if getting stiff test. Lightly-raced hurdler but smart; no match for Kopek Des Bordes on his chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (25/1 -25%)Kings Hill |
25/1(-25%) | (3) Kings Hill 25/1, Below form after being made too much use of when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Aintree last time. Returns from a long layoff and wears a tongue-tie for the first time; faces a tough task in hot race on chase debut. Useful hurdler but struggled in some strong handicaps last season; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (50/1 -213%)Bottler'secret |
50/1(-213%) | (1) Bottler'secret 50/1, Made mistakes and produced a poor chase debut when down the field in a beginners' chase at Naas last time. Effective at around 2m but currently out of form over jumps. Smart novice hurdler but has become disappointing; offered little on recent chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (3/1 +40%)James's Gate |
3/1(+40%) | (2) James's Gate 3/1, Showed a good attitude and improvement on recent form when winning a novice hurdle at Navan by 3/4l last time. Returns from a long layoff with promise of more to come over fences; danger if fit. Dual hurdle winner with a mark of 135; could easily run well despite his absence. |

KARGESE was a dual Grade 1 winner over hurdles as a juvenile and landed the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March. The Willie Mullins-trained mare was set a stiff task on her chasing debut when runner-up to Kala Conti in a Grade 2 at Cork earlier this month and should benefit from the experience. Lovely Hurling filled the runner-up spot behind the impressive Final Demand in a 2m4f Grade 1 novice hurdle at the Punchestown Festival and was unlucky to come up against Kopek Des Bordes on his chasing debut at Navan last month. James's Gate has obviously not been the easiest to train but retains plenty of ability.

Kargese will take some beating with a trouble-free round but the progressive LOVELY HURLING can give her a race.

Effective at 2m and prefers decent ground. Progressive last term with strong course form; dangerous if allowed to dictate. Won two G1s over C&D last season, including this race; goes well fresh; leading player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (2/1 -14%)Marine Nationale |
2/1(-14%) | (5) Marine Nationale 2/1, A four-time Grade 1 winner who took the Champion Chase (Grade 1) at Punchestown by 7l last time. Effective at 2m and suited by decent ground. The Champion Chase winner sets the standard here, a big player if fit on favourable drying ground but may just need this run. Reigning champion 2m chaser is the one to beat but started last season very slowly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/4 +25%)Majborough |
6/4(+25%) | (4) Majborough 6/4, A triple Grade 1 winner who finished second, beaten 1 1/2l, in the Hilly Way Chase (Grade 2) at Cork last time where let down by jumping. Effective at 2m and acts on any ground. Would be unbeaten over fences but for jumping errors; high-class performer who must jump cleanly. Top-class 2m novice chaser last season but he is prone to errors in jumping department. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/2 +31%)Found A Fifty |
9/2(+31%) | (2) Found A Fifty 9/2, A dual Grade 1 winner who ran to form when winning the Hilly Way Chase (Grade 2) at Cork by 1 1/2l last time, his fitness and better jumping proving decisive. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, consistent, though possibly vulnerable at the very top level. Pulled up in this race last year but beat Majborough last time so has to be considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 -71%)Only By Night |
12/1(-71%) | (7) Only By Night 12/1, Travelled well and ran to her best when benefitting from a drop in grade, showing strong form for the level when winning the Barberstown Castle Chase (Grade 3) at Naas by a short-head last time following big Arkle run. Cheekpieces first time; effective at 2m, acts on soft and good ground. Progressive mare last season; 4-6 over fences; 2nd in last season's Arkle; bit to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (40/1 -21%)Captain Guinness |
40/1(-21%) | (1) Captain Guinness 40/1, The yard has won two of the last ten runnings of this race. Pulled up in the Fortria Chase (Grade 2) at Navan last time. Effective at 2m and acts with cut, but though a former Grade 1 winner, he is not the force of old and can be erratic. Queen Mother Champion Chase winner in 2024 but regressive since; set to struggle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (33/1 +34%)Hercule Du Seuil |
33/1(+34%) | (3) Hercule Du Seuil 33/1, The yard has won three of the last five editions of this race. Finished 8l third in the Fortria Chase (Grade 2) at Navan last time. Enjoys making the running and is effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, best on decent ground; competitive at Grade 2/3 level. Probably not up to this level; uphill task over this trip against specialist two-milers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

MAJBOROUGH is certainly not the finished article over fences, but hopefully he can put in an improved round of jumping and take advantage of a fitness edge over Marine Nationale. The five-year-old blundered away a winning opportunity when a close third behind Jango Baie and Only By Night in the Arkle at Cheltenham and after easily beating Only By Night at the Punchestown Festival, again showed jumping frailties when runner-up to Found A Fifty on his reappearance in the Hilly Way at Cork. Marine Nationale, third behind Solness in this race last year, steadily improved last season before landing the Champion Chase at both Cheltenham and Punchestown. It will be interesting to see how strong Solness is in the market on his seasonal debut.

SOLNESS is worth backing to follow up his win in this race 12 months ago. He goes well fresh and should ensure this is a proper test

Effective at 2m2f on good ground; a classy sort who could extend an unbeaten run stepping up in grade. Unbeaten in a bumper and two hurdle starts; unknown quantity; could improve again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (13/2 -247%)Le Divin Enfant |
13/2(-247%) | (2) Le Divin Enfant 13/2, From a yard that has won two of the last five renewals. Quickened clear easily when taking a maiden hurdle at Thurles by 23l last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (14/1 -17%)The Passing Wife |

4/1(+75%) | (1) Koktail Brut 4/1, The yard has won the last two runnings of this race. Effective at 2m and handles yielding or good ground; bumper form looks solid and he's progressing well over hurdles, likely to stay further in time. Perfect 2-2 for Joseph O'Brien, including easy Grade 3 win on latest; in the mix. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

The bare form of the Thurles maiden hurdle won by LE DIVIN ENFANT last month is nothing to get excited about, but he oozed class in recording a facile victory and gets the vote to show he's up to competing at the highest level in novice hurdle company this season. Willie Mullins holds a strong hand as he's also represented by Love Me Tender, who easily made all on both hurdle starts, including in a Grade 3 at Tipperary, while Skylight Hustle took a big leap forward from his hurdling debut when a wide-margin winner of a Fairyhouse maiden. Riding arrangements suggest he's preferred to Royal Bond victor Koktail Brut.

Gordon Elliott has won this race three times since 2021 and SKYLIGHT HUSTLE (nap) looks another exciting prospect in his ranks

5/1(+50%) | (9) Joueur Masque 5/1, Bit free and needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown last time; effective at 2m on soft or yielding ground; likely to improve now handicapping though mark looks demanding. 15th (10) (40/1 -100%)Icare Desbois |
40/1(-100%) | (10) Icare Desbois 40/1, Produced a modest effort when beaten 8 1/4l in a maiden at Dundalk last time; consistent in this sphere but needs to show more to be competitive at this level. Ex-Willie Mullins 7yo; no closer than 8l in three Flat maidens for his current yard. |

16th (6) (33/1 +0%)Feud |
33/1(+0%) | (6) Feud 33/1, Unsuited by rain-softened ground and may not have stayed when down the field in a Fairyhouse handicap hurdle last time; better suited by 2m on sound surface but has a bit to prove after several below-par runs. Maiden/novice wins during the summer of 2024; mostly disappointing in the meantime. |

BOWENSONFIRE has won three times over hurdles this year, including a valuable handicap at Bellewstown in July, and has held his form well since. He came home strongly into second behind Zillow at Fairyhouse last time and can go one better. Sainte Lucie looked a smart prospect when easily landing a Punchestown maiden on her Irish debut but didn't really progress subsequently, albeit in the top juvenile races. Balko D'ange won a similar event at Navan last month, while others to consider include top-weight Path D'oroux and Tipperary maiden winner Ace Brannigan.

A chance is taken on JOUEUR MASQUE who impressed in winning his maiden before racing too keenly in the mud on his handicap debut.

Midnight Our Fred beat all bar Perceval Legallois in this race last year and made a pleasing return over hurdles at Cork last month, while Scottish Grand National winner Captain Cody was a creditable third to Romeo Coolio when reappearing over an inadequate 2m4f in the Drinmore at Fairyhouse. 66/1(-32%) | (9) La Rocca Lass 66/1, Stopped quickly when comfortably held in a Mares bumper at Wexford last time; back from a short break, effective at 2m, but more needed to get off the mark. The best of her bumper runs was when 11l third at Punchestown in October; can rule out. |

Willie Mullins has won this bumper six times in the past decade, including with Fact To File and Appreciate It, and ARCADIAN EMPEROR could add to his tally. The son of Kamsin made a favourable impression when beating Lisbane Park (won since over hurdles) in a Lisronagh point-to-point for Sam Curling and he gets the vote over Generous Risk, who also won between the flags and has been placed on both bumper starts. Derek O'Connor is a notable booking on Beechwood Road, while Barnahash Mason made some late progress on his debut over hurdles at Thurles.

ARCADIAN EMPEROR was a comfortable winner of a point-to-point and could prove too strong on his first run for the champion trainer

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
