LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

EPHESUS has run well in three hurdles to date and can be depended upon to again show that form. A Flat maiden winner for Aidan O'Brien, the selection finished mid-division in the Lincoln last month and had previously finished third behind a subsequent Grade 3 hurdle winner at Naas in February. Raydamann was also quite capable on the Flat, albeit without managing a win, and while reported to have blood at both nostrils on his December hurdling debut, showed much better form at Navan subsequently and will be suited by drying ground. Sprinkles finished reasonably well when beaten 32 lengths on her latest start, but nonetheless has eight lengths to find with the selection on that December form.

Former Aidan O'Brien-trained Flat winner EPHESUS has shown a standard of hurdles form that should make this a straightforward task

HARRY'S LEGACY is the top-rated runner and has run well in two recent maiden hurdles. He pulled up having suffered an overreach on his hurdling debut in November but showed nice ability behind some capable rivals on his two runs this year. Both those races were on soft ground and being a dual good-ground Flat winner, he will appreciate drying ground. Hooded Icare D'aubrelle has been frustrating but finished just over six lengths behind the selection at Navan in February and is respected, although he would prefer easy ground. God Of Thunder ran reasonably well at Navan 10 days ago.

JAZZ FOREVER didn't get home over 2m4f at Leopardstown and he might be able to get his head in front dropped back in trip.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

NYTOL didn't show much prior to last month's course second placing but seems well suited by this distance and reasonable ground conditions. The selection managed just one placing in 2023 prior to returning from a 682-day layoff this year and while beaten by an easy winner here last month, the third has since won. Debut bumper winner Kevin's Pride steps up in distance and should be suited by a return to drier ground, but the form of his two recent UK runs is nothing special. William Butler also scored on his bumper debut but was well held at Leopardstown over Christmas and meets more experienced rivals today.

Although lacking in hurdling experience, Gordon Elliott's WILLIAM BUTLER is potentially a cut above these rivals on bumper form

IRISH IMPULSE won consecutive races last November and contests a winnable handicap, as he reverts to hurdles. His initial form was poor but showed nice ability last winter and can progress following his most recent run at Thurles, which was his first appearance following a small break. Nusra hasn't run over hurdles since pulling up in March 2023 but is a three-time Flat winner who is fit, so could compete from her rating. Jonny Mansie disappointed on his last two starts but had previously shown nice form at a similar level.

A chance is taken on the C&D winner SEASETT who is just 2lb above his last win and he'll appreciate the return to a sound surface

While an ease in the ground would be preferable, CHEF'S KISS might be well enough treated to register a first Rules success. The Philip Rothwell-trained gelding shaped with promise when a staying-on third here over Christmas. Despite failing to build on that effort when down the field at Fairyhouse subsequently, he may not have been suited to dropping back in trip. A former point-to-point winner, the additional three furlongs he encounters now is very much in his favour. The Sugarhill Lady disappointed on her most recent appearance, but better is expected on this handicap debut. Bal Kauto departed four out on his reappearance after a long absence, but is entitled to have come on for that.

NEWPORT shaped like this trip would suit on his handicap debut and he may be able to get his head in front off 1lb lower.

Former point-to-point winner SNOW PUNT catches the eye on his first start over fences. Runner-up in a handicap hurdle at this track over Christmas, he was travelling easily when falling four from home on his return visit the following month. Although somewhat disappointing at Clonmel on his latest start, the Brendan Walsh-trained gelding is worth another chance. A lightly-raced type over fences, Junot has the potential to exploit a mark of 91 at some stage. A Wexford winner over hurdles last May, the six-year-old has only had two starts over the larger obstacles. Clonmel winner Birdsandthebees should appreciate dropping back in trip on this better ground.

It may be worth taking a chance with ANOTHER OCANA, a dual course winner tackling a more suitable trip than he attempted last time

The Eddie and Patrick Harty-trained AMERICAN MONEY looks well handicapped on his return to chasing. Having shown some potential in three runs over fences earlier in the season, the eight-year-old ran very well in a couple of hotly-contested handicap hurdles on his last two starts. Now tackling the larger obstacles off a mark which is 12lb below his hurdles rating, the gelding has to be respected. The hat-trick seeking Don't Talk looks a reasonable alternative for the Karl Thornton stable. With all four career wins having come on right-handed tracks, he should be at home around here. C&D winner General Clermont also commands respect for local trainer Davy Fitzgerald.

Karl Thornton has given DON'T TALK a decent interval since his wins in quick succession in January and his form has been boosted

With the Gordon Elliott stable having done particularly well with their UK point-to-point recruits, PANJANDRUM is put forward as the selection. Having unseated on his debut in early December, the five-year-old made no mistake when opening his account on his second appearance later that same month. Having shown he knows how to win races, the son of Blue Bresil looks the most solid option. Willie Mullins introduces an unraced five-year-old in the shape of Dani Donadoni. A half-brother to two winners, he has the pedigree to make an impact. The Tom Cooper-trained Khmer has shown enough in three bumper starts to suggest he can get involved here as well.

The nicely bred DANI DONADONI is narrowly preferred. This looks an ideal trip for him on debut and Willie Mullins won this last season

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
