LINCOLN DU SEUIL has a good profile and has joined top connections since winning a French bumper on debut last March. A half-brother to two useful French jump winners, the selection won a heavy-ground Lignieres bumper on debut, with that form being boosted as the fourth-placed horse scored subsequently and has himself since been bought by leading owner J.P. McManus. The more experienced Lakota Blue is vulnerable to smart types but nonetheless should again run well and holds Out For A Stroll on Punchestown form. Holy See was narrowly beaten by a subsequent Group 3 winner at Chantilly last February and could be useful, while Bacchanalian ran well enough on hurdles debut. Dark Oak and Shoda had Flat ability.

A huge field but only a handful make any serious appeal, LAKOTA BLUE selected to put his experience to good use and make it fourth time lucky in this sphere at the expense of French-recruit Lincoln du Seuil, who won a newcomers bumper back in the spring and has since joined the powerhouse that is Willie Mullins. Bacchanalian and Shoda can fight it out for minor honours.

BACCHANALIAN shaped nicely on hurdles debut at Galway in a race that has worked out well and he might represent some value.

KAINSBOURG is an exciting recruit, having been purchased for 355,000 euro in November 2023. A bumper winner on debut in October 2023, the selection won a hot AQPS Group 3 race on heavy ground at Nantes before his subsequent sale the following month and while absent since, he was probably kept fresh until now and could be smart. Karamoja was herself placed in an Auteuil Listed hurdle in September 2023 and while slightly disappointing on her Irish debut, she raced too keenly then and notably drops back in distance wearing a hood. Laafi, a 35,000gns purchase in October, was rated 98 on the Flat and should do well over hurdles, while French import Autoportrait ran well at Navan. Torps has minor place claims.

AUTOPORTRAIT was well supported when runner-up on debut for new connections at Navan earlier this month and looks sure to improve. He can get off the mark. Karamoja and Torps rate the principal dangers.

With improvement to come from her recent Irish debut at Clonmel when behind a stablemate, KARAMOJA can get the job done today.

FLEUR IN THE PARK has been running consistently well in Graded races recently and now steps up in distance. Placed at Listed level in a bumper, the selection was just touched off in a Grade 2 hurdle earlier this month and while he has yet to prove his ability to stay this distance, he holds Mozzies Sister on that Navan form and can be depended upon to again run well. It is interesting that Mozzies Sister herself steps up in distance, while Minella Sixo and Mister Pink are closely matched on a Thurles meeting, with both being proven stayers. The Big Westerner steps up from maiden company but is a staying type who should progress.

A winner of her only start between the Flags, THE BIG WESTERNER marked herself down as a useful prospect when making a winning hurdles debut at Punchestown (21.7f) 32 days ago. She can make a bold bid to maintain her 100% record quickly upped in class. Minella Sixo and Mozzies Sister are others to consider, along with Fleur In The Park if seeing out this longer trip.

Though lacking the experience of some of her rivals, a chance is taken on THE BIG WESTERNER improving enough to take this.

LADY OF THE LOCKE debuts in handicaps aged just four but has shown nice ability and can better her 105 rating. A debut bumper winner last March, she finished third at today's course on her jumps debut last April and on a strict line with that race's runner-up, Jeaniemacaroney, she now appears nicely treated. She ran well behind a smart winner in a big-field Cork maiden hurdle earlier this month and looks set for a bold bid. Ad Caelum defeated Inchiquin Star to win at Thurles last month and both should be competitive. Lep Around and The Big Cloud make their respective seasonal reappearances and both showed useful ability last term.

Bumper-winner LADY OF THE LOCKE is a very likely improver now handicapping when you consider her bumper form and the yard she represents. In the hope the market vibes are positive, she gets the nod in favour of Gers Gigi and Brianna Lily.

The one to beat looks to be the unexposed LADY OF THE LOCKE on her handicap debut after a nice run at Cork

ENJOY THE DREAM has gained experience over fences recently and being a previous Grade 2 hurdle winner, is suited by conditions. She finished just 12 lengths behind Lossiemouth in April 2023 and while she returned from 359 days off last May, performed well enough in two recent smart chases and should now run well in a first-time tongue-tie, competing over a suitable distance. The returning Cayd Boy has form in this sphere but might struggle to beat the selection, while Foxy Girl was Listed-placed over hurdles and won a course hurdle here in December 2022. Release The Beast ran well on chase debut behind Ballyburn and has the size to do well in this sphere.

RELEASE THE BEAST was placed behind Ballyburn on his chase debut and Paul Nolan's gelding sets a good standard on that effort, even without the promise of potential improvement. Cayd Boy is a long-standing maiden over fences but the pick of his form would see him in the mix here, whilst Foxy Girl rates as an interesting newcomer to this discipline for Henry de Bromhead.

After his good debut effort behind Ballyburn at Punchestown, the one to beat is RELEASE THE BEAST with improvement very likely

CHEERFUL CHAP has been running well and retains a favourable chase rating. A three-time hurdle winner and currently rated 117 in that sphere, the selection has been mildly frustrating in three chases this year, but nonetheless ran well each time and is suited by today's similar conditions. Cahirdown Boy has been running well and wasn't beaten too far in two runs since his Listowel success, while stablemate Dream In The Park seems reasonably treated on his return to chasing under a 7lb claimer. A dual hurdle winner in England in 2022, he was well held in a valuable Navan hurdle recently but had previously finished second here and reverts to fences rated slightly lower.

CHEERFUL CHAP has been shaping up well given another go at chasing this season, placed on his last 3 starts, so he could be ready to take advantage of his lower mark over fences. Sea Road Fill has fared better sent handicapping on his last 2 outings and is respected, while Birdsandthebees remains with potential as a chaser.

This race can provide the winning opportunity for CHEERFUL CHAP(nap) with the trip in his favour after some good placed efforts

EARLY BIRD represents last year's winning trainer and, being nicely bred, might score on debut. Her trainer operates at a notably high strike-rate and as Early Bird is out of a bumper-winning mare and is by Annie Power's sire, she could be useful. Ufouria finished second to a smart type on debut here in October 2023 - with the third and fifth winning subsequently - and while she disappointed since, it is encouraging connections return her for another bumper. Forceonmyown's form was poor prior to winning a recent point-to-point and has joined a top yard, while Hurricane Bailey was reported to have been 'showing signs of tying up post race' after her January run, but had shown form last Christmas.

UFOURIA shaped promisingly when runner-up at this C&D on debut, the winner going on to land a Grade 2 mares' novice chase this season, and having had excuses next time she is worth another chance on her return. She is preferred to Early Bird who is one to note on debut, while Forceonmyown is an interesting contender on first start for Gordon Elliott.

Preference is for UFOURIA who ran into a good mare on debut here last year and will be hard to beat if she can reproduce that
