1st (4) (1/2 +0%)Al Najashi |
1/2(+0%) | (4) Al Najashi 1/2, Sat off a fast pace, tried in a tongue-tie, and improved on his handicap debut when landing a handicap by 2l at Southwell last time. Effective at 5f and 6f, his mark is tougher now but he remains an obvious contender. Justified favouritism on handicap debut at Southwell; up 6lb but he's a major player again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 +46%)Thankfully Simmy |
7/2(+46%) | (1) Thankfully Simmy 7/2, Ran to form and was not given a hard time once held when fourth, beaten 4l, in a novice at Newcastle last time. Usually held up, returning from a short break, effective at 6f, with a bit more to come. Unexposed colt and a possible improver back up in trip on handicap debut; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (20/1 +0%)Real Gold |
20/1(+0%) | (6) Real Gold 20/1, A touch disappointing for no obvious reason when fourth, beaten 7l, in a handicap here last time. Effective at 6f, her mark is easing. Seven-race maiden who has not really progressed and was beaten 7l in a C&D handicap latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (8/1 -14%)Mister Moet |
8/1(-14%) | (5) Mister Moet 8/1, Did not settle when beaten 7l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Suited by 6f, he is not the most convincing in a finish but his form is fairly consistent. Sole win was in a Carlisle novice last May and he's 0-8 in handicaps; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (14/1 -17%)Euphonia |
14/1(-17%) | (2) Euphonia 14/1, Shuffled back on the home turn and had too much to do when beaten 5l in a handicap at Kempton last time. Effective at 6f and may not stay further, she did not have the best trip and is a bit better than that. Regressive form in novice events and was in rear on handicap debut at Kempton last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having justified favouritism on his handicap bow at Southwell last month, there should be more to come from AL NAJASHI. Ollie Sangster's colt scored with enough in hand to suggest that a 6lb higher mark is surmountable and he's taken to fend off Thankfully Simmy. The son of Mehmas has performed with credit in three novice events to date and an opening mark of 65 looks workable. Mister Moet is the pick of the remainder.

This can go to AL NAJASHI, who justified favouritism when scoring in good style on his handicap debut at Southwell three weeks ago.

9/1(-157%) | (6) Rosieisme Darling 9/1, Ran to form back over 5f when second and beaten 1/2l off 55 last time, and is 1lb higher here. Probably best at 5f and is in good form. Likeable type. Chelmsford winner who had a near miss over C&D last time; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/2 +25%)Havana Jag |
9/2(+25%) | (3) Havana Jag 9/2, Ran to handicap form when beaten 2l in a maiden at Chelmsford last time. Effective over 5/6f and a consistent type based on recent efforts. 0-6 but she has a solid record and looks interesting on this drop back in trip. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (80/1 -264%)Epsom Ali |
80/1(-264%) | (7) Epsom Ali 80/1, Again failed to beat a rival when fourth and beaten 49l in a maiden here latest. Returns from a short break and has plenty of speed in her pedigree, but has a lot to prove after two poor runs. Tailed off in al three runs and she needs lots of improvement on her handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Filly Foden was rewarded for several creditable efforts in defeat when opening her account at Southwell eight days ago. The three-year-old should remain competitive reverting to handicap company, but it could be worth chancing HAVANA JAG. Dylan Cunha's filly wasn't disgraced on her latest fifth in a maiden and she lurks on an attractive mark. Rosieisme Darling is a feasible alternative.

The vote goes to ROSIEISME DARLING, who had a near miss over C&D last time and is only 1lb higher here.

22/1(0%) | (7) Elouise's Prince 22/1, Below form but with excuses when beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Best at 5f on the all-weather and not the force of old, though that is reflected in his current mark. Has been out of sorts in his last seven runs and is untried at this trip; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (10/3 -33%)Francesi |
10/3(-33%) | (6) Francesi 10/3, Ran to form when second, beaten a length, up in trip off 68 last time and is 3lb higher now. Suited by 8-9f on the all-weather; trained by a top course yard and should remain competitive. Good second in hat-trick bid at Wolverhampton and his last win was over C&D; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (3/1 +25%)Tadreeb |
3/1(+25%) | (3) Tadreeb 3/1, Better than result, strong at finish beaten 4l off a 1lb lower mark here last time; trainer in form; effective 7/8f, acts on any, probably better on AW; in and out of late but capable off this mark. Five-time course winner who is on dangerous mark and looks interesting back up in trip. |

7/2(-56%) | (4) Way To Dubai 7/2, Improved to score with a bit in hand when winning a handicap by 2 1/4l off an 8lb lower mark here last time. Effective over 6-8f on the all-weather, though his new mark asks more. Ended long losing run with a clearcut win over C&D last Saturday; big player again up 5lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (14/1 +22%)Nordic Norm |
14/1(+22%) | (1) Nordic Norm 14/1, Found little and ran below form when fourth, beaten 9l, in a handicap at Chelmsford last time. Suited by 8f on the all-weather and probably soft ground, but needs to find more. Won on debut at Newcastle last February but he's been disappointing since and is now 1-9. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (3/1 +0%)Latin |
3/1(+0%) | (5) Latin 3/1, Ran to form off his new mark when fourth, beaten 2 1/4l off 69 last time, and is 3lb higher here. Effective over a range of trips on the all-weather and can go well again. Held in bid for four-timer at Wolverhampton on Monday; needs to find more in new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (11/1 +45%)Kingkeer |
11/1(+45%) | (2) Kingkeer 11/1, Did his best work late when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap here last time, down in trip. Effective over longer distances on a sound surface; form is in and out but may do better for his new yard. Won at Windsor last May but he's generally struggled since; has something to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Way To Dubai made the most of a drop in class over C&D recently, but a 5lb higher mark may find him out, while Latin was thwarted in his bid for a four-timer when fourth at Wolverhampton five days ago. With all that in mind, this could be fought between in-form duo Francesi and TADREEB, with the latter appealing slightly more judged on his never-nearer third over 7f here last time out.

Top of the list is WAY TO DUBAI (nap), who got back on the scoresheet with a clearcut win over C&D last Saturday.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (2/1 +20%)Loma Express |
2/1(+20%) | (6) Loma Express 2/1, Back to form when beaten just 1/2l into third in a novice here on her most recent run. Effective at 7f on this surface, though she may have reached her current level. Close up on stable debut over C&D last month and that form puts her firmly in the picture. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (40/1 -21%)Pink Diamond Girl |
40/1(-21%) | (7) Pink Diamond Girl 40/1, Outpaced early but made a fair effort when beaten 7l in a novice at Wolverhampton on debut. Returns from a short break and is bred to get at least a mile, though improvement is needed. Made a low-key start at Wolverhampton in December and she's probably one for later on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (12/1 +40%)Our Guy |
12/1(+40%) | (3) Our Guy 12/1, Improved from debut when dropped in trip and beaten 5l in a novice at Kempton last time. Shaped as though 7f would suit and is likely to have a bit more to offer. Well held in both runs this winter and handicaps will be more suitable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (25/1 -150%)Seapearl |
25/1(-150%) | (8) Seapearl 25/1, Improved markedly from her debut when beaten 4l in a maiden at Kempton last time. Appears to stay 7f on this surface and probably has a little more to come. Down the field in two runs last month and handicaps are an option after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (25/1 -150%)Feisty Minx |
25/1(-150%) | (5) Feisty Minx 25/1, Showed similar form to her debut when beaten 4 1/4l in a maiden at Kempton last time. Probably has a bit more to come once reaching handicaps. Well held in two runs at Kempton (7f) this winter and she needs improvement. |

9th (1) (66/1 0%)Harry Don't Bite |
66/1(0%) | (1) Harry Don't Bite 66/1, Travelled well but was caught wide and found little here latest. Yet to show any real signs of ability so far, though he is speedily bred. 5yo who finished tailed off at massive prices in two runs here (1m/7f) last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LOMA EXPRESS was only narrowly denied when third over C&D last month and she could be hard to beat if repeating that level of form on this occasion. That said, King Of Chaos has to be respected following his second over 6f at Wolverhampton. Galileo Charm is more than capable of making the frame but could once again be vulnerable.

This looks tricky but recent Wolverhampton runner-up KING OF CHAOS gets the vote ahead of Galileo Charm and Loma Express.

9/1(+36%) | (6) Iconic Times 9/1, Was a bit below form when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Kempton last time. 4th (2) (17/2 -6%)Mr Cool |
17/2(-6%) | (2) Mr Cool 17/2, Was a bit keen in first-time cheekpieces and failed to get home when beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Kempton last time. Effective at 5f and 6f, now on a reduced mark but needs more. 0-8 on AW and he's finished down the field in last four runs; others preferred. |

11/2(-83%) | (7) Dandy Khan 11/2, Ran to form when third, beaten 3l off a mark of 62 last time, and competes from the same rating here. Tailed off in her final run in the autumn and she doesn't have a great record when fresh. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (50/1 -52%)Comedian Leader |
50/1(-52%) | (9) Comedian Leader 50/1, Performed well below form when beaten 8l in a handicap over this course and distance last time. Effective between 6f and 8f and now on a falling mark, but a bounce back is required. Has struggled since returning to AW in December and she needs a major revival. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The return to 7f should help DANDY KHAN, who was successful off a 2lb lower mark when last seen over C&D three starts ago. With that in mind, she gets the vote ahead of the recent Kempton winner Serenity Dream. A 3lb rise for that victory will make life tougher for Tony Carroll's gelding, while the consistent Monsieur Kodi completes the shortlist.

Preference is for SERENITY DREAM who got back in the groove with a win at Kempton and remains feasibly treated off his revised mark.

4th (1) (3/1 +0%)Silky Wilkie |
3/1(+0%) | (1) Silky Wilkie 3/1, Ran to form landing a handicap by a neck off a 2lb lower mark at Newcastle last time; effective 5/6f, acts on any; competitive mark still. Ended long losing run in a Class 3 at Newcastle and he's only 2lb higher here; respected. |

Won over 5f here last time but that was at 50-1 in a Class 6 handicap; others preferred. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SILKY WILKIE accounted for a decent field when winning over 6f at Newcastle last month and the seven-year-old merits plenty of respect off just a 2lb higher mark in this lower grade. Ziggy's Condor also won at Newcastle on his most recent outing and could prove to be the main threat to the selection, ahead of Charlie Mason and Lazzar.

This looks wide open but the vote goes to ZIGGY'S CONDOR, who is only 2lb higher than for his game win at Newcastle last time.

SILKIES SIB wasn't beaten far in each of his two starts since winning at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day and that reliability earns him the vote. Celtic John, who won over a mile here last month, could be the biggest danger if stepping up a couple of furlongs doesn't cause any issues. Muy Muy Loco, a previous C&D winner, and the potentially well-handicapped Eutropia are others to bear in mind.

Preference is for SILKIES SIB, who won at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day and was a good third behind an improver at Southwell last time.

1st (1) (11/4 +66%)Danehill Star |
11/4(+66%) | (1) Danehill Star 11/4, Below form when finishing down the field in a handicap at Kempton most recently. Trained by a top course handler, he is effective over 7-10f, with a step back up in trip expected to suit. Back to a far more suitable trip and getting the visor back on is another plus. |

2nd (6) (3/1 +25%)Al Shabab |
3/1(+25%) | (6) Al Shabab 3/1, Returned to form when second, beaten 3/4l, in a classified race at Wolverhampton latest. A C&D winner who seems suited by 10f, he needs to build on that run now back in handicaps. C&D winner in September and threatened again at Wolverhampton recently. |

3rd (7) (12/1 -118%)Summer Evening |
12/1(-118%) | (7) Summer Evening 12/1, Improved for first-time cheekpieces when beaten 1/2l off this mark here last time. Effective at 8f on the all-weather and has a chance if handling the step back up in trip. Better for cheekpieces latest; chance if building on that and staying this far. |

4th (4) (18/1 -80%)Pure Theory |
18/1(-80%) | (4) Pure Theory 18/1, Ran to form when beaten 5l in a handicap here last time. Effective over 10-12f on the all-weather, though her recent form has been in and out. Not kicked on from respectable first run for this yard, last time behind Graffiti. |

5th (5) (11/10 +0%)Knight Of Magic |
11/10(+0%) | (5) Knight Of Magic 11/10, Was a bit keen but ran to his best when upped in trip, winning a classified race at Wolverhampton by a head last time. Effective from 9-13f and can be competitive back in a handicap. Mostly consistent since joining James Owen but the wins have come in classified races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (40/1 +0%)Nora Barnacle |
40/1(+0%) | (8) Nora Barnacle 40/1, Failed to show from off the pace when well beaten in a handicap at Chelmsford latest. She has yet to show anything. This could be more her trip but again runs without headgear; best run in a visor. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Luke Morris gets on well with KNIGHT OF MAGIC and the jockey booking swings the vote in favour of the James Owen-trained gelding. Having been in the saddle for recent classified stakes wins at Southwell and Wolverhampton, Morris' experienced coaxing can ensure this keen-going six-year-old again holds enough in reserve to be strong at the finish. Al Shabab is an old rival with solid claims on these terms, while Danehill Star and Pure Theory shouldn't be underestimated.

The 5yo DANEHILL STAR returns to a better trip with the visor reinstated and those factors look major positives.
Ths is the racecard key.
