Ended a lengthy losing run when dead-heating over C&D last month; respected off 2lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (17/2 +0%)Twitch |
17/2(+0%) | (8) Twitch 17/2, Ran to form 2 1/2l third in a classified race at Kempton most recent run; suited by 7f, acts on fast ground and AW; form regressing, looks badly treated back in a handicap. Fair third in classified event last time but this is tougher and his last win was in 2024. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (18/1 -177%)Semser |
18/1(-177%) | (5) Semser 18/1, Returned to form back up in trip beaten 1 1/2l off this mark at Chelmsford last time; effective 7-10f, suited by AW; fair mark but proving inconsistent of late. All wins have been at longer trips but has possibilities if he gets a good pace to aim at. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (150/1 -200%)Tilsworth Silver |
150/1(-200%) | (9) Tilsworth Silver 150/1, Far too free down the field in a classified race at Kempton most recent; no worthwhile form to speak of. Record of 0-16 and he's finished ahead of only four rivals in his last five starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Alashos finished a close fourth over 6f at Kempton earlier in the month and has his first attempt at this distance, so he is one to note. However, GLOBAL WARNING took a step back in the right direction when just touched off over track and trip last month and is just 2lb higher. The booking of Rossa Ryan is noteworthy and he looks the one to side with. Semser completes the shortlist.

A competitive race in which the vote goes to the reliable KONDRATIEV WAVE, who battled well when dead-heating over C&D last month.

10/1(-122%) | (8) Miss Moonshine 10/1, Met minor interference but suited by the step-up in trip landing a handicap by a nose off a 3lb lower mark here last time; trainer in form; effective 6f, suited by 7f and may get a mile, acts on AW; races lazily and pace collapse helps; the one to beat. Unexposed over 7f and she forced a dead-heat over C&D last time; interesting contender. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Miss Moonshine sprung a 33/1 surprise when forcing a dead-heat to score over C&D on her most recent outing and is respected, but TASKHEER is the more appealing option. Daniel Steele's charge has been thereabouts in classified stakes the last twice, finishing second and third, and remains on a workable rating back in handicap company. Gundogan ran below-par when fourth at Southwell, but could bounce back to have a say.

The vote goes to MISS MOONSHINE, who is unexposed at this trip and did well to force a dead-heat over C&D last month.

Unexposed 4yo who returns to the Flat and needs watching in market on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

NAVAL TRIBUTE relished the step up in distance when sporting first-time cheekpieces to get off the mark on handicap debut at Kempton and a 3lb rise might prove to be lenient. The extra furlong could unlock further improvement and he looks the one to be on. Three-time course winner Tortured Soul produced a better effort when second at Kempton last week and is considered, while Robbo is far from out of it either.

Preference is for ten-time AW winner TORTURED SOUL who had a near-miss off this mark at Kempton last week.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Welcome Retreat hit the woodwork off a figure of 73 on her handicap bow at Southwell two starts ago and has to be respected. Handicap debutant Autumn Affair warrants a market check, but it may pay to side with SPACE BEAR. Despite being too free, the daughter of Space Blues finished a close third in this grade at Kempton in January and could make her first start for Mick Appleby a successful one.

The pick is WHISKEY KISSES, who returned from a break with an encouraging 5f run this month and should be suited by this return to 6f.

125/1(-400%) | (6) Sky Dancer 125/1, Did not stay trip here down the field in a handicap at Bath most recent; effective 11f AW, yet to prove she acts on turf so return to this surface a plus; plenty to prove back from break. 13-race maiden who has struggled for current yard and has a lot to prove on her return. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Beaune failed to supplement his triumph over track and trip when second at Southwell next time, but that was still a good effort and he is respected dropping to this level. Everest outran odds of 66/1 when third over two furlongs shorter here last month and could have a say, but three-time C&D scorer PABLO PRINCE is the one. Karen Jewell's gelding only found one too good at Chelmsford on his latest outing and looks well placed to go one better.

Several have possibilities but NYMPHAEA gets the vote ahead of Belle Of Kt and Pablo Prince.

12th (7) (14/1 -17%)Paps Of Jura |
14/1(-17%) | (7) Paps Of Jura 14/1, Too much do having missed the break and met trouble beaten 4l in a classified race at Wolverhampton last time; effective 1m; yet to show anything, longer trip could suit. Still unexposed but he's drawn out wide and this looks tough on the figures. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Warrior Lion got up for second in the final strides when last seen on the level at Wolverhampton in January and could go well, but it's hard to ignore the claims of SAACHI. Ian Williams' five-year-old went in by two lengths at the same venue earlier in the month and if in similar form, he may prove a tough nut to crack. Of the remainder, Gearing's Point makes the most appeal.

Top of the list is SAACHI who justified support with a dominant display at Wolverhampton two weeks ago. Ignition is feared most.

Profit Street was just denied here over 7f on Friday and commands plenty of respect once again off the same mark. However, the drop back to 6f might catch him out and preference is for DESDEMONA. The four-year-old arrives seeking a hat-trick and appears capable of handling a 5lb rise for the latest of her wins at Chelmsford. Others to note are Way To Dubai and Sandscreendeliverd.

Phoenix Moon's record over C&D entitles her to respect but PROFIT STREET (nap) showed this mark was within range here last week.

WESTPORT didn't see a racecourse as a juvenile. However, given his price tag of 120,000gns as a foal rose to 270,000gns as a yearling, it's fair to say some lofty expectations have been held of him. This looks a winnable race for his belated introduction and the son of Blue Point could be one to follow if all goes well here. Shavkat, Comprador and Caviar Cowboy set the standard from those with experience and form an interesting shortlist for future reference.

The vote goes to George Boughey's striking newcomer WESTPORT, who cost 270,000gns as a yearling and is related to numerous winners.

In good form of late and again looked worth another try at this longer trip last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DESIDERATA proved this is his level with a dominant effort to win under Billy Loughnane at Wolverhampton last week. As he stays further, the trip shouldn't be an issue for the Thomas Faulkner-trained six-year-old and he could again be tough to overhaul with Loughnane retained. Celebrating Ethel also won a similar event last time out and warrants close inspection in this company. Haveagobeau, Myna and Hijo De La Luna help to make this competitive for the grade.

The style of racing here should suit the quirky DESIDERATA. He can defy a penalty at the main expense of Myna.
Ths is the racecard key.
