In what looks a trappy opening contest, LONGUERUE gets the tentative vote. Robert Eddery's charge put on a stamina-laden performance when scoring over 1m6f at Yarmouth earlier this month and the suspicion is that a 3lb rise may not be enough to anchor her back up to 2m. Dangers are aplenty, though, and are headed by last-time-out winner Scylla, though a 4lb rise for that performance demands more. Smart over obstacles, Teqany is a fascinating contender reverting to the level.

SCYLLA found improvement when comfortably drawing clear here a month ago and, with a talented amateur on board, she's fancied to go in again. Solid Silver is an obvious threat and Fictonal could take a hand under Simon Walker.

The unexposed SCYLLA is taken to build on her clearcut success on turf here last month.

Creative Lady was sent off a warm order when finishing runner-up over 7f at Epsom on just her second start earlier this month, and she should be on the premises once more with a reproduction of that effort. That said, she might have to play second fiddle to the more experienced LILLY'S BET. William Knight's charge shaped with more credit than the bare result suggests when finishing a staying-on fifth in a Kempton handicap over 6f latest and, stepping back up to 7f with a hood reapplied, she gets the vote. Lockwood is also noted.

DRAGONFLY IN AMBER showed promise when fifth despite some greenness at Windsor on debut and, with average improvement from first to second run, she could have enough to land this relatively weak maiden. Creative Lady and Lilly's Bet are likely to be on the premises and Hock Eye The Noo is an interesting newcomer.

The vote goes to CREATIVE LADY who looks the one to beat having finished runner-up in both starts on turf.

TIME TESTED readily pulled clear with the runner-up when scoring over 7f at Yarmouth on his penultimate start and, after shaping like he was still in good form when finishing second over 1m2f at Brighton earlier this month, he gets the nod to make his handicap debut a winning one. Recent C&D winner Snooker McCrew may emerge as the main danger to the selection under a 6lb penalty, while Forever Noah also warrants respect.

COME ON YOU SPURS was too free at Newmarket last time but she'd been firmly on the up prior to that and she's worth a chance to resume progress. Time Tested has more to come and Forever Noah is unlikely to have reached his limit.

There should be more to come from TIME TESTED on his handicap debut, while \bForever Noah\b has run well in both starts since returning.

ULTRAMARINE hinted at a revival with a couple of third-placed finishes over 6f earlier this month and may be able to swing this one his way with an additional furlong sure to suit. Already a three-time winner over this trip, the selection notably competes off 9lb below his last winning mark. Lady Dreamer rates a solid alternative with Oisin Murphy an eye-catching jockey booking, while Scarboroughwarning is interesting upped in trip.

ULTRAMARINE shaped well again at Windsor last week and given he's done all his winning on AW he could be worth chancing. That said, The Bitter Moose is 2-2 on AW and has dipped to a tempting mark so is very interesting. Scarboroughwarning might have more to offer over this longer trip and completes the shortlist.

It may be worth taking a chance with TADREEB who has dropped 17lb lower than for the latest of two C&D wins at the start of 2022.

On the back of a C&D win and respectable second-placed finish on the turf course here 22 days ago, BIG BARD is holding his form well and is worth another chance back on the all-weather. Add to that Joe Bradnam's 7lb claim is a very handy asset and a bold showing can be expected. Sir Rodneyredblood also rates a key player at this level, while Porfin tends to go well here and is not one to dismiss.

BIG BARD is back in good form and could be the answer. Sir Rodneyredblood is a player under Oisin Murphy, while a market move for the returning Repartee for a new yard might be interesting.

There is a chance that SIR RODNEYREDBLOOD (nap) will enjoy an uncontested lead and he could take some catching.

DIAMOND DREAMER had something in hand when he asserted over runner-up Chiedozie on the turf course here 22 days ago and is strongly fancied to conform the form, despite a 5lb higher mark. The Defiant and So Sleepy are other previous course winners to consider, with the former rated the more potent threat to the selection on this occasion given he runs off 2lb below his last winning mark.

DIAMOND DREAMER won well over this trip on turf here 3 weeks ago and can defy a 5 lb rise back on AW. Chiedozie chased him home on that occasion and may give him most to do again.

The vote goes to THE DEFIANT who has three C&D wins to his name and is 2lb below his last winning mark.
