|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1st (3) (8/1 -14%)Tropical Speed |
8/1(-14%) | (3) Tropical Speed 8/1, Won by a head off 99 at Uttoxeter in September. Eased early and something appeared amiss when pulled up in a handicap hurdle last time. Effective from 2½m to 3m and best on a sound surface; generally consistent. Started off for Andy Irvine with two good runs but the ground may have turned against him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 -27%)Island Run |
7/2(-27%) | (1) Island Run 7/2, Needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Exeter most recently. Had been in good form beforehand and is effective at 3m, but must prove ability remains following a layoff. Ran well to a point this month, after a long layoff, and drops in grade here; good chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (6/4 +14%)Malago Rose |
6/4(+14%) | (5) Malago Rose 6/4, Ran to form when 5l third in a handicap hurdle over 3m2f at Fontwell most recently. Effective over 3m and further, acts on good to soft, and looks steadily progressive with stamina a strength. Returned from break with pretty good third at Fontwell this month; can make presence felt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (10/1 +9%)Jour D'orage |
10/1(+9%) | (6) Jour D'orage 10/1, Keen and needed the run when comfortably held in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las last time. Effective at around 2½m but needs to improve stepping up in trip to defy his opening mark. Remains very unexposed but connections have more obvious claims with Malago Rose. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (7/1 -75%)San Pedro |
7/1(-75%) | (4) San Pedro 7/1, Went too fast and got racing too early when fourth, beaten 25l, in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Plumpton last time. Effective at 3m and acts on soft and good ground but is unreliable with a modest record when fresh. Gained hard-fought win in February but back in the doldrums for final two runs last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (13/2 +19%)Belgarum |
13/2(+19%) | (2) Belgarum 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Wincanton last time. The trainer is in good form and, on the balance of form, he appeals as a value selection off a lenient mark based on his chase efforts. Below form in both chases this autumn; hard to predict on first hurdle start since 2023. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MALAGO ROSE was sent off favourite for her Fontwell comeback, but it's possible she needed the run having weakened into third late on. There was still encouragement to take from the performance, though, and the drop in trip won't hurt her chances either. Island Run is also expected to come on from his return, which came following a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Belgarum is interesting now back over hurdles, while Tropical Speed is turned out quickly after last week's Plumpton farce.

This can go to class-dropper ISLAND RUN, who shaped quite well before tiring on his reappearance outing at Exeter this month.

1st (1) (8/11 +20%)Rip Wheeler |
8/11(+20%) | (1) Rip Wheeler 8/11, Travelled well and improved on chase debut, landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off a mark of 97 at Huntingdon last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and acts on soft and good ground. Progressive, with more to come over fences. Travelled strongly before pouncing to win a shade cosily on recent chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (18/1 -50%)Highway Hero |
18/1(-50%) | (3) Highway Hero 18/1, Outpaced and never threatened when fourth, beaten 40l, in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Plumpton last time. Considered a value selection based on the balance of form as point winner may have more to offer over fences. Well beaten in both handicap hurdles; huge improvement needed on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/8 -15%)Moor End |
15/8(-15%) | (2) Moor End 15/8, Needed every yard and improved on chase debut when beating in-form rivals to land a handicap by 1 1/2l off 92 at Uttoxeter last time. Effective around 2 1/2m and acts on good to soft and good ground. Likely to progress further over fences. Inconsistent maiden over hurdles but beat 15 rivals on recent seasonal/chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (14/1 +13%)Constant Friday |
14/1(+13%) | (6) Constant Friday 14/1, Ran to form when stepped up in trip but didn't stay, comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Fontwell last time. Effective around 2 1/2m and prefers decent ground. Not the same since a lay-off and was in moderate form last spring. Placed over 2m3f in April but has fitness to prove here; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (14/1 -17%)Ultra Viers |
14/1(-17%) | (4) Ultra Viers 14/1, Fell in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Market Rasen last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m. Remains a modest maiden under rules. 0-12 over fences but held second place before last-fence fall at Market Rasen this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (40/1 -60%)Millies Mite |
40/1(-60%) | (5) Millies Mite 40/1, Well held in a much better race, comfortably beaten in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Fontwell last time. Effective around 2 1/2m but looks on a stiff mark, which still seems high enough. Held on gamely for surprise win in April but is too unreliable to rely upon heavily. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

RIP WHEELER made the best possible start to his chasing career at Huntingdon, travelling well before justifying favouritism with something up his sleeve. The runner-up did no harm to the form by occupying the same position a few days later and the Moores' five-year-old can make it two from two. Moor End also struck on his fencing bow - at Uttoxeter at the end of last month - and must be feared. Highway Hero, a stablemate of the selection, might be the one for third.

Produced with a well-timed challenge to win on his recent chasing debut, RIP WHEELER could still be well handicapped after a 3lb rise.

1st (2) (5/4 +62%)Broomfield Aderra |
5/4(+62%) | (2) Broomfield Aderra 5/4, Showed promise on debut when third beaten 9 1/2l in a maiden hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, acts on good to soft, Irish bumper form has been franked; now with a top yard and more to come over hurdles. Kept on for third on hurdle debut at Fontwell (2m1f); can improve over this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/1 -100%)Sea Presenting |
5/1(-100%) | (5) Sea Presenting 5/1, Ran to form when second beaten 3l in a maiden hurdle over 2m5f at Huntingdon on latest start. Trainer in form; returns from a long layoff, wears a first-time tongue-tie. Consistent and acts on good to soft; shown enough to win a maiden. Fair form when placed on all three hurdling starts; ought to be in the shake-up again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (1/1 +20%)Afancy Getaway |
1/1(+20%) | (1) Afancy Getaway 1/1, Delivered a promising effort when a 23l winner in a maiden over 3m at Dromahane on debut. Returns from a long layoff and holds only a minor chance. Easily won 15-runner Irish point but 23l on debut; could be anything. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (50/1 -79%)Barafundle Bay |
50/1(-79%) | (7) Barafundle Bay 50/1, Made mistakes but showed minor promise on debut when fourth beaten 22l in a novice hurdle over 2m at Huntingdon. Effective at 2m and acts on a sound surface; may improve with experience though stamina is a concern up in trip. Low-grade Flat winner; ran okay on hurdle debut but has a lot to find here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (125/1 -279%)Ephyra |
125/1(-279%) | (8) Ephyra 125/1, Improved up in trip when second beaten 3 1/4l in a handicap over 2m at Kempton on latest start. Returns from a long layoff and looks hard to recommend. Second in low-grade AW handicap in January; makes stable/hurdle debut after ten months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (66/1 -725%)Magneticattraction |
66/1(-725%) | (4) Magneticattraction 66/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m6f at Ffos Las on latest start. Returns from a long absence; a point winner who may need more time to progress under rules. Won small-field point in 2023; pulled up on rules debut last October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (28/1 +15%)Silver Snaffles |
28/1(+15%) | (6) Silver Snaffles 28/1, Youmzain mare; full sister to Shannonvale, who was poor at 18f. Out of unraced close relative to a fair hurdler; entitled to learn from this debut outing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sea Presenting showed plenty of promise during her first hurdling campaign and has had wind surgery since finding only one too strong at Huntingdon back in February. Broomfield Aderra gave Dan Skelton something to work with when third on her first appearance for the in-form handler at Fontwell, but this can go to AFANCY GETAWAY. The five-year-old has joined Ben Pauling since running away with a point-to-point in Ireland and big things are expected of her.

The most interesting runner is AFANCY GETAWAY, who was a wide-margin Irish point winner on her debut last December

1st (5) (5/6 +70%)Noble Park |
5/6(+70%) | (5) Noble Park 5/6, Ran to form on chase debut, benefitting from a positive ride and drop in grade to land a handicap by 2 1/4l off 108 over 2m5f at Hereford last time. Effective at 2 1/2m, handles any ground, and should have more to come over fences. 0-6 over hurdles but was a good winner on recent seasonal/chase debut at Hereford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (10/3 -105%)Vanderpoel |
10/3(-105%) | (1) Vanderpoel 10/3, Finished a 25l third in a beginners' chase over 2m at Uttoxeter on latest start; effective at 2m and acts on good to soft ground. Yard's horses often improve for chasing, so likely to progress when stepped up in trip. Well held when third behind two very useful rivals on chase debut; this race is easier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/2 -63%)Gold In The Rivers |
13/2(-63%) | (4) Gold In The Rivers 13/2, Ran to form on chase debut back from a break when second, beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap chase here last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and acts on any ground; should improve for that initial experience. Below form over hurdles last season but ran well in defeat over C&D on recent chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (18/1 +10%)Lylian |
18/1(+10%) | (6) Lylian 18/1, Made mistakes and was outpaced when needing the run on stable debut, finishing 22l third in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Ascot last time. Effective from 2m1f to 2m6f and suited by some cut in the ground; chase winner in France but on a stiff mark. Won over fences in France in June but well held when last of three on British debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (2) (16/1 -167%)Blue Las |
16/1(-167%) | (2) Blue Las 16/1, Got first run and ran to form on handicap debut, winning by 2l off a mark of 120 at Uttoxeter last time. Well treated on Graded hurdle form and likely has more to offer over fences. Strong claims. 2-4 over hurdles; makes chasing debut after eight-month absence but looks a good prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (17/2 +23%)Tintintin |
17/2(+23%) | (3) Tintintin 17/2, Flattened out up the hill and possibly failed to stay when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham latest; needs to find a bit more to feature here with stamina concerns on chase debut. 4-17 over hurdles; makes chase debut from workable mark but others may have more potential. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

While each of these are open to any amount of progress over fences, it is hard to look past NOBLE PARK. Nicky Henderson's charge made an instant impact at Hereford and a 6lb rise looks fair, while recent stable form is a real positive too. Useful hurdler Blue Las gets on well with Dylan Johnston and is of some interest, as is Vanderpoel, who should be much sharper for last month's chasing bow.

The suggestion is GOLD IN THE RIVERS, who ran a big race when second over C&D on his recent chasing debut.

1st (3) (8/15 +52%)Mossy Fen Road |
8/15(+52%) | (3) Mossy Fen Road 8/15, Raced keenly and did not find much after but ran to form when down the field in the Grade 2 Weatherbys nhstallions.co.uk NH Flat Race over 2m1f at Aintree; wears a tongue-tie for the first time; looks an likely alternative. Easily won Wetherby bumper on rules debut in February; should have good future over jumps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/4 -40%)Mondo Man |
7/4(-40%) | (2) Mondo Man 7/4, Stable won this race last year. Came close to matching French form when fourth beaten 3l in the Ormonde Stakes (Group 3) over 1m5f at Chester last time; chased home Grade 1 winner on hurdle debut; open to further progress and sets standard. Smart Flat racer; made the frame in two good-quality juvenile hurdles last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/1 -144%)Dutch Corner |
11/1(-144%) | (1) Dutch Corner 11/1, Promising bumper debut when third beaten 3l in a bumper at Warwick on debut; wears a hood for the first time but needs to find plenty more. Kept on for third of 11 in good-ground Warwick bumper in March; has obvious potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (150/1 -50%)Reteti |
150/1(-50%) | (4) Reteti 150/1, Showed greenness and needed the run on hurdle debut when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Kempton last time; yet to show much in either code. Showed ability in bumpers/on the Flat but finished last on recent hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (100/1 -25%)Somkiyr |
100/1(-25%) | (5) Somkiyr 100/1, Ran to form when second beaten 3l in a 9f handicap at Lyon-La Soie last time; returning from a long layoff and hard to recommend. Fair Flat racer when based in France but faces tough task on this hurdling debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MONDO MAN chased home a number of talented rivals before coming up short in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham, and he was by no means disgraced in the Ormonde at Chester in May. He has an absence to overcome, but so do likely dangers Dutch Corner and Mossy Fen Road. Both merit respect but if performing to the same level as last term, Gary and Josh Moore's charge should prove difficult to beat.

Very talented Flat racer MONDO MAN showed useful form in juvenile hurdles last season and gets the verdict over Mossy Fen Road.

1st (6) (4/1 -45%)Getaway With You |
4/1(-45%) | (6) Getaway With You 4/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 7l in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Effective between 2½m and 3m, acts on good to soft, and remains a frustrating maiden. 0-24 over hurdles but kept on well for second at Ffos Las this month; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (28/1 +0%)Court One |
28/1(+0%) | (9) Court One 28/1, Below form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m5f at Plumpton last time. Bred to be effective at 2m4f and further but may need more time. Yet to show any significant promise and makes handicap debut from 7lb out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/2 -13%)Dartmouth Rose |
9/2(-13%) | (3) Dartmouth Rose 9/2, Scored by 2l off 83 at Fakenham on her penultimate start and ran to form when fourth, beaten 11l off 86 last time. Effective from 2½m to 3m, acts on good to soft and good ground, and is consistent. Not at best behind Itaintmebabe last time but has good claims if judged on earlier form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (28/1 -56%)Simon The Seagull |
28/1(-56%) | (7) Simon The Seagull 28/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Fontwell last time. Effective around 2m on soft ground but inconsistent at a low level. 0-8 over hurdles; placed here (2m) last season but absent since a poor run in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (12/1 -9%)Itaintmebabe |
12/1(-9%) | (2) Itaintmebabe 12/1, Won by 8½l off 81 at Fakenham on his penultimate start. Made a bad error when seventh, beaten 35l off the same mark last time. Effective around 2½m, acts on good to soft, and should stay 3m. Has been busy and may need a break. Won slowly run race on last month's handicap debut; held off same mark soon afterwards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (33/1 -83%)Engaging Sam |
33/1(-83%) | (8) Engaging Sam 33/1, Not clear run and may want a bit further when beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Fontwell last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective around 2m and an exposed maiden. 0-9 over hurdles; ran quite well on latest outing in March but has fitness to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (10/11 +44%)Defi Nonantais |
10/11(+44%) | (1) Defi Nonantais 10/11, Outpaced but rallied when second, beaten 5l in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Fontwell last time. Trainer in form; effective around 2½m and has looked a stayer. Fair mark on novice form and has run well fresh. Absent since last October's Fontwell second but resumes on very tempting mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (16/1 +11%)Ballybay |
16/1(+11%) | (5) Ballybay 16/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle here last time and has been absent for a very lengthy period. Usually held up and effective around 2m on soft ground. Highly tried in novices, could do better now handicapping but stamina to prove. Well beaten in three hurdles for Gary Moore in early 2024; makes stable/handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (20/1 -150%)Dreamweaver |
20/1(-150%) | (4) Dreamweaver 20/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Plumpton last time. Formerly a useful Flat performer who is effective around 2½m but needs to prove his ability remains after a long layoff. Generally disappointing since returning from mammoth absence this summer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Dartmouth Rose didn't appear to have any real excuses last time, but she had been holding her form well prior and may well bounce back. Joe Tizzard has his string in fine form so Defi Nonantais must enter calculations, despite having spent over a year on the sidelines, but it is GETAWAY WITH YOU who shades preference. The seven-year-old was unfortunate to come up against a progressive rival at Ffos Las recently and this might be a good time to make amends.

We haven't seen DEFI NONANTAIS (nap) since October 2024 but he has an excellent chance in this modest race if ready to roll.
Ths is the racecard key.
