NICKELFORCE made the perfect start to life over fences when scoring readily at Stratford last month and, with the promise of more to come, he gets the vote to defy a 6lb rise in the ratings. Superbolt was a pleasing second on his stable debut for Nigel Twiston-Davies over hurdles at Perth 29 days ago and may well improve for this switch to chasing. He and Irish raider Rock On Pedro are the pair feared most.

NICKELFORCE didn't put a foot wrong with his jumping at Stratford on his chasing debut and he's fancied to maintain his unbeaten record in this sphere at the possible expense of Fashion's Model, who scored with an improved showing at Wincanton 6 months ago. Superbolt looks an interesting chasing debutant for an in-form stable.

The 6yo ROCK ON PEDRO has travelled over from Ireland in search of good ground and he ran well last time out.

Kalium was purchased for 100,000 pounds shortly after winning a Killarney bumper by 19 lengths in May and he must enter calculations on his stable/hurdling debut for Tim Vaughan, but four-year-old filly LA MARQUISE gets the nod in receipt of weight. Twice a bumper scorer herself, and third in Grade 2 company at the Aintree Festival when last sighted, she clearly has plenty of ability and there seems no reason why she shouldn't take to this discipline. Jafimgoso, Stone's Throw and Oh My Johnny add further spice to the race.

Dual bumper winner LA MARQUISE appeals as the type to do well over timber and is taken to get off the mark at the first time of asking. Jafimgoso and Kalium may provide the chief threat.

This may go to LA MARQUISE who was good enough to win two bumpers and raised the bar again when third in a Grade 2 at Aintree.

DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS produced her best effort yet when chasing home the 118-rated Rockstown Girl at Chepstow earlier this month and a similar level of performance would make her tough to beat. Shakeyatailfeather came desperately close to supplementing her Newton Abbot victory at Southwell and she looks sure to be in the mix once again, despite the burden of top-weight. Geturguccion, Versace Twentyone and Sweet Caryline are others to keep an eye on.

Those with hurdle experience don't set the bar that high so a chance is taken on Alan King's GETURGUCCION, who shaped so well on the first of her 2 starts in bumpers last season. Shakeyatailfeather, Melusine de Pail and Dameofthecotswolds can give her most to do in that order.

Quite open for a mares' novice hurdle. GETURGUCCION remains a nice prospect despite blowing out in her last bumper at Cheltenham.

REGAL RENAISSANCE was only beaten a head into second over 2m4f at this venue on her most recent start in May and Henry Daly's mare merits plenty of respect off just 1lb higher on her return. Mistral Nell also hit the crossbar on her latest outing and could prove to be the main threat, ahead of Shirocco's Dream and Flintara.

FLINTARA made a positive start to her chasing career last season and is the type to do better again this time round, so she's preferred to Regal Renaissance in an open-looking contest. Ex-pointer Kit's Coty is worthy of interest having her first go over fences.

Henry Daly's REGAL RENAISSANCE enhanced her good record here with a near-miss on her chase debut back in May.

ABSOLUTELY FINE put in a career-best effort when filling third place on his handicap debut over 2m7f at Worcester last month and that form gives him a big chance in this moderate event. Propelled and Newtonian both failed to fire on their most recent outings but are players based on previous form, while Faerie Cutlass and Prince De Juilley also make the shortlist.

If there is one of these who is better than their current mark it's surely ABSOLUTELY FINE, who shaped well when third on his handicap debut at Worcester last month and he can be expected to build on that here. Faerie Cutlass gets the nod for forecast purposes ahead of Rubys Reward.

Kim Bailey's FAERIE CUTLASS (nap) needs further than the 2m3f she ran over a month ago so that was a good run all things considered.

The hat-trick seeking R Bernard has to be of interest on his return to action, but marginal preference is for OPERA KING. The four-year-old only found one too good on his handicap bow at Market Rasen last month and that recent run could just give him the edge. Horizon D'or edges out Pearl Island and G'day Aussie to be best of the rest.

Preference is for OPERA KING, who found improvement when runner-up at Market Rasen last month and remains relatively low mileage. Horizon d'Or and R Bernard are feared most.

The time may be nearing where PEARL ISLAND proves his future is rosier over stayers' trips. R Bernard rates the logical danger.

A ready winner over timber at Huntingdon 16 days ago, BALLINTUBBER BOY is an attractive option as he's turned out again quickly off just 5lb higher for his chasing debut with ground conditions still in his favour. That is not to underestimate Inoui Machin, whose recent hurdles success at Kempton should also have set him up nicely for his own first run over fences. Any rain would be a bonus for Ask Brewster, who shades Madaket as the pick of the remainder.

INOUI MACHIN doubled his tally over hurdles tackling his longest trip to date at Kempton back in May and with the prospect of him being an even better chaser, Neil Mulholland's 6-y-o is fancied to make the perfect start over fences at the expense of Ballintubber Boy, who made it 3 wins from as many starts at Huntingdon recently and now heads over the larger obstacles. Madaket can fill out third spot.

Proven stayer BALLINTUBBER BOY would cope with a dryout and is favoured of these four chasing debutants, ahead of Inoui Machin.

IONITY justified good support in the betting when he got off the mark over hurdles at Ffos Las in May and appears to have enough scope for progression to cope with a 4lb higher mark on his return. Similarly, The Dark Edge was a ready winner at Plumpton most recently and he can make his presence felt if he's not anchored by a 7lb higher rating. Sanda Rena and Greenways are a couple of other potential improvers to consider.

DOM BOSCO offered little in a brace of handicap chases early last season and has been off since, but he's been given a major chance by the assessor ahead of this comeback over hurdles and is taken to capitalise on that generosity. The Dark Edge did well under the circumstances at Plumpton last month and is respected from a 7 lb higher mark, while Ionity appeals as the type who could have more to offer.

Up in trip and dropping back from 0-110 company, CRAC DE MEGAUDAIS could surprise last-time scorers The Dark Edge and Ionity.
