1st (5) (7/4 +30%)Tzarmix |
7/4(+30%) | (5) Tzarmix 7/4, Ran to form when third, beaten 9l, in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time; effective at 3m on decent ground; has dropped in the weights after a moderate year. 2m3f winner; not disgraced on last two runs but in need of a favour from the handicapper.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (7/1 -211%)Walkinthewoods |
7/1(-211%) | (7) Walkinthewoods 7/1, Outpaced and never threatened when fourth, beaten 13l, in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Hereford last time; effective at 2½m; well treated on recent chase form and should build on that effort up in trip. Hurdle/chase winner; below par latest; drops 2lb; could be competitive with 10lb claimed.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/1 +55%)Swift Jet |
9/1(+55%) | (4) Swift Jet 9/1, Pulled up in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter latest; wears cheekpieces for the first time; effective from 2½m to 3m on good to soft; currently out of form. Third in a C&D maiden hurdle; below that level since; cheekpieces now tried.. |

12/1(-9%) | (1) Face D'music 12/1, Pulled up in a 3m2f handicap chase at Uttoxeter last time; out of form returning from a break and has a bit to find. 3m1f hurdle/chase winner; below par since wind surgery; drops 3lb; bit to prove.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (8/1 -7%)Jeu D'opale |
8/1(-7%) | (6) Jeu D'opale 8/1, Pulled up in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee latest; returning from a long layoff; effective around 2¼m on good to soft; out of form since leaving France. 2m2f chase winner; has dropped 9lb for last two defeats; no surprise if he shows more.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (9/1 -50%)Aslukgoes |
9/1(-50%) | (3) Aslukgoes 9/1, Made mistakes and possibly failed to stay when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last time; effective from 2m to 2½m and suited by good ground; yet to build on promise of Listed bumper win. Triple bumper and novice hurdle winner on good; below par latest; slow ground a concern.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (11/1 -10%)Little Dipper |
11/1(-10%) | (8) Little Dipper 11/1, Pulled up in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter latest; effective at 2½m on good ground; inconsistent and struggling in handicaps. Any of his third-placed novice efforts would give him claims but has a bit to prove now.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TZARMIX showed much more when finishing third at Uttoxeter in June and that form gives him a big chance in a moderate event such as this. If he were to need the run, then Walkinthewoods would be the most likely beneficiary after his fourth at Hereford a month ago. The rest have questions to answer, but Aslukgoes is the clear pick of them.

The tentative suggestion is French chase winner JEU D'OPALE, who steps up in trip from a workable mark.

1st (4) (33/1 +0%)No Guarantee |
33/1(+0%) | (4) No Guarantee 33/1, Did not find much and finished down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Fontwell last time; effective at 2m2f and remains a modest maiden. Two starts for this yard resulted in heavy defeats in basement handicaps last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (4/11 +45%)Hopeless Dancer |
4/11(+45%) | (1) Hopeless Dancer 4/11, Outpaced but showed promise when finishing a 10l third in the Introductory Hurdle over 2m5f here last time; effective at 2m5f and should improve when dropped in grade. Last of three on hurdle debut here (2m5f) but that still sets the standard; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (8/1 -129%)Miracles Do Happen |
8/1(-129%) | (2) Miracles Do Happen 8/1, Far too free and well beaten in a bumper over 1m7f at Wincanton last time; had been in good form beforehand but needs to find more. Flopped last time but previous bumper form makes her of interest on this hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

9/2(-13%) | (3) Estate Planning 9/2, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time; effective at 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground but has been out of form this term. 0-10 over hurdles and beaten a long way in two modest handicaps since October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (125/1 -150%)Western Ginny |
125/1(-150%) | (5) Western Ginny 125/1, Yet to show any real ability and still searching for suitable conditions over hurdles; has everything to prove for now. Nothing to show for two starts; early days but not easy to recommend, even in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (10/1 +60%)Barbie Girlz |
10/1(+60%) | (6) Barbie Girlz 10/1, Outpaced and never threatened when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las last time; effective at 2m and acts on soft ground but has plenty to prove. Has been struggling but yard has handed her a racing weight and may get involved this time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HOPELESS DANCER placed in all three bumper starts and, while he was last of three on his hurdling debut here last month, the four-year-old is clearly the one to beat in a very weak contest. Miracles Do Happen disappointed in a bumper last time but is a player based on her previous efforts. The rest make very little appeal on recent evidence, but Estate Planning completes the shortlist.

Murky stuff and BARBIE GIRLZ gets a tentative vote receiving weight from all.

1st (2) (9/2 +55%)Annsam |
9/2(+55%) | (2) Annsam 9/2, Made too much use of when comfortably held in a 3m handicap chase at Exeter last time. Effective at 3m and handles soft and good ground. Out of form but dropping in the weights could help. Falling mark but heavy defeats on last two starts; watch the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/1 -17%)Jeffery's Cross |
7/1(-17%) | (3) Jeffery's Cross 7/1, Had every chance but below form when 39l third in a Plumpton handicap chase last time. Effective from 3m to 4m1f and acts on good to soft and good ground. Generally a consistent performer. Won 3m hunter chase here in April; flopped last time but otherwise respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (10/3 +17%)Fortescue |
10/3(+17%) | (5) Fortescue 10/3, Below form on ground that was on the quick side when fourth beaten 16l in a 3m4f Cheltenham handicap chase. Effective at 3m and beyond, better with cut. No longer at his peak but well treated and can run well fresh. No wins since 2022 but can go well fresh and mark looks fine for in-form yard on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|R| (7) (17/2 -70%)Flowing Cadenza |
17/2(-70%) | (7) Flowing Cadenza 17/2, From a yard that has won two of the last five renewals. Pulled up in a 3m1f Wincanton handicap chase when returning from a long absence. Effective at 3m and on soft ground but must show her ability remains after a lengthy break. Pulled up on only start since March 2023; market should be helpful on this comeback. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (7/5 +60%)Tiny Tetley |
7/5(+60%) | (1) Tiny Tetley 7/5, Outpaced and outclassed when 23l third in a novice chase over 3m at Exeter on his latest run. Likes to race prominently and effective over 3m on good ground. A progressive hurdler last term; this easier assignment may suit though the handicapper did react in the spring. Might not be a natural chaser but this is easier than his chase debut and he's a tryer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

TINY TETLEY struggled in a valuable novice chase on his fencing bow at Exeter last month but he should be more at home now back in handicap company. He was a neck second over timber off this mark at Haydock in May and he can be given another chance here. Jeffery's Cross is a touch high in the ratings right now but should not be discounted, while Straw Fan Jack is also considered.

None of these tick every box and in the circumstances it might be worth siding with FORTESCUE, whose local yard is in good nick.

1st (4) (7/2 +56%)Tour Ovalie |
7/2(+56%) | (4) Tour Ovalie 7/2, Won this race last year but was poorly placed to challenge when well beaten in a 2m3f handicap hurdle at Exeter latest. Usually held up and effective at 2m on any going. Mark looks fair but needs a strong pace. Won this last year; quiet in 2 starts this term but likely ready for a repeat; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/2 -67%)Walkadina |
5/2(-67%) | (3) Walkadina 5/2, Didn't get home up the hill when comfortably held in a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Cheltenham last time, needing the run. Effective over 2m and acts on soft and good ground. Could build on that return dropped in trip. Solid fifth at Cheltenham (2m5f) on her return last month; drop in trip a plus; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/2 +17%)Kingston Sunflower |
5/2(+17%) | (1) Kingston Sunflower 5/2, Quickened clear cosily when winning a handicap by 2 1/4l off a mark of 117 at Huntingdon last time. Likes to race prominently and is effective over 2m on quick ground. Remains well treated on old form. Fine strike-rate for this yard and she arrives on a handicap hat-trick; much respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (3/1 +54%)Magical Maggie |
3/1(+54%) | (5) Magical Maggie 3/1, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/2l off 117 over 2m1f at Market Rasen last time. Absent for a very lengthy period since. Effective over 2m and acts on soft and good ground. Consistent and may stay a little further. Won this in 2023; signed off with good effort 17 months ago; market clues informative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (28/1 -12%)O'grady's Hill |
28/1(-12%) | (7) O'grady's Hill 28/1, Looked a big threat but didn't stay when fourth, beaten 13l, in a 3m1f handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time. Off a long absence since. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m but plenty to prove after the lay-off. 1,600gns purchase who makes stable debut in a warm affair after 408 days away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (12/1 -140%)Belle Le Grand |
12/1(-140%) | (6) Belle Le Grand 12/1, Travelled well but flattened out late when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Hexham last time. Previously in good form. Likes to race prominently, effective at 2m, and acts on good to soft and good ground. Could leave reappearance form behind down in class on handicap debut. Dual hurdle winnner; stopped quickly on return but now enters handicaps for top yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

KINGSTON SUNFLOWER has returned to hurdles this autumn in fine fettle with victories over C&D and Huntingdon. This doesn't appear to be the strongest event for the grade and Fergal O'Brien's mare has an excellent opportunity to land a hat-trick. Walkadina wasn't disgraced on her return at Cheltenham and is entitled to step forward from that effort, while Belle Le Grand appeals most of the remainder.

The majority of these hold solid claims but TOUR OVALIE won this race last year and is surely primed for a repeat bid.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/2 +38%)Nordic Tiger |
5/2(+38%) | (1) Nordic Tiger 5/2, Made too much use of when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Kelso last time; returning from a long layoff but not without a chance off fair mark on best hurdle form starting out over fences. Out of form last term but now makes his chase debut off a handy mark; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/2 -95%)Disco Annie |
13/2(-95%) | (4) Disco Annie 13/2, Bit below form when beaten 8l in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Carlisle last time; needed the run and wasn't given a hard time; usually held up and likely to improve back over fences; unlucky when last seen in this sphere. Still in contention when put out of the race in June; fair hurdle return 23 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (9/4 0%)L'empire Vert |
9/4(0%) | (6) L'empire Vert 9/4, Won by 9 1/2l off 90 here two runs ago but fell early in a handicap chase last time; effective over 2-2 1/2m and acts on any ground; remains well treated on French form. Probably lucky to win over C&D last November; fell next time; retains some potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (5/1 +55%)Chicago Storm |
5/1(+55%) | (3) Chicago Storm 5/1, Ran a little below form when beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap chase at Wincanton on his chase debut; effective over 2-2 1/4m and suited by decent ground; generally consistent but below par of late. Okay fifth on chase debut 13 days ago; needs more but that's not out of the question. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (15/8 +53%)Devon Dude |
15/8(+53%) | (2) Devon Dude 15/8, Fell in a handicap chase over 2m3f at Chepstow last time; effective over 2-2 1/2m and has more to offer over fences, though jumping needs to improve. Weakening when he fell at the last on chase debut 12 days ago; still early days. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

L'EMPIRE VERT fell at Hereford last week but the five-year-old returns to a venue where he had been successful on his chasing bow the time before. If showing no ill-effects from that mishap, Sheila Lewis' gelding has every chance to progress further. Similar comments apply to Devon Dude, who failed to complete at Chepstow and is likely to be suited by the drop to 2m. Disco Annie is another to consider.

This is trappy and a chance is taken that NORDIC TIGER can put last season behind him and come back to form on his first go over fences.

Not a foot-perfect jumper but brings untapped potential to this h'cap debut; tongue-tie on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (16/1 -220%)Zucayan |
16/1(-220%) | (3) Zucayan 16/1, May have found the ground too testing when down the field in a 10f handicap at Nottingham last time; prefers a sharper track such as this; drying ground a plus; not ruled out. Fine C&D record includes 3 wins; has to be respected on first visit here since since May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (40/1 +0%)Midnight View |
40/1(+0%) | (6) Midnight View 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time; effective at 2m and acts on good ground; still early in his career but has plenty to prove in handicaps. Pulled up both starts since handicapping; yard among the winners, though; might do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (66/1 -65%)Cogital |
66/1(-65%) | (7) Cogital 66/1, Never threatened when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Hereford last time; effective at 2m on good ground; a recent flat winner who is well treated on old hurdle form but remains inconsistent. Not sighted in either code on his last four starts; can't be considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (1/2 +78%)Inion Tiogair |
1/2(+78%) | (9) Inion Tiogair 1/2, Quickened clear and was aided by hurdles being removed, winding it up a bit early when beaten a neck off 82 over 2m1f at Doncaster last time; effective at 2m and acts on heavy and good to soft ground; longstanding maiden over hurdles but back in form. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (12/1 -33%)Saccary |
12/1(-33%) | (8) Saccary 12/1, Too keen and needed the run when fourth, beaten 21l in a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot last time; off a short break; effective at 2m and handles cut in the ground; modest hurdles form so far but could improve judged on French flat form. Little promise in four starts for this yard; still early days; market should be watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (20/1 +29%)El Gavilan |
20/1(+29%) | (5) El Gavilan 20/1, Made mistakes and ran poorly when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Hereford last time; effective at 2m and may need some cut in the ground; currently out of form. Pulled up and tailed off in two handicaps this term; work to do. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (50/1 -178%)Model Approach |
50/1(-178%) | (1) Model Approach 50/1, Outpaced and never threatened when finishing down the field in a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Exeter last time; effective at 2m on good ground and still to fulfil his juvenile promise. Tailed off in his two starts for this yard and needs to turn the ship around.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (4) (9/2 -64%)Mad Maxios |
9/2(-64%) | (4) Mad Maxios 9/2, Improved slightly from his reappearance when second, beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap hurdle at Warwick last time; effective at 2m on good ground and appears to be steadily improving. Attracted support when solid second at Warwick last time; more to come from this 4yo. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MAD MAXIOS stepped forward from his handicap/seasonal debut when finishing second at Warwick. The four-year-old remains on the same mark and has strong credentials to go one better. Inion Tiogair was knocking on the door on both starts in November and she is likely to enter calculations along with handicap debutant Wild Goose, who may also improve for the application of a tongue-tie.

Only a handful can be seriously considered and MAD MAXIOS (nap) was a creditable second last time.

14th (13) (200/1 -203%)Under The Duck |
200/1(-203%) | (13) Under The Duck 200/1, Outpaced on a poor debut when fourth, beaten 43l in a Mares bumper at Ffos Las; may already need a stiffer test. 12-1 but tailed off in five-runner bumper on her introduction (soft) last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Seven Stars ran with promise on her first start when third at Kempton in March and she is entitled to improve following wind surgery. However, the vote goes to a newcomer in the shape of JULIO COOLIO, who makes plenty of appeal being a half-sister to recent Grade 1 winner Romeo Coolio. For A Moment represents a stable who do very well in bumpers and she is considered, along with Frost Moon and Gowitdflow.

Seven Stars made a promising debut in March but it's easy to be seduced by the paper credentials of debutante JULIO COOLIO.
Ths is the racecard key.
