(7) (5/6 +0%)Senator |
5/6(+0%) | (7) Senator 5/6, Ran to form when second, beaten 1 1/4l, in a 4yo hurdle at Chepstow last time. Effective at 2m and appears to hold leading claims on that evidence; should find a race soon. Placed in his two hurdle starts, latest when runner-up at Chepstow three weeks ago.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (15/8 +0%)Macshadow Des Crai |
15/8(+0%) | (5) Macshadow Des Crai 15/8, Tired late but ran to form when comfortably held in a 4yo hurdle at Ascot last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft; his French bumper form received a big boost in the UK and he holds strong claims down in class. Faded when 13l fifth in juvenile at Ascot last month; this is easier; leading stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (3/1 +25%)My Kinda Ghaiy |
3/1(+25%) | (6) My Kinda Ghaiy 3/1, Still green and made mistakes but ran to form when 16l third in a 4yo hurdle at Wetherby last time. Effective around 2m on soft and good, and improvement is likely if his jumping sharpens up. Placed in both hurdles starts, latest when third at Wetherby last month.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (22/1 +0%)Louie The Legend |
22/1(+0%) | (4) Louie The Legend 22/1, Made too much use of when finishing down the field in a handicap at Kempton last time. Had been in good form prior to that and returns from a short break, but is hard to recommend on recent evidence. Dual winner on the Flat at 7f/1m; makes hurdle debut and is one to keep an eye on.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (28/1 -12%)Knighton |
28/1(-12%) | (2) Knighton 28/1, Bit free but improved from his debut when fourth, beaten 19l, in a 4yo hurdle at Wetherby last time. Usually held up, effective at 2m and acts on soft; probably one for handicaps after this. Fourth at Wetherby on second hurdles start last month and holds place claims.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (50/1 +0%)Flagstone |
50/1(+0%) | (1) Flagstone 50/1, Far too free and needed the run when well beaten on hurdle debut in a 4yo hurdle at Musselburgh last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time and may require more time to develop over hurdles. Eighth on stable/hurdles debut at Musselburgh last month and big improvement required.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (80/1 -60%)Law Degree |
80/1(-60%) | (3) Law Degree 80/1, Forced wide from a poor draw and finished down the field in a handicap at Southwell most recently. Trainer is in form but he has plenty to find here and faces a stiff task. Jumps debut, modest on Flat; probably best watched unless the market speaks in his favour.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (100/1 -52%)Lets Go Mo |
100/1(-52%) | (8) Lets Go Mo 100/1, Green and made mistakes when comfortably held on her debut in a 4yo hurdle at Warwick last time. Showed inexperience throughout and may need more time to learn her job. Beaten 34l when sixth of seven on hurdle debut at Warwick last month.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SENATOR built on a promising British/hurdling debut to fill the runner-up spot at Chepstow three weeks ago and could be hard to beat if improving again. My Kinda Ghaiy probably took a backward step at Wetherby but it's far too early to be writing him off, as it is with Nicky Henderson's Macshadow Des Crai, who didn't run too badly at Ascot.

The best hurdles form has been shown by SENATOR who can get off the mark here. Macshadow Des Crai is the main danger.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/4 +21%)Charisma Cat |
11/4(+21%) | (1) Charisma Cat 11/4, Did it cosily when winning a novice hurdle at Chepstow by 2l last time, benefitting from a drop in class; cheekpieces are fitted for the first time. (7) (150/1 -20%)Midnight Bella |
150/1(-20%) | (7) Midnight Bella 150/1, Outpaced and looked in need of a stiffer test when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Newcastle last time. Likely to need more time and further than 2m over hurdles. Well held in two runs in bumpers and a couple over hurdles; needs more time.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (150/1 -20%)Redeeming Love |
150/1(-20%) | (8) Redeeming Love 150/1, Improved from her debut when stepped up in trip but was comfortably held in a novice hurdle here last time. Point form suggests further could suit, but she needs more. Well beaten in both hurdles starts and this looks a tough assignment.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Watamu was getting 7lb from Khrisma when holding on for a narrow win at Huntingdon and she's likely to struggle to confirm that form but, even so, preference is for GETAWHISKY. Dan Skelton's mare fell at Ascot in November, but put that behind her to record a cosy success at Windsor and it's quite possible that she'll find further progress. Chepstow winner Charisma Cat arrives with a fair chance, and don't rule out Edith Pelham, who made a pleasing hurdles debut at Warwick.

It may pay to side with KHRISMA who is a leading contender on hurdles form and can get her revenge on Watamu.

(1) (8/1 +27%)Bobalot |
8/1(+27%) | (1) Bobalot 8/1, Ran to form when 17l third in a handicap hurdle at Southwell on his most recent run; a strong stayer at 3m who acts on any ground. In fair form and consistent, if a touch frustrating over hurdles, and unexposed over fences. Back over fences after a couple of failed attempts in November 2023.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (8/1 -14%)Worth The Walk |
8/1(-14%) | (6) Worth The Walk 8/1, Improved down in trip when second, beaten 5l, in a handicap chase here last time. Effective at 2m; a point winner who could build on that latest effort. Pulled up in her first two chases; showed more when second over C&D 16 days ago.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (50/1 -25%)Quickasican |
50/1(-25%) | (2) Quickasican 50/1, Needed the run and may not have handled conditions when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Newcastle last time; cheekpieces worn for the first time. Effective at 2m-2 1/2m and acts on S and GS; fairly treated on old form but needs to prove ability remains after a lay-off. Makes belated chase debut after being well held over hurdles three weeks ago.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Florita made it two from three over fences when keeping her unbeaten course record intact recently. She does have stamina to prove at this longer trip, though, so it might be wiser to side with ALLTALKNOACTION. The six-year-old hit the woodwork over C&D on Boxing Day but did pull well clear with the winner, meaning a 4lb rise could be lenient. Alice Stevens got a tune out of Worth The Walk last time and she won't be far away if reproducing those levels.

The mare FLORITA is 2-2 around here over fences and promises to stay this extra distance. She can take care of Alltalknoaction.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although the strength of the form is up for debate, MADAME LUNA is now three out of three and that should not be underestimated. The daughter of Sea The Moon steps into handicaps from a mark of 110, which looks fair, and her jumping is a real asset. Railway Bell went clear up the run-in at Ludlow so is likely to do even better upped in trip. The hat-trick seeking Snowrocco might still be ahead of the handicapper, despite a further 9lb hike.

In what looks a competitive handicap the unbeaten MADAME LUNA (nap) is taken to make it 4-4 with Railway Bell her main threat.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Parish Quiz burst back into life when upped to this sort of trip in the mud at Newcastle, although he isn't guaranteed to back it up so preference is for LITTLE LEDGEND. Olly Murphy's six-year-old has had to settle for second as favourite on his last two appearances, but he lost nothing in defeat and is fancied to break through. Tzarmix is holding his form well, and Aire Spray shouldn't be far away either.

Given the way he has been shaping the longer trip may unlock more improvement from the stoutly bred LITTLE LEDGEND.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ERIC CARMEN has won two of his three starts since returning and teaming up with Ben Macey, with those victories coming over the smaller obstacles. He hasn't been quite as effective in this sphere, but is able to compete from the mark from which he struck at Wetherby most recently and can take full advantage. Windsurfer is also well treated over fences and drops in class, although Tramuntana could be the bigger threat, with cheekpieces applied for his chasing debut.

While Tramuntana may be a different proposition now that he tackles fences, it is hard to get away from the free-running ERIC CARMEN

12/1(+25%) | (5) Superior Queen 12/1, Made a modest debut when beaten 24l into fourth in a maiden bumper at Uttoxeter on her first start; effective at 2m and acts on good to soft; plenty more needed. Her fourth at Uttoxeter (good/soft) was remote and will need to take a marked step forward. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Freeriding has a speedy Flat pedigree so while the trip has to be a slight concern, Olly Murphy has a good record in bumpers here so she commands attention. Even so, JESSMARVEL showed a decent level of ability when fifth at Aintree, with a couple of those in front of him tackling Listed company next time. That experience gives him the edge and Superior Queen also has a run under her belt, although she must take a step forward from her Uttoxeter fourth.

The newcomers need checking in the betting but JESSMARVEL has the benefit of experience and it was an okay run at Aintree.
Ths is the racecard key.
