1st (4) (7/4 -27%)Brixson |
7/4(-27%) | (4) Brixson 7/4, Outpaced with too much to do but improved when second, beaten 2 1/2l in a novice hurdle over 2m at Wetherby last time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground. Can improve when stepped up in trip. Ran well at Wetherby on reappearance; leading player on form and bred to do better still. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/4 +39%)So You Know |
11/4(+39%) | (1) So You Know 11/4, Outpaced and needed every yard at a sharp track, showing a very promising debut following a wind operation when winning a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon over 2m by 1/2l last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good ground but needs a bit more to defy the penalty. Got up late at Huntingdon and should build on that success; bred to rate higher still. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (4/1 -33%)Abbey Scope |
4/1(-33%) | (2) Abbey Scope 4/1, Green but very promising on debut when winning a bumper over 2m at Kelso by 3 1/4l. Looks a potential threat with promise of more to come over hurdles. Promising debut (won going away) in Kelso bumper seven months ago; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (9/1 +55%)Kop Land |
9/1(+55%) | (6) Kop Land 9/1, Green and made mistakes, needing the run when down the field in a novice hurdle over 2m at Chepstow last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft ground. Should improve for the reappearance if jumping is more fluent. May do better with Chepstow reappearance under his belt; nicely bred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (150/1 -127%)The Final Brig |
150/1(-127%) | (8) The Final Brig 150/1, Unseated in a novice hurdle over 2m4f at Wetherby last time. Best watched for now. Far from solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

300/1(-200%) | (5) Kit The Christian 300/1, Outpaced and ran poorly when down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Wetherby last time. Yet to show much and likely to need more time. Plenty to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (300/1 -50%)Blazing Nelson |
300/1(-50%) | (3) Blazing Nelson 300/1, Made mistakes and was outpaced, finishing below debut form when down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Southwell last time. Will need more time and further than 2m. Poor form in two rules attempts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (7) (10/3 -33%)Quaviste |
10/3(-33%) | (7) Quaviste 10/3, Green and made mistakes, needing the run on hurdle debut after a wind operation when well beaten in a novice hurdle over 2m at Stratford last time. Now on second run after wind surgery; effective at 2m and acts on good to soft ground. Highly tried in bumpers and could improve from hurdle debut. Skelton runner who may yet confirm the promise of debut win; second attempt over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Abbey Scope won going away on his sole bumper start at Kelso in April and is an interesting contender on his first outing over timber for the in-form Nicky Richards yard. However, BRIXSON produced a much better performance when second at Wetherby at the start of the month and could take another step forward to strike. More was expected of Quaviste when only eighth at Stratford last month and he isn't one to write off.

In terms of hurdles form, BRIXSON holds the best chance while So You Know warrants respect with further progress plausible.

1st (2) (5/1 -167%)Devon Skies |
5/1(-167%) | (2) Devon Skies 5/1, Quickened clear cosily and improved under a positive ride when dropping in trip to win a handicap by 6l off 87 over 2m4f at Sedgefield last time; effective at around 2–2½m and progressing now she's got her head in front. Maiden prior to completing a double at Sedgefield this month; respected in current form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (14/1 +22%)Time Was |
14/1(+22%) | (8) Time Was 14/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m6f at Cartmel last time; effective at about 2½–3m but an inconsistent maiden overall. Not solid on recent form and remains a maiden under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/1 +29%)Little Big Kev |
10/1(+29%) | (1) Little Big Kev 10/1, Travelled well when stepped up in trip, possibly outstayed late and may have needed the run after a wind operation when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Uttoxeter last time; effective at about 2½m, and the drop in trip looks a plus. Shaped better than the bare result on handicap debut when last seen; open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/2 -22%)After Many Days |
11/2(-22%) | (4) After Many Days 11/2, Returned to form down in trip, just flattening out late back from a break when beaten 3l off 83 over 2m4f at Hereford last time; effective at about 2½m; a frustrating maiden who could be running into form. Posted one of her better efforts last time, namely keeping-on second at Hereford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (3/1 -20%)Little Wren |
3/1(-20%) | (9) Little Wren 3/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in a novice hurdle over 2m at Worcester last time; usually held up and yet to show much; has shown little so far for a top yard, though the longer trip may help on handicap debut. Skelton runner who may improve markedly now handicapping over new trip; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (8/1 -7%)Tees Comp's Clive |
8/1(-7%) | (7) Tees Comp's Clive 8/1, Made mistakes and was unsuited by the drop in trip when second, beaten 14l, in a handicap hurdle at Kelso last time; effective at around 2½–3m; consistent and the step back up in trip could suit. Maiden who brings encouraging recent form and can't be dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (5/1 +55%)Matoury |
5/1(+55%) | (6) Matoury 5/1, Returned to form but conceded first run when 7l third in a handicap hurdle at Wetherby most recently; effective at around 2½–3m though a little inconsistent. Registered sole success over C&D; ran creditably at Wetherby last time; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (25/1 -108%)Doublethetrouble |
25/1(-108%) | (3) Doublethetrouble 25/1, Raced wide but ran to form when beaten 3l off 64 over 2m at Kempton last time; unexposed in this sphere; fair mark on flat form; represents value on the balance of form. Well treated on Flat form but not seen over hurdles since Boxing Day 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (300/1 -200%)Kilnacarra |
300/1(-200%) | (5) Kilnacarra 300/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Sedgefield last time; formerly effective around 2m and acts on good ground; tongue-tie fitted and may need another run. Has shown little in two starts since returning from long layoff. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

After Many Days finished two lengths clear of the third when filling the runner-up spot at Hereford and she could have a say, but the vote goes to DEVON SKIES. Philip Kirby's mare completed a double in comfortable fashion at Sedgefield on her most recent start and a 7lb rise might underestimate that display. In her current mood, she looks tough to oppose. Of the remainder, C&D winner Matoury appeals most.

The Verdict comprises LITTLE BIG KEV and Little Wren who both look open to improvement.

1st (4) (15/8 -25%)Lelant |
15/8(-25%) | (4) Lelant 15/8, Returned to form down in trip back on better ground when landing a handicap by 3 1/4l off 80 at Hereford last time; effective at 2 1/2m, acts on good; remains well treated on hurdle form and could follow up. Opened his account in Hereford event on reappearance; may remain competitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/2 +29%)Kapamazov |
5/2(+29%) | (3) Kapamazov 5/2, Travelled well but found little, possibly outstayed when well beaten in a handicap chase over 3m at Uttoxeter last time; effective 2 1/2-3m; a frustrating maiden and a weak finisher. Remains a maiden; makes debut for new stable (still in same ownership). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (20/1 +60%)Misteroddsocks |
20/1(+60%) | (5) Misteroddsocks 20/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Lingfield last time; effective at 2m; form so far modest and needs more. Holds weak claims on most of his form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (18/5 -44%)Sir Carnegie |
18/5(-44%) | (2) Sir Carnegie 18/5, Well treated up 7lb, improved again when winning a handicap by 3/4l off 93 over 2m7f at Kelso last time; effective 2 1/2-3m; progressing for his new yard and could still be ahead of his mark. Successful in novice handicaps the last twice and looks open to further progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (14/1 +50%)Uncle Al |
14/1(+50%) | (6) Uncle Al 14/1, Outpaced but improved on chase debut when second, beaten 17l in a handicap chase at Sedgefield last time; probably best at 2m4f, acts on good; needs to build on that debut effort. Runner-up at Sedgefield last time (chase debut) but recorded a meagre RPR. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (9/2 -13%)Gata Ban |
9/2(-13%) | (1) Gata Ban 9/2, Ran to form on chase debut when second, beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap chase at Fakenham last time; effective at 2 1/2m, acts on good to soft and good; well treated on hurdle form and should come on for that run. Ran creditably at Fakenham on chase/seasonal debut and may build on that effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (500/1 -300%)Top Drawer |
500/1(-300%) | (7) Top Drawer 500/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Plumpton last time; acts on good; a regressive maiden. Longstanding maiden who has dismal claims on recent form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The hat-trick seeking Sir Carnegie is bound to have his supporters, but is now 3lb higher than his most recent success at Kelso and that might open the door for LELANT. Evan Williams' charge bounced back to form to score by just over three lengths at this level at Hereford last month and if the seven-year-old is in similar form, he will prove hard to beat. Gata Ban completes the shortlist.

The mare GATA BAN (nap) is taken to build on her reappearance effort and go one better. Sir Carnegie is second pick.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (85/40 +39%)Tranquil Sea |
85/40(+39%) | (6) Tranquil Sea 85/40, Scored by 2l off 117 over 3m at Chepstow two starts ago; below form when sixth, beaten 11l off 123 last time; effective from 2m to 3m and in form for new yard. Had wind surgery since last run; won at Chepstow the time before; still of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (4/1 -20%)Lihyan |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (13/2 -30%)Lavida Adiva |
13/2(-30%) | (2) Lavida Adiva 13/2, Ran to form when 4 1/4l third in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Ayr on latest start; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and a consistent performer. Form since upped to 3m comprises a Listed win and two sound efforts in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/1 -38%)Secret Trix |

6th (4) (66/1 -164%)Lac De Constance |
66/1(-164%) | (4) Lac De Constance 66/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Bangor-on-Dee last time; usually held up, effective around 2 1/2m, but must prove ability remains after an absence. On a three-year losing spell and failed to complete in last two starts; new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (14/1 +13%)Hurricane Highway |
14/1(+13%) | (7) Hurricane Highway 14/1, Disappointing on hurdles return when well beaten in a 3m handicap at Wetherby; back from a long layoff, effective around 2 1/2m on softish ground but inconsistent overall. Final outing resulted in a poor effort on belated return to hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (22/1 -10%)Johnson's Blue |
22/1(-10%) | (1) Johnson's Blue 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m, though the mark looks high enough. Not solid on his form since returning from lengthy absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

LIHYAN (third) finished ahead of Tranquil Sea (sixth) in a qualifier at Newbury beind Haiti Couleurs earlier in the month. The former deserves marking up as he did best of those who were ridden patiently and, off 1lb higher, has every chance of getting back to winning ways. The latter has had wind surgery since and a quick turnaround has to be a worry. With that in mind, the main threats may come from C'est Different and Lavida Adiva.

Off bottom weight upped in class, C'EST DIFFERENT could well complete a hat-trick. Lihyan is second choice.

1/1(-37%) | (2) Paggane 1/1, Improved back over fences after her reappearance when winning the Houghton Mares' Chase (Listed) at Carlisle over 2m4f by 9 1/2l last time. Effective between 2 1/2m and 3m; a smart chaser and very useful hurdler back in form for her new yard. Comfortable win in similar event at Carlisle returned to chasing last time; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (17/2 +29%)Minniemum |
17/2(+29%) | (5) Minniemum 17/2, Yard has won two of the last five runnings. Made mistakes but improved back up in trip when winning a handicap chase at Ludlow over 3m2f by 1 1/2l last time. 11/10(+12%) | (1) Marsh Wren 11/10, Won this last year and landed the Bud Booth Mares' Chase (Listed) here by 16l last time when returning from a long layoff. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (100/1 +0%)Mini Mildred |
100/1(+0%) | (4) Mini Mildred 100/1, Improved again back from a break when winning a handicap at Bath over 1m6f by 3l last time. Absent for a very lengthy period since and has it all to do despite hurdles win in Jersey. Has done well on the mainland and in Jersey but this is much harder; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (50/1 +50%)Jalisco Star |
50/1(+50%) | (3) Jalisco Star 50/1, Outpaced and needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Ffos Las last time. Had been in good form prior; effective at 3m and acts on any ground. A progressive hurdler yet to match that form over fences and vulnerable up in grade. Still has something to prove in this sphere and faces a stiff task to boot. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Marsh Wren was an impressive winner of this prize 12 months ago before meeting with a setback that ruled her out for the rest of the campaign. The concern on her return to action is her appreciation for testing conditions and the race-fit PAGGANE might be able to take advantage. Faye Bramley has done very well with the six-year-old since acquiring her from Willie Mullins in the summer, winning a Listed event at Carlisle last time, and the step back up in trip is well within her grasp. The rest have plenty to find, with Minniemum the pick of them.

The standout contenders on ratings are the progressive mares PAGGANE (narrowly preferred) and Marsh Wren.

Good third on chase/seasonal debut at Stratford and has claims if she can back that up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (5/4 +62%)Hawkseye View |
5/4(+62%) | (6) Hawkseye View 5/4, Finished 5 1/2l third in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Huntingdon last time; second run after a wind operation; effective 2 1/2–3m, acts on good ground; in good form this year, yard going well, should come on for latest with step up in trip a plus. 0-16 under rules but he returned after wind surgery with good third at Hexham; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (13/2 -160%)Mixedwave |
13/2(-160%) | (1) Mixedwave 13/2, Ran to form when landing a handicap by a neck off 95 at Wetherby last time; effective at 3m and acts on soft and good ground; remains on a winning mark and may just need this run. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (15/2 +38%)Midnight Gold |
15/2(+38%) | (5) Midnight Gold 15/2, Outpaced but ran to form when fourth, beaten 7l in a handicap chase at Fakenham latest; effective 2 1/2–3m; unexposed over fences but needs to improve. Sole hurdles win was in 2023 and she's made a low-key start over fences this autumn. |

Only 2lb higher than for last success but he's struggled in last two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (7/1 -100%)Dunworley |
7/1(-100%) | (3) Dunworley 7/1, Travelled well and improved down in trip under positive handling, the margin exaggerated by a late faller when landing a handicap by 28l off 82 over 2m7f at Leicester last time; returning from a long layoff; effective 2 3/4–3m, acts on soft and good ground. Easy win at Leicester in March; up 11lb but he's open to more progress this season. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith team are currently in fine fettle and HAWKSEYE VIEW appears capable of improving from his first run of the season at Huntingdon. That effort came after wind surgery and the son of Telescope should have more to offer back up in distance. Seasmoke finished third on her chasing bow at Stratford and is likely to enter calculations along with Mixedwave.

The lightly raced 9yo DUNWORLEY ended last season with a runaway win Leicester and is a big player if he can pick up where he left off.

HIDDEN FORTUNE makes her Rules debut for the Skeltons after winning a point-to-point in March and the four-year-old commands the utmost respect as the yard bids to win this prize for the second year in a row. Moore Brion cost 80,000 euros at the Tattersalls Derby Sale in June 2024 and he can enter the reckoning along with fellow newcomer Hurlyburly.

Irish point winner Hidden Fortune has respectable claims, while MOORE BRION and Popalot are interesting newcomers.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
