STRESSFREE was a beaten favourite when third on his hurdling debut last month but the useful Flat performer showed enough to suggest that he can be successful in a race of this nature. Chichester has a similar profile to the selection and should not be underestimated, while Natzor won over 1m2f on the level in October and any market support for him would have to be noted.

This looks a good opportunity for STRESSFREE to build on a promising first effort over hurdles at Catterick on New Year's Day. Supreme George might be the one to follow him home unless the betting speaks in the favour of hurdle newcomer Natzor, a former stablemate of the selection.

Useful Flat performer STRESSFREE was an encouraging third at Catterick on his hurdle debut and can get off the mark in this code.

VANILLA DANCER arrives here on the back of two seconds in recent months and this appears to be an ideal opportunity for the six-year-old to go one better. Irisante has also made the frame on her last couple of starts and is an obvious threat to the selection, while Jasmine D'airy edges out Lizzie Luna to be best of the rest.

This could go the way of Lucinda Russell's point winner HAY MEADOW who shaped well on her debut in this sphere when fourth at Hexham and could take a sizeable step forward now her stamina is unlocked. Vanilla Dancer is much more exposed but arrives at the top of her game and rates a big threat, while Jasmine d'Airy and Lizzie Luna also have the form to play a part.

Bumper winner JASMINE D'AIRY was a fair fifth in a good mares' novice at Warwick last time and can post her first win over hurdles.

In a moderate event a chance can be taken with LOOKING SPLENDID, who was second off this mark over C&D in November and bits of promise can be taken from his two subsequent efforts. Good Company may improve now switched to handicap company and should not be underestimated as a result. Others to note are Coral Blue and Not In Kansas.

This certainly isn't the strongest race for the grade, and LOOKING SPLENDID has shown enough in handicaps over this sort of distance to suggest he is more than capable of winning this. Coral Blue performed with plenty of credit in a stronger race over C&D two weeks ago, so he is a danger, as is handicap-debutant Good Company who could be better than what he's shown in novice company.

The return to Musselburgh and reapplication of the tongue-tie may enable AGILULF to get off the mark in this weak race.

Bravethewaves got off the mark at the second attempt over fences at Catterick last month but the eight-year-old will need to improve again to defy a 6lb rise. With that in mind, HENRY GRAY might have a good opportunity to gain his first career victory. Donald McCain's gelding showed some promise over fences last season and is likely to improve from his hurdles run at Uttoxeter in December. Divas Doyen and Goodtimes Badtimes appear best of the remainder.

BRAVETHEWAVES proved none the worse for his spill on chasing debut when off the mark under a confident ride at Catterick last month and can defy a 6 lb rise. The low-mileage Henry Gray is of interest back over fences, while Divas Doyen is another to consider if her latest run can be forgiven.

The mare DIVAS DOYEN likes it here and earns the vote having not quite seen out Carlisle's stiff 2m5f on soft ground last time.

STAR VANTAGE has benefited from stepping up in trip in recent months with a string of consistent efforts and the son of Ocovango may have been found the ideal opportunity to finally shed the maiden tag. Take A Hike finished runner-up at Wetherby when tackling 3m for the first time and looks to be a threat off 2lb higher. Anamanda and Evenwood Sonofagun are others capable of being in the mix.

STAR VANTAGE hasn't been with the Rebecca Menzies' yard long and again ran well when chasing home a stablemate at Southwell 2 weeks ago. Clear of the remainder that day, he's one to be interested in from this sort of mark and earns the vote re-united with Brian Hughes. Take A Hike and Anamanda are others fancied to feature, with handicap-debutante Reflection Of You another to note, particularly if the market spoke in her favour.

The step up to a staying trip has suited STAR VANTAGE and he can break his duck. The unexposed 7yo Take A Hike could be the danger.

Following a C&D success, Cardamon Hill failed to complete a hat-trick when finishing third over an extended 2m4f here last time, but this step back up in trip might see him get closer off a 1lb lower mark. Even so, JEM IN EM looks the way to go. Lucinda Russell's seven-year-old occupied the runner-up berth in a deeper contest over 3m6f at Newcastle in November and could take full advantage of an unchanged rating. Hold Onto The Line is looks best with Brian Hughes booked.

JEM IN EM is less exposed than these over fences so can build on his very good Newcastle second last time out and gain a first win in this sphere. In-form C&D scorer Cardamon Hill rates a big danger however, while Hold Onto The Line and Whosmydaddy also need factoring into this open handicap chase.

With this trip perhaps not ideal for his chief rivals Hold Onto The Line and Jem In Em, CARDAMON HILL (nap) has a good chance.

HEART ABOVE justified favouritism over track and trip in November and only has a 5lb higher rating to contend with today. Dianne Sayer's seven-year-old has lots in his favour as he bid to make it three wins out of his last four starts, with his main threat possibly being Milajess, who produced a much better effort when second at Sedgefield earlier in the month. Of the remainder, Inoue makes the most appeal after his third-placed effort at Catterick last month.

MILAJESS is a long-standing maiden but she did bump into a handicap blot at Sedgefield last week and this might finally be her day. Heart Above was at the top of his game when last seen in November and heads the dangers along with Trailblazer. Handicap-newcomer King Ulanda would also be of interest if the betting vibes are strong.

This could go to JET PATROL on his first run since wind surgery. He looks to be on a handy mark on his best C&D form.
