15:45 Musselburgh (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CODE PURPLE has a good course record of three wins and three seconds from six starts. Although not at his best at Newcastle last month, he could be worth another chance back on turf. Shine On Brendan finished last season with wins at Hamilton and Ayr and is entitled to go close on his return to action, leaving Rainwater as a potential improver if he retains the speed needed for the drop back to a mile.

None of these fully convince but maybe SPUN TO GOLD can rediscover some form, dropping in class from handy draw after five months off.

16:15 Musselburgh (Class 2) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Six unraced horses and the Brocklesby 12th to work with here, and a chance is taken on STAR MATERIAL, Adrian Keatley's first juvenile runner of the season. Bred to be speedy as a son of Starman out of an unraced sister to Ardad, the stable's horses are running well enough to suggest he can have a big say. Kevin Ryan won this last year with Barrak and will be hoping for a big run from Pinatubo colt Dickensian who is worth a market watch, leaving Harswell Calling as another to consider, especially with his racecourse experience a possible advantage.

Most of the newcomers have good credentials, particularly DICKENSIAN (narrowly preferred) and Clear Force.

16:45 Musselburgh (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Trainer Jim Goldie won this last year with American Affair and is back for more with three runners headed by Eternal Sunshine, the mount of Paul Mulrennan who finished seventh here last time out after missing the break. She can go well, but if Irish raider ONLY SPOOFING is at his best, he could prove hard to beat. Now aged 11, he is race-fit after a third at Bellewstown last time out, and with three wins from four starts here he clearly loves the track. Stash The Cash and Catch Cunningham are others to consider in a fascinating renewal.

This is really competitive but ALLIGATOR ALLEY was formerly rated much higher and shaped well enough on his stable debut.

17:15 Musselburgh (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Narrowly denied over C&D on his latest start in November, SPANISH HUSTLE may look like the second string behind the progressive Letsbefrank of the Jim Goldie trio, but he must hold every chance with Kaiya Fraser taking off a valuable 3lb once more. A determined winner on his first start for the James Owen team at Southwell, Sportingsilvermine may have plenty more to come over further off 2lb higher, while It's A Love Thing is another arriving in excellent form, having won two of his last three starts on the all-weather.

Particularly interesting is SPORTINGSILVERMINE (nap), who brings lots of positives. Letsbefrank is second choice.

17:45 Musselburgh (Class 3) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

MARHABA GHAIYYATH continues to go from strength to strength and a mark of 84 on his handicap debut may prove lenient as he looks to bring up the hat-trick with Joe Fanning taking over in the saddle. Gelded since a taking success at Redcar in November, Magellan Cloud could be one to follow over further as a three-year-old, while similar comments may apply to Springbok, who ended last season with a promising fifth at Beverley.

There are others who bring potential but topweight MARHABA GHAIYYATH may well bring the most.

18:15 Musselburgh (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

STOCKPYLE ran a race full of promise when finishing second in a first-time tongue-tie (retained) at Doncaster a fortnight ago. A 2lb rise will be no problem for Sam England's gelding and he is taken to go one place better, espeically boasting a fitness edge over some of today's rivals. Vince Le Prince was last seen winning at Catterick in October but does have the ability to go well when fresh, while others to note include Hectic and Rock Melody.

With the form of his last-time win very strong, VINCE LE PRINCE is preferred. Second choice is Stockpyle.

18:45 Musselburgh (Class 2) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Although below-par in both his runs since returning to action, GWEEDORE has been given a real chance by the handicapper and now back on the grass where he has been most effective previously, it would come as no surprise were he to bounce back. Oriental Prince completed his hat-trick at Southwell recently but remains unexposed on turf. Top weight Ramazan merits plenty of respect, as does Dain Ma Nut In, who returns from a 206-day absence in search of a four-timer.

Back in slightly calmer waters, useful RAMAZAN is taken to defy top weight. Dain Ma Nut In is second choice.
