33/1(-65%) | (3) Bruce Banner 33/1, Bit free and well beaten in a handicap over 12f at Newcastle on latest start; faces a stiff task here. Two 1m4f AW wins at an ordinary level but pretty poor in three runs since September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (5/4 +69%)Keyboard |
5/4(+69%) | (7) Keyboard 5/4, Ran to form when 2l third in a handicap over 1m6f at Redcar most recently; looks a value selection on the balance of his form. Ran well on the Flat last time and handed a realistic assignment for hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (16/1 -45%)Bouboule |
16/1(-45%) | (2) Bouboule 16/1, Outpaced and below form back on the Flat, beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap over 10f at Newcastle last time. Effective at 2m and may have more to offer based on his Flat form, though probably in handicaps. 11-race maiden under both codes and doesn't exactly have the wind in his sails. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/4 -120%)Arctic Voyage |
11/4(-120%) | (1) Arctic Voyage 11/4, Bit too free but made a very promising debut when second, beaten 2l in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Sedgefield last time. Effective at 2m and acts on heavy and good ground; suspected wind issue but debut form was strong and he could win soon. Never raced past 7f on the Flat; ran well to be second on hurdle debut; sharper test here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (11/1 -83%)Junkyard Dog |
11/1(-83%) | (6) Junkyard Dog 11/1, Green with mistakes and a poor run when fourth, beaten 34l in a juvenile hurdle over 2m1f at Cartmel last time. Off a short break; effective 10-12f on Flat and 2m over hurdles, acts on good and soft; Irish form franked at Listed level and could bounce back. 1m2f winner; this might be easier than at Cartmel last time when he hit the last. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (4/1 +67%)French Diablo |
4/1(+67%) | (5) French Diablo 4/1, 7,500 euros Buck's Boum gelding; yard not known for debut winners. 7,500euros yearling; third foal; brother to French 2m1f hurdle winner Ming Zhu Enki. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (18/1 -140%)Canavan |
18/1(-140%) | (4) Canavan 18/1, Outpaced and never threatened when beaten 9l in a handicap over 10f at Haydock last time. Returning from a break and needs to find plenty more. Limited Flat maiden but could make a better hurdler as should stay okay. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (100/1 -100%)Red Scarlet |
100/1(-100%) | (9) Red Scarlet 100/1, Outpaced and never threatened when comfortably held in a juvenile hurdle at Catterick last time. This is her second run after wind surgery and she remains a maiden on the Flat and over hurdles. Went backwards on the Flat and needed to show a lot more in first hurdle race at Catterick. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

After a promising start to his career, ARCTIC VOYAGE endured a disappointing three-year-old campaign on the level but showed more spark when runner-up on his jumping bow at Sedgefield. The winner has run well again since, while the third has come out and won, so the form is solid. Junkyard Dog would be dangerous on his Irish form but maybe it is worth looking to a hurdling newcomer for the chief threat, with Keyboard possibly the pick of them.

His useful Flat form was shy of a mile but ARCTIC VOYAGE still ran well on his hurdling debut and he's on a flatter track here.

Made errors and flopped last time; major player if judged on two previous efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

20/1(-67%) | (7) Getaway Jewel 20/1, Never competitive when finishing down the field in a handicap chase over 2m1f at Worcester last time. In good form prior and suited by 2m on good ground; that was a rare modest effort and needs to bounce back. Largely in good form this season but didn't fire last time and is best on good ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (5/2 +62%)Stylish Recruit |
5/2(+62%) | (3) Stylish Recruit 5/2, Below par when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Ayr last time. Effective over 2m but yet to convince with stamina for further; currently out of form. Stayed on for third at Hexham in May but has disappointed twice this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (15/2 +17%)Restandbethankful |
15/2(+17%) | (4) Restandbethankful 15/2, Did not find much up the hill when fourth, beaten 17l, in a handicap chase over 2m1f at Kelso last time. Effective at 2m, likes to lead, but currently out of form. Well below best form this year and finished very tired when fourth at Kelso last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HEAVEN SMART's jumping let him down at Perth but he was in fine form before it, tasting success at the same venue before almost backing it up at Southwell. That earns him another chance, while Getaway Jewel is another on a retrieval mission after his solid level of consistency came to an abrupt end at Worcester. Divas Doyen made a decent return from a break when third at Kelso and could get involved in the finish.

Another chance is given to HEAVEN SMART, who flopped last time but looked revitalised by a wind op on his previous two outings.

20/1(-67%) | (2) Elemental Eye 20/1, Ran to form when beaten 3 1/2l in a 12f handicap at Newcastle last time; returns from a short break and needs to find more. Won on the Flat here last month (1m6f, RPR 72); could have a say if he takes to hurdling. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CHANONRY POINT won a bumper here in March and she showed plenty of promise, despite being a beaten favourite, when filling second place on her hurdling debut at Perth. With the benefit of that experience, the five-year-old could be hard to hold out. The consistent Centurion's Sister is likely to be in the mix once again, while Titanium has to be noted now reverting to timber having won a competitive Curragh handicap earlier in the month.

This may be fought out by old rivals CHANONRY POINT and Centurion's Sister. The former can take a 3-0 lead in their private series.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

It is hard to oppose MAGNOLIA, who arrives here on the back of two impressive wins at Kelso. A 7lb penalty for the latest of those victories leaves her 4lb well-in and that should be enough to see the six-year-old complete a hat-trick. Lowlands has to be noted on her handicap debut and she edges out Parisian Fashion to be best of the rest.

The most obvious answer is MAGNOLIA, who moves back up in trip after two convincing 2m Kelso wins this autumn and is 4lb well in.

4/1(-14%) | (7) Prospect House 4/1, Ran to form when beaten 2l off 83 over 2m1f at Newcastle last time. Consistent on sound ground. Won twice in the spring and is still in good form but may need genuine good ground. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MY PORTIA bounced back to form when filling second place over 2m at Hereford on her seasonal return a few weeks ago. The daughter of Telescope is entitled to benefit from that outing and tops the shortlist as a result. Prospect House has been extremely consistent this year and is an obvious threat, while similar comments apply to Independent Jimmy.

Ewan Whillans' SCOTS POET, a dual course winner over hurdles, ought to have this race run to suit his patient tactics and gets the nod.

5th (2) (7/1 -8%)Ravenscraig Castle |
7/1(-8%) | (2) Ravenscraig Castle 7/1, Ran to form but probably made too much use of when fourth, beaten 11l, in a handicap hurdle at Perth last time; returning from a break and remains well treated on Flat form; consistent. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A few with chances, but preference is for CITY OF DIAMONDS, who was unfortunate to bump into a progressive Gordon Elliott inmate at Perth in September. Thrust into handicaps from a mark of 110, the five-year-old looks fairly treated and is taken to repel the challenge of Sedgefield winner Jolie Coeur Allen. Russian Virtue has won over track and trip previously and shouldn't be underestimated, nor should the class-dropping Ravenscraig Castle.

The suggestion is RAVENSCRAIG CASTLE (nap), who began 2025 with three creditable runs in competitive handicaps at this track.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Gregor Walkingshaw got a decent tune out of SNOW DRAGON when third at Perth latest, and he heads a three-pronged assault from the Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore outfit. The unexposed gelding is open to plenty of improvement, especially now upped in trip. Stable companion Two Auld Pals didn't run badly at Kelso, and Maillot Blanc looks more than capable having struck the woodwork at Kelso recently.

Low-mileage 4yo SNOW DRAGON made a pleasing seasonal debut over 2m last month and gets the vote over this new trip.
Ths is the racecard key.
