1st (1) (11/8 +21%)Highland Crystal |
11/8(+21%) | (1) Highland Crystal 11/8, Improved from debut when winning Listed Fillies' Juvenile Hurdle at Newbury by 6 1/2l last time; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on HY; surely has more to offer but she does have a penalty. 2-2 hurdling, impressive at Newbury though second well beaten since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (7/1 -56%)Saratoga |
7/1(-56%) | (6) Saratoga 7/1, Improved nicely on a modest debut when third, beaten 3l, in a maiden hurdle here on his most recent run. Effective at 2m with cut and, as an ex-Ballydoyle runner, should have more to offer. Needs to jump better than over C&D last month; potential remains. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (14/1 -211%)Munsif |
14/1(-211%) | (5) Munsif 14/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a hot 4yo hurdle at Fairyhouse last time and was not given a hard time. Effective at 2m with cut and is probably one for handicaps. Leopardstown debut promise not backed up at Fairyhouse; first experience of soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (11/10 +63%)Kilmeaden |
11/10(+63%) | (2) Kilmeaden 11/10, Strong at finish, scored with bit in hand when winning a graduation hurdle at Punchestown by 2 1/4l last time; effective at 2m on Hy; should improve further. Responded well to pressure for recent Punchestown maiden win; type to continue to progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (20/1 -233%)Genealogy |
20/1(-233%) | (3) Genealogy 20/1, Had too much to do behind the all-the-way winner when second, beaten 4l, in a 4yo hurdle at Ascot latest. Improved for debut experience, is effective at 2m and is surely capable of better. Ascot second a definite step in the right direction but more likely needed here. |

SARATOGA has been placed on both outings over hurdles and didn't enjoy the clearest of passages when a promising third over C&D last month. On that evidence, he gets the vote. Highland Crystal is an obvious threat having scored in fine style on both hurdle starts, including a Listed race at Newbury, while Kilmeaden provided Donnacha O'Brien with his first jumps winner at Punchestown last month.

Kilmeaden warrants plenty of respect after a gutsy maiden win but the filly HIGHLAND CRYSTAL can complete the hat-trick

1st (3) (11/8 +66%)Raise You Up |
11/8(+66%) | (3) Raise You Up 11/8, Improved nicely to get off the mark when winning an auction hurdle at Limerick by 4 1/4l last time; effective 2m3f, act on soft to heavy; looks promising, good chance in this. Limerick maiden winner needs to step up but stamina test will suit; claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (2/1 +11%)Grey Jude |
2/1(+11%) | (1) Grey Jude 2/1, Confirmed debut level and showed a good attitude when winning a maiden hurdle at Cork by a head last time. Off a short break, effective at 2m, acts on yielding, and has more to offer up in trip. Front-running Cork maiden winner should stay this longer trip although first try on soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (13/2 -247%)Dunleer Crystal |
13/2(-247%) | (5) Dunleer Crystal 13/2, Yard won this last year; improved for debut experience when second beaten 2 1/4l in an auction hurdle at Down Royal latest; effective 2m, acts on S; from good yard, should have more to offer. Strong-finishing Down Royal second; Jack Kennedy takes over and longer trip should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/2 +13%)Mullaghgloss |
7/2(+13%) | (2) Mullaghgloss 7/2, Improved on handicap debut when fourth, beaten 6l, in the QuinnBet Handicap Hurdle (Listed) at Limerick latest. Effective at 2m, acts on soft to heavy and good, and has a sound chance in this. Didn't convince on testing ground latest; others may have more scope for improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (50/1 +0%)Diamond Secret |
50/1(+0%) | (4) Diamond Secret 50/1, Showed some promise on debut when well beaten in an auction hurdle at Thurles on his only start. Effective at 2m4f with cut, and improvement is likely. Never landed a blow when midfield on last month's Thurles maiden debut; hard to fancy. |

GREY JUDE has progressed steadily this season and appears to have been found a decent opportunity of adding to his maiden hurdle victory if handling these testing conditions. Dunleer Crystal showed much-improved form when runner-up on better ground at Down Royal's Christmas meeting and the third, Champagne Jury, has won since. Raise You Up is proven on heavy ground having won a Limerick maiden last time.

A likely decent pace could set this up for the lightly-weighted DUNLEER CRYSTAL, who was set plenty to do at Down Royal

1st (5) (8/15 +7%)Jalon D'oudairies |
8/15(+7%) | (5) Jalon D'oudairies 8/15, Improved up in trip when second, beaten 1/2l, in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown last time. Effective at 2m-2m4f, with strong bumper form, and retains potential over hurdles. Former smart bumper horses, two defeats hurdling after a layoff, chance to make amends. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/1 +58%)Healys Pub |
5/1(+58%) | (4) Healys Pub 5/1, Made a promising debut over hurdles when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m on yielding ground and improvement is likely. Noted staying on for fifth in a 2m maiden here last month, this longer trip should help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (25/1 0%)Umpire's Call |
25/1(0%) | (7) Umpire's Call 25/1, Improved back up in trip when finishing 12l third in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse last time, having the run of the race. Effective at 2m-2m4f with cut, but more is needed to win and handicaps may suit better. Fair third at Punchestown, this is a stronger race and he will need to jump better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (50/1 +0%)Private Policy |
50/1(+0%) | (6) Private Policy 50/1, Showed some promise on his hurdles debut up in trip when 19l third in a maiden hurdle at Thurles last time, tried in a tongue-tie. Effective at 2m-2m7f on heavy, but the drop in trip may not suit. Flattered by a third placing at this Thurles but at least he coped with testing going. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (100/1 -52%)Ballindenisk |
100/1(-52%) | (2) Ballindenisk 100/1, Again made no impact when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Thurles most recently. Effective at 3m in points, but is likely to need further and a move into handicaps. Beat the smart Kazansky in a maiden point, undistinguished form in three racecourse starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (66/1 -32%)Deise Crystal |
66/1(-32%) | (3) Deise Crystal 66/1, Showed a similar level to his debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Thurles last time. Looks the type to do better once switched to handicaps. Could be one for handicaps in time judged on his staying-on run behind El Cairos last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (66/1 +34%)Blue Moon Boy |
66/1(+34%) | (11) Blue Moon Boy 66/1, Again failed to threaten when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle here last time. A multiple Flat winner, but has plenty to prove over hurdles, including his stamina. Two wins on the Flat, has failed to make an impact in two juvenile hurdles. up against it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (125/1 -25%)Ina Mina |
125/1(-25%) | (8) Ina Mina 125/1, Showed a small improvement when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel last time. Effective at 2m1f on heavy and looks the type to do better in handicaps. Won a good-ground 1m4f Tramore handicap last July, little impact in two runs over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (33/1 +34%)Awordinyourear |
33/1(+34%) | (1) Awordinyourear 33/1, 30,000 euros Poet's Word gelding; half-brother to multiple winners, including I'm To Blame, useful at from 2m-2m6f; likely up against it on debut. Newcomer by Poet's Word, half-brother to three winners, no lack of stamina in the pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (10) (50/1 +24%)Scathach |
50/1(+24%) | (10) Scathach 50/1, Again ran to a modest level when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Should improve once switched to handicapping. Has faced some useful rivals in two outings, will probably need to get a handicap mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (22/1 +12%)It's Bobsled Time |
22/1(+12%) | (12) It's Bobsled Time 22/1, Was beaten when falling late in a 4yo hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Stays 2m1f well, but needs more to win this. Shock winner of an academy hurdle, would be a surprise winner against his elders here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (125/1 -25%)Nebraska Brave |
125/1(-25%) | (13) Nebraska Brave 125/1, 10,500 euros Order Of St George gelding; half-brother to Captain Hugo, very useful at around 2m; tough task on debut. By Order Of St George, closely related to bumper/hurdle winner Captain Hugo, tough task. |

JALON D'OUDAIRIES was a smart bumper performer winning twice before placing in the Grade 1 Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival in 2024. The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding has filled the runner-up spot twice when switched to hurdles after a lengthy absence and could go one better here. Poetisa was bought for 300,000 pounds after winning a Cheltenham bumper last spring, but didn't impress with her jumping when reappearing at Punchestown last month and may be better suited by this left-handed track. Healys Pub caught the eye on hurdles debut here last month and is also noted.

Former high-class bumper horse JALON D'OUDAIRIES could be vulnerable on the ground but is preferred to the less experienced Poetisa

1st (8) (12/1 +0%)Hesgonethatway |
12/1(+0%) | (8) Hesgonethatway 12/1, Ran to form on handicap debut when well beaten in a handicap hurdle here last time. Usually held up, is effective at 2m, and could do better yet after a short break. Needs to step up considerably from his handicap debut over C&D, still early days for him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (2/1 -23%)Moudan |
2/1(-23%) | (4) Moudan 2/1, Improved when suited by a positive ride, showing a willing attitude to win a novice chase at Limerick last time. Enjoys making it, is effective over 2m–2m3f with cut, and his mark looks fair. Given a chase mark of 122 after Limerick novice win, obvious chance off 8lb lower. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (14/1 +0%)Fairyland Opera |
14/1(+0%) | (6) Fairyland Opera 14/1, Again below her hurdles form when well beaten in a beginners chase at Down Royal last time. Effective over 2m–2m5f with cut and returns to hurdles after modest efforts over fences. Beaten only a neck in this race last season, a return to that form would see her involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/1 -186%)Half A Chance |
10/1(-186%) | (5) Half A Chance 10/1, Ran to form when beaten 9l into third in a handicap hurdle at Thurles last time. Effective over 2m–2m3f and best on a sound surface, but needs more for the win and the ground is a concern. Placed in five of his six starts since last September, fair chance of reaching the money. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (28/1 +15%)Stiltellinemnuttin |
28/1(+15%) | (9) Stiltellinemnuttin 28/1, Yard won this race last year, but she did not find much when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Down Royal last time. Effective at 2m with cut, though inconsistent and her mark looks stiff. Showed some promise in maidens, that has not been borne out in two handicap attempts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (20/1 +20%)Chosen Diamond |
20/1(+20%) | (10) Chosen Diamond 20/1, Again below form when back hurdling and finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Limerick last time. Effective over 2m4f–3m and suited by cut, but needs to show more. No sign he can recapture the useful standard of form he showed around this time last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (20/1 +0%)Halsafari |
20/1(+0%) | (11) Halsafari 20/1, Mistakes, race may have come too soon seventh beaten 80l off 93 last time, 3lb lower here; effective 2m, acts with cut; remains well treated on old form and is back hurdling now. Ended a long losing sequence in November, four moderate runs since then, 4lb wrong here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (14/1 -56%)Cloonainra |
14/1(-56%) | (1) Cloonainra 14/1, Mistakes, up in trip, didn't stay down the field in a handicap chase at Ayr most recent; effective around 2m4f on a sound surface; better than showed last twice. Listowel novice chase winner, back hurdling now after two poor chase runs in Britain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (40/1 -60%)Eternal Echo |
40/1(-60%) | (3) Eternal Echo 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Navan last time after a short break. A bumper and hurdles winner who is effective at 2m on soft ground, but his current mark demands improvement. Course bumper winner/maiden hurdle scorer for Gordon Elliott, pulled up on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (7/4 +75%)Boher Road |
7/4(+75%) | (2) Boher Road 7/4, Pulled hard to the front, needed the run and made too much use of up in trip when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown latest. Enjoys making it, is effective at 2m, and should come on for that run. Better known as a four-time winner on Flat, should be better for his return in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (12/1 +25%)Ernie From Nurney |
12/1(+25%) | (7) Ernie From Nurney 12/1, Made too much use of when fourth, beaten 26l, in a handicap chase at Punchestown last time. Effective at 2m and suited by plenty of cut, but may need a drop back in trip. Only glimpses of his best form since back-to-back wins in April 2024 on soft-to-heavy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (33/1 0%)Marie's March |
33/1(0%) | (12) Marie's March 33/1, Did not get home in a strongly run race when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Gowran Park last time. Effective at 2m with cut, but remains inconsistent. Third at this venue last March, has failed to reproduce that form, 6lb out of the handicap. |

MOUDAN is a progressive sort and looks on a nice mark here back over timber. The Mount Nelson gelding is now rated 122 over fences after a game effort to take a rated novice contest over fences at Limerick, over Christmas. He is 8lb lower over hurdles and this looks like a nice opportunity to make use of that difference. Half A Chance ran a solid race when third to cosy winner Kotkito Bello at Thurles back in December. Off just a pound higher now he has to be respected. Fairyland Opera has been well held over fences recently but could be given a chance on her old hurdles form off this mark.

Progressive last winter, MOUDAN (nap) can make it a hat-trick in this discipline with his current form established by a chase win

1st (5) (5/1 +44%)Coole Cafe |
5/1(+44%) | (5) Coole Cafe 5/1, Below hurdles debut level when well beaten in a 4yo bumper here last time. Hood on for the first time; effective around 2m with cut, but a bounce back is needed after that run. Academy hurdle winner ran poorly over C&D last month; now tried hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (15/8 +17%)Apache Peak |
15/8(+17%) | (1) Apache Peak 15/8, Ran to hurdles debut level on bumper debut when second, beaten 9l, in a 4yo bumper here last time. Effective around 2m with cut and there is probably a bit more to come. Last month's C&D second on similar ground should be in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/4 +17%)Todo Bien |
5/4(+17%) | (4) Todo Bien 5/4, Yard won this last year; 175,000 euros Walk In The Park gelding; half-brother to four winners, including Milan Tino, useful at around 2m; respected on debut for top trainer. Elliott newcomer deserves the height of respect in a race it has a good recent record in. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/1 -110%)One To Witness |
7/1(-110%) | (2) One To Witness 7/1, Yard won this last year; 26,000 euros Sholokhov gelding; half-brother to Idas Boy, a useful stayer; top trainer also runs Todo Bien, interesting to see how this one goes in the betting. Half-brother to Idas Boy; one of two newcomers for the Elliott yard; market best guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (33/1 +0%)Shaheeq |
33/1(+0%) | (3) Shaheeq 33/1, £8,000 Siyouni gelding; half-brother to useful Flat winner Tafreej; dam useful at 12f; tongue-tied on debut and not as obvious claims as others. Well-bred Shadwell cast-off makes belated debut in a tongue-tie; market likely best guide. |

TODO BIEN was an expensive purchase as a store last year, costing 175,000 euro at the 'Derby Sale', and may be able to make a winning start now for Gordon Elliott. The Walk In The Park gelding is a half-brother to a couple of smart sorts in Shoda and Milan Tino. Apache Peak looks the pick of those with form. He has been second on both starts, most recently chasing home the impressive Quiryn here last month. Coole Cafe finished back in seventh that day, which was slightly disappointing as she had won an academy hurdle previously.

Recent C&D second Apache Peak deserves respect but newcomer TODO BIEN is preferred given the yard's good recent record in this race

1st (2) (1/8 +50%)Dinoblue |
1/8(+50%) | (2) Dinoblue 1/8, Won this race last year and jumped well, travelling strongly when winning the Yellowford & Drumlin John & Chich Fowler Memorial Irish EBF Mares Chase at Fairyhouse by 7l last time. Effective at 2m-2m6f and consistent, she should win this. Last year's winner remains a class apart at this level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/1 -6%)Bioluminescence |
9/1(-6%) | (1) Bioluminescence 9/1, Travelled but did not find much and may not have stayed when well beaten in the Becher Handicap Chase at Aintree last time. Off a short break, effective at 2m4f-3m, suited by plenty of cut, but has been inconsistent of late. Below best both starts this term and lots to find with same owner's Dinoblue on ratings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (10/1 +29%)Uhavemeinstitches |
10/1(+29%) | (6) Uhavemeinstitches 10/1, Ran to form when 7l third in the Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase (Grade 2) at Limerick most recently. Effective over 2m-2m7f and progressive over fences, she arrives in good heart. Form is over further so will need a good pace at this minimum trip; place claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (125/1 +17%)Je T'ai Porte |
125/1(+17%) | (3) Je T'ai Porte 125/1, May have found the ground on the soft side when finishing down the field in a handicap chase here most recently. Tongue-tie is applied for the first time; enjoys making it, is effective at 2m-2m3f, but faces a stiff task. Out of form of late; tongue-tie added but hard to see her featuring. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

DINOBLUE looks set to be a short price to repeat last year's success in this Listed contest. Willie Mullins' charge, winner of the Mares Chase at Cheltenham last term, is the one to beat in this division and it would be a surprise if she was turned over. She did have to survive a last fence scare when scoring at Fairyhouse last time but should collect again with a clear round. Bioluminescence is the danger on official ratings but she needs to improve on her last showing in handicap company at Aintree. Break My Soul was outclassed in Grade 1 company at Leopardstown over Christmas but should be able to get closer now.

Impossible to oppose last year's winner DINOBLUE. The Great Nudie and Uhavemeinstitches look the ones for the forecast

1st (4) (85/40 -70%)Panda Boy |
85/40(-70%) | (4) Panda Boy 85/40, Ran to form, suited by the decent ground when winning a hunter chase at Thurles by 9l last time; effective 3m, suited by decent ground; could be useful recruit to hunter chases but deep ground not ideal. Good standard in staying handicaps, made a big impression in first race in this division. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (15/8 +0%)Hunters Yarn |
15/8(+0%) | (2) Hunters Yarn 15/8, Scored with plenty in hand when winning an open point for novice riders at Dungarvan by 3l last time. Formerly a smart 2m novice hurdler and chaser, now effective at 3m in points, and interesting on hunter chase debut. Good overall points form, made mistakes when Ryehill finished in front of him at Dromahane. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/2 -5%)Ryehill |
7/2(-5%) | (5) Ryehill 7/2, Fair return but below rules level when second beaten 5l in an open point at Dromahane latest; effective around 3m with cut; respected having won this last year. Respected as last year's winner of this race, 1/2l in front of Hunters Yarn at Dromahane. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (9/1 -20%)Last Round |
9/1(-20%) | (3) Last Round 9/1, Improved again when just tiring late up in trip and class, beaten 17l into third in a hunter chase at Thurles on his most recent run. Effective at 2m6f-3m and progressing, but this looks a bit tough. Won maiden hunter chase at Limerick, appears well held by Panda Boy on Thurles running. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (40/1 +20%)Galon De Vauzelle |
40/1(+20%) | (1) Galon De Vauzelle 40/1, Pulled up in the hunters' chase at Down Royal last time. Effective up to 3m with cut in the ground, but needs a bounce back from that effort and is probably not good enough on what has been shown. Has made an effective return to points, struggled in a strong hunter chase at Down Royal. |

HUNTERS YARN may be worth siding with here. The Fame And Glory gelding was a smart sort for Willie Mullins and has won three from four for Pat Doyle since going point-to-pointing this season. His only blip was at Dromahane in late December when third to Wrappedupinmay, a horse that he had previously beaten with ease. He is fancied to turn the tables now with Ryehill, who was just in front of him at Dromahane. Panda Boy looks like the obvious one to beat after an impressive performance in his first hunters chase at Thurles last month. He beat another Doyle-trained horse in Lifetime Ambition that day.

A horse who looked capable of winning a major handicap chase when in his prime, PANDA BOY can continue to prosper in this category

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK.
