11/4(0%) | (3) I'm All In 11/4, Unseated in a juvenile hurdle at Cork last time; trainer in form. Effective over 2m and acts on soft ground; should improve slightly for the experience. Booked for second when exiting at the last at Cork, the winner sold for big money since. |

RITZ PLAN was unlucky to come up against a smart sort when runner-up to Highland Crystal in a similar event at Punchestown last month, with Kilbarry Lizzy 13 lengths behind in third and Copper Rocker further adrift. The winner has since taken a Listed race at Newbury in good style. I'm All In was prominent throughout and still in second spot when unseating his rider at the last in another Academy Hurdle at Cork, while Baby Pearl and Coole Cafe both represent powerful yards and should be noted for any market moves.

Although I'M ALL IN was fighting a losing battle when unseating at the last at Cork, time may prove that he was taking on a smart sort

100/1(+33%) | (17) Richwood 100/1, Far too free and did too much too soon when well beaten in an auction bumper at Thurles on debut; faces a stiff task. Decent pedigree, raced keenly in a bumper at Thurles on debut, not an obvious contender. |

SAINT BACO showed promise in France last year and the form of his third in a hurdle at Auteuil has worked out well since. The Cokoriko gelding is a half-brother to Saint Roi, who proved a smart sort both over hurdles and fences for Willie Mullins. Lazare De Star finished well when runner-up on his only point-to-point start and was subsequently purchased for 190,000 euros, while Sense Of Occasion also ran with credit between the flags. Le Moulin Rouge ran quite freely but finished well when third to stablemate Sageborough at Wexford and is now fitted with a hood, while War Rooms held a career high rating of 104 on the Flat and is an interesting recruit to hurdles.

There is every chance that SAINT BACO, not beaten far at Auteuil 15 months ago will be good enough to make a winning Irish debut.

80/1(-142%) | (12) Good Option 80/1, Promising effort when runner-up, beaten 8l in a maiden over 3m at Fairyhouse on debut; faces a tough assignment now. Second in a maiden point at Fairyhouse, pedigree implies he might need a test of stamina. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (16) (150/1 +25%)Patsy's Pride |
150/1(+25%) | (16) Patsy's Pride 150/1, Modest debut when comfortably held in a bumper at Fairyhouse last time; plenty to find. Well-related point winner, tailed off in a bumper at Fairyhouse, can be ruled out. |

80/1(-264%) | (4) Centreofattention 80/1, Showed improvement from debut despite greenness and mistakes when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Galway last time; hood applied for the first time; capable of better over hurdles for top connections, though handicaps may suit later. Bumper winner in Britain, fair run over hurdles before a decent effort in a rated chase. |

200/1(0%) | (22) Can't Catch Molly 200/1, Modest debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle here; handles heavy ground but may need more time and a longer trip. Not disgraced in midfield on debut, should benefit from gaining more experience now. |

125/1(+38%) | (20) Whatafoolbelieves 125/1, Poor debut up in trip when down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f here; needs significant improvement. Likely to need a handicap mark on the evidence of bumper form and a first hurdles start. |

24th (9) (125/1 +38%)Diamond Island |
125/1(+38%) | (9) Diamond Island 125/1, Outpaced and in need of a stiffer test when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Gowran Park; effective around 2 1/2m but likely to find 2m too sharp again. Well-exposed in points, weak form on the track, safe to ignore. |

80/1(-60%) | (21) Bet On Beauty 80/1, Promising debut when narrow 1/2l winner in a maiden over 3m at Comea; returning from a long layoff and market may prove best guide on hurdle debut. Won a seven-runner mares' maiden in February on yielding, half-sister to several winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
26th (18) (80/1 +68%)Sneddy Eddie |
80/1(+68%) | (18) Sneddy Eddie 80/1, Poor run when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse last time; effective at 1m, acts on soft ground, stamina a question for hurdles. Three-time Flat winner at a modest level (rated 53), has struggled in two hurdle starts. |

COLCANNON won two bumpers including a Grade 2 event at Leopardstown and was third behind Bambino Fever in the Grade 1 at the Punchestown Festival, with Copacabana over two lengths behind in fourth. The Noel Meade-trained gelding had a number of these rivals well behind when runner-up to Koktail Brut on hurdle debut at Punchestown last month and that form was well advertised at Fairyhouse last weekend. Riding arrangements suggest Road Exile is preferred of Gordon Elliott's pair, and he was a creditable third behind Blake when switched to hurdles at Down Royal. Burrows Drive was a smart sort in bumpers, while useful Flat handicapper Genuine Article is another interesting recruit to hurdles.

No match for the subsequent Royal Bond winner Koktail Brut at Punchestown COLCANNON (nap) is tipped to go one better now

7/2(+13%) | (4) Kovanis 7/2, Improved up in trip for a cosy win when taking a maiden hurdle at Clonmel by 5l last time. Trainer in form. Effective over 2-2 1/2m, acts on soft and good ground. Form of that win had knocks but the point winner is progressing. A smooth front-running maiden hurdle winner at Clonmel, Jack Kennedy sticks with him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (1/1 +71%)Port Authority |
1/1(+71%) | (5) Port Authority 1/1, Went clear easily for a very promising debut when winning a maiden hurdle at Naas over 2m by 17l last time. Trainer in form. Effective at 2m and acts with cut. More to come for top yard; not a forlorn stable second string. Won his only point start, toyed with his rivals on hurdling debut, Jack Kennedy on Kovanis. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

KOVANIS is one of three runners from the Gordon Elliott yard to record an impressive maiden hurdle win last time and it looks significant that Jack Kennedy sides with the son of Tunis. The point-to-point winner landed a bumper at Leopardstown last Christmas and made all for a cosy win over an extended 2m3f at Clonmel last month. C&D winner Classical Creek and Port Authority, who scored by a wide margin at Naas, complete a powerful challenge by the Cullentra team. Thedeviluno beat Elliott's Starlight Hustle (won since) at Gowran, while Galway victor Doctor Steinberg and easy Gowran winner Daydream Nation add further spice to a fascinating Grade 2.

Gordon Elliott, who dominated last Sunday's Fairyhouse fixture, has a strong hand. Jack Kennedy's presence on KOVANIS looks significant

Recent 2m5f winner here 10lb wrong in this better race but don't rule out improving 6yo. |

|PU| (4) (11/1 -144%)Yeats Star |
11/1(-144%) | (4) Yeats Star 11/1, Bit below form up in grade when comfortably held in the Munster National Handicap Chase (Grade 3) over 3m at Limerick last time; had been in good form previously; trainer going well; prefers some ease in the ground. Chasing campaign stalled; back hurdling with ground to suit, slight stamina concerns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

25/1(-25%) | (5) Timmy Tuesday 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Punchestown latest; cheekpieces on for the first time; trainer in form; effective 2½-3m performer who needs a sound surface; more to come over fences but bit to prove in this discipline. Pulled up in Pertemps qualifier at Punchestown last month; cheekpieces tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (25/1 +38%)Eagles Reign |
25/1(+38%) | (7) Eagles Reign 25/1, Outclassed up in grade when down the field in the Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle (Listed) over 2m4f at Naas most recently; best at 2m, suited by softer ground; inconsistent and stamina concerns. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (33/1 -200%)Buddy One |
33/1(-200%) | (1) Buddy One 33/1, Made mistakes and did not find much, comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Galway last time. Lost form over fences last year but brings in some Grade 1 form in this discipline; outside chance if ground not too testing; Back hurdling here and respected but possibly vulnerable conceding so much weight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (40/1 -100%)Ottizzini |
40/1(-100%) | (9) Ottizzini 40/1, Made mistakes and ran below form when fourth, beaten 33l in a beginners' chase over 2m5f at Cork last time. Mark looks too high back in this sphere. Two chase efforts last month didn't measure up; back hurdling with trip to suit. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

BUACHAILLBOCHT was progressive over hurdles winning three times including twice over an extended 2m6f at Punchestown before switching to fences last season and justifying heavy support on his final start at the Fairyhouse Easter meeting. The selection handles soft ground well and will relish this stamina test. Paddy's Milestone won over 3m at Down Royal last year and was absent until beating Grimaud by two lengths over 2m5f here last month with Gringo D'aubrelle back in fifth. However, he's now 10lb out of the handicap proper and stablemate Ayiko may prove more of a threat on his third to Custom Taylor in a valuable 2m7f Fairyhouse handicap last spring. Yeats Star is another to consider.

On the back of a good chase run at Cheltenham FASCILE MODE gets the vote, ahead of Ayiko and Grimaud

5/1(+64%) | (8) Search For Glory 5/1, From the yard that won this race the last three years; needed the run when down the field in the Troytown Handicap Chase (Grade 3) over 3m here last time. Effective at 3m, fairly treated on novice form but still has something to prove. Ran well to a point in Troytown; drop back in trip may suit and not one to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/1 -64%)Harry Des Ongrais |
9/1(-64%) | (3) Harry Des Ongrais 9/1, Pulled up in the Irish Grand National over 3m5f at Fairyhouse last time; best around 2 1/2m and acts on soft ground. Looks high enough in the weights. Absent since pulled up (mistakes) in Irish National in April; bit to prove off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (14/1 +13%)Grandero Bello |
14/1(+13%) | (6) Grandero Bello 14/1, Needed the run and was outclassed when comfortably held in the Lismullen Hurdle (Grade 2) over 2m4f here last time. Trainer in form, easier ground a plus and not without a chance. All the better for recent comeback run so don't rule out back chasing on favoured ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (10/3 -78%)Inthepocket |
10/3(-78%) | (1) Inthepocket 10/3, Fell in the Barberstown Castle Chase (Grade 3) over 2m at Naas last time; effective at 2m. A Grade 1 winner over hurdles, a very useful chaser though has had issues, and looks fairly treated off this mark. Faller on last month's return in Grade 3; first try over this trip on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (9) (25/1 +24%)The Gradual Slope |
25/1(+24%) | (9) The Gradual Slope 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m1f at Roscommon last time; effective over 3m and further but currently out of form and this looks inadequate test. Inadequate trip here and 13lb out of handicap. |

|PU| (4) (4/1 -60%)Tullyhill |
4/1(-60%) | (4) Tullyhill 4/1, Returned to form when second, beaten 8l, in a beginners' chase over 2m at Wexford last time. Effective at 2m, handles heavy and good going. In moderate form overall, mark looks stiff. Still a maiden over fences; jumping remains a concern and goes up in trip here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (8/1 -45%)Backtonormal |
8/1(-45%) | (5) Backtonormal 8/1, Needed the run and was probably using it as a prep for chasing when down the field in the Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle (Listed) over 2m4f at Naas last time; progressive over fences previously and unexposed in this sphere; one to consider. Leopardstown Chase winner sure to come on from recent hurdles return; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (28/1 -12%)Hartur D'arc |
28/1(-12%) | (7) Hartur D'arc 28/1, Below form when down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Punchestown last time. Had been in good form before; better over fences and likely to appreciate further than this for new yard. Former Leinster National winner; debuts for new yard here after 7 months' absence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

INTHEPOCKET was a Grade 1 winner over hurdles but has suffered an interrupted campaign since sent chasing. He reappeared after a lengthy break to easily win at Wexford last autumn but needs to bounce back after a fall on his reappearance at Naas last month. Tullyhill was held in high regard as a novice over hurdles and had Harry Des Ongrais behind when runner-up to Mistergif over fences at Fairyhouse earlier this year. The Willie Mullins-trained grey tends to jump left and should benefit from his reappearance at Wexford. Backtonormal took the valuable Leopardstown Handicap Chase in fine style last season but disappointed over hurdles at Naas last month.

It may pay to take a chance on SEARCH FOR GLORY, who ran better than the result suggests in the Troytown and drops in trip here

1st (10) (11/2 +15%)Predators Gold |
11/2(+15%) | (10) Predators Gold 11/2, From a yard that has won the last two renewals of this race. Ran to form when third, beaten 13l, in the Grade 1 Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown on his latest start. Absent a long time but in the mix if fit for chase debut. 145-rated hurdler season before last; market best guide on chase debut after long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (5/2 +17%)Slade Steel |
5/2(+17%) | (11) Slade Steel 5/2, Again below hurdle form when conceding first run to the all-the-way winner, finishing second, beaten 1¼l, in a 2m4f beginners' chase at Naas last time. A classy novice hurdler, not as fluent over fences but competitive down in grade if ready. Both chase runs this time last year read well; can put that experience to good use here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (14) (5/4 +44%)Wingmen |
5/4(+44%) | (14) Wingmen 5/4, Finished second, beaten 13l, in a beginners' chase here last time. Enjoys making the running and is effective around 2½m, acting on any ground. A very useful chaser who should come on for that promising debut behind a classy rival. Last month's C&D second to Final Demand makes him a major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (18/1 +0%)Karl Des Tourelles |
18/1(+0%) | (5) Karl Des Tourelles 18/1, Made mistakes and needed the run on chase debut when comfortably held in a beginners' chase here last time. A consistent hurdler from a yard in form, effective over 2½–3m and should build on that initial effort. Probably needed the run on last month's C&D chase debut in a hot race; more expected of. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (25/1 -14%)Ballybow |
25/1(-14%) | (1) Ballybow 25/1, Outpaced and needed the run on chase debut when unsuited by a drop in trip, well beaten in a beginners' chase over 2m1f here last time. A useful hurdler who should appreciate this longer distance over fences. Novicey jumping on chasing debut last month when well held here; longer trip to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (28/1 -56%)Uncle Pat |
28/1(-56%) | (12) Uncle Pat 28/1, From a yard that has taken the last two renewals of this race. Ran to form when fourth, beaten 8l, in a 2m6f beginners' chase at Listowel last time. Effective over 2¾–3m but may find this trip on the sharp side. Okay form in three beginners chases earlier in the season but this a much hotter contest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (13) (50/1 -100%)Win Some Lose Some |
50/1(-100%) | (13) Win Some Lose Some 50/1, May have found the ground too testing when well beaten in a beginners' chase here last time. Effective over 2½–3m and prefers decent ground; could improve when stepped up to 3m but conditions may be a concern. Poor effort (jumped left) over C&D last month; others hold stronger claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (33/1 -18%)My Trump Card |
33/1(-18%) | (7) My Trump Card 33/1, Made mistakes and was never put into the race, needing the run when well beaten in a beginners' chase here last time. Effective over 2½–3m and should improve for that return, with the longer trip likely to suit in time. Jumping has let him down so far chasing, hard to be confident in. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (150/1 +0%)Born Braver |
150/1(+0%) | (2) Born Braver 150/1, Outclassed and finished down the field in a beginners' chase over 2m6f at Fairyhouse last time. Effective over 2½–3m and looks one for handicaps over fences. Moderate runs in beginners chases last month; may need more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (5/1 -25%)Kopeck De Mee |
5/1(-25%) | (6) Kopeck De Mee 5/1, From a yard that has won the last two runnings of this race. Well treated on French form and travelled well when second, beaten a neck, in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Aintree last time. Highly regarded by top connections; a clear threat with promise of more to come over fences. 143-rated hurdler could well make his mark over fences this season; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|R| (4) (66/1 +34%)Great Universe |
66/1(+34%) | (4) Great Universe 66/1, Fell late when beaten in a beginners' chase over 2m7f at Galway last time. Usually held up and effective over 2½–3m, probably one for handicaps over fences. After long absence 9yo never counted before falling at last on Galway chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|R| (15) (300/1 -50%)Angels Halo |
300/1(-50%) | (15) Angels Halo 300/1, Looked in need of a stiffer test when down the field in a 2m maiden hurdle at Thurles last time. Faces a difficult task here on chase debut. Low-grade hurdler impossible to fancy on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (16) (150/1 +0%)Butter Fingers |
150/1(+0%) | (16) Butter Fingers 150/1, Never threatened when comfortably held in a 2m4f beginners' chase at Gowran Park last time. Effective around 2m and handles cut in the ground; likely to need more time over fences. 4yo faces much hotter opposition than of late so hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (150/1 -127%)Dont Tell Jack |
150/1(-127%) | (3) Dont Tell Jack 150/1, Outpaced and never threatened when down the field in a beginners' chase over 2m3f at Punchestown last time. Effective around 2½m and may be suited to staying handicaps over fences. Never sighted on yard debut in beginners chase last month; will probably want more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (125/1 -25%)Park Of Kings |
125/1(-25%) | (9) Park Of Kings 125/1, Needed the run on chase debut and was never involved when down the field in a 2m beginners' chase at Naas last time. Usually held up and effective over 2½–3m; the longer trip should suit but looks one for handicaps over further. 133-rated hurdler never sighted on last month's chase debut at Naas; may need more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (8) (200/1 -33%)Mywayofthinkin |
200/1(-33%) | (8) Mywayofthinkin 200/1, Outpaced and never put into the race over an inadequate trip when down the field in a beginners' chase over 2m3f at Punchestown last time. Effective around 2–2½m but may need more time and further over fences. Two recent beginners chase efforts suggest he's one to need handicaps. |

WINGMEN was highly tried over hurdles last season including when second to Final Demand in a 2m6f Leopardstown Grade 1 and put in a generally sound round of jumping when switched to fences on his reappearance here last month. The selection was again no match for Final Demand but had a number of these rivals behind and may go on better. The 2024 Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Slade Steel filled the runner-up spot on both chase starts last season including behind Lecky Watson at Naas, while another smart novice hurdler, Predators Gold, bids to overcome a lengthy absence on his chase debut. Kopeck De Mee won three times over hurdles in France and was just denied in an Aintree handicap this spring.

Beaten odds-on favourite in both beginners chases this time last season, the form reads really well and SLADE STEEL can go one better

6th (5) (40/1 -122%)Native Deal |
40/1(-122%) | (5) Native Deal 40/1, Showed minor promise on debut when well beaten in a 4yo bumper over 2m1f at Down Royal on his only start. 7th (10) (100/1 -52%)Clash Gold |
100/1(-52%) | (10) Clash Gold 100/1, Green, modest bumper debut when well beaten in a mares' bumper over 2m2f at Punchestown on her only start. Returning from a long layoff and likely to need more time. Well held on debut in good-class Punchestown bumper a year ago; can only be watched. |

|S| (3) (4/1 +11%)Fixios |
4/1(+11%) | (3) Fixios 4/1, Very promising debut when third, beaten 8 1/2l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f here on debut; that looks strong form; big player on bumper debut. Promising debut third in maiden hurdle here last month; respected. |

FIXIOS shaped well on debut when staying on into third behind the odds-on Classical Creek in a 22-runner 2m4f maiden hurdle here last month. The Noel Meade-trained gelding should benefit from that experience and gets the vote over impressive point-to-point winner With Nolimit, who was bought for 250,000 pounds after scoring for Jonathan Fogarty at Liscarroll in March. Riding arrangements suggest he's preferred to another point winner Detroit Maverick, while Treasure Memory has been placed both in a bumper and over hurdles.

Given a favourable mention by Gordon Elliott in a recent Racing Post stable tour, WITH NOLIMIT may well be ready to strike on debut

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
