17:30 Newbury (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HEATED MOMENT gets the speculative vote, especially if the market speaks in her favour. The daughter of Too Darn Hot cost 200,000gns as a half-sister to a couple of winners and Ollie Sangster has been back among the winners in the past week or so. Evie Ross is closely related to the speedy Steel Bull, who won the Group 3 Molecomb as a two-year-old, while Lahan Kingman, Touleen and Regatta are others to keep an eye on.

The tentative suggestion is CORALLIENCE, given her trainer's success with 2yo newcomers this season, ahead of Touleen.

18:05 Newbury (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MISS CARTESIAN made every yard to secure a decisive win in novice company at Newmarket last time. That was her first start over 7f and, with the prospect of more to come now handicapping, Ralph Beckett's filly could prove better than her opening mark. Saariselka faced a much tougher assignment at Newmarket last month, but can make her presence felt back in this lower grade, while Lady Manzor will appreciate this return to 7f having won three times on the all-weather so far this year.

This can go to MISS CARTESIAN (nap) who is 2-3 and remains open to plenty more improvement now switched to a handicap.

18:40 Newbury (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Golden Redemption placed in a couple of handicaps over 7f last month and has a shout back at this level. Valentine Boy also drops in trip off the back of a respectable debut fourth over 7f at Salisbury, but preference is for STAR OF MALI. James Tate's charge has shown plenty of ability in a couple of outings over the minimum trip and he could prove a more potent force over this extra furlong.

The drop back in trip gives GOLDEN REDEMPTION a bit more to prove but he is still selected, ahead of Star Of Mali and Raveena.

19:15 Newbury (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Connie's Rose is consistent with a top three finish on her last four starts, but that leaves her in the grip of the handicapper and she may have to settle for more of the same. Bang On The Bell has won over this trip nine times and he can also go well, but MOE'S LEGACY gets the vote. The four-year-old has won her last three starts and may have more to offer.

Several of these are in fine fettle and FILLY'S LAST LADY gets a narrow vote over Miss Show Down and Moe's Legacy.

19:45 Newbury (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Deep Water Bay is the only C&D winner in this field after his success here last month, but he has 5lb more to carry now. Percy Shelley is yet to win over this far and might have to settle for another place, so a chance is taken on GOOD SHOW. Andrew Balding's gelding missed all of 2024 but ran well when sixth on his first start in almost two years at Goodwood in June, and he may make the most of the drop in class.

Further improvement from Deep Water Bay would be no surprise but GOOD SHOW is an interesting rival, not fully exposed at 2m himself.

20:15 Newbury (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Percy Jones dead-heated for first at Chester before being placed second by the stewards, but he has an added 2lb now and may find some have too much for him. Saratoga Gold has a couple of course wins to his name and if a first-time visor brings him back to form, he could have a huge say, but LIGHTNING TOUCH looks the one. A lightly raced four-year-old, she ran on well into second here in July over 1m2f and looks all set to make the most of this extra two furlongs.

Roger Varian's lightly raced 4yo LIGHTNING TOUCH is unexposed and selected to get off the mark over this new trip.
