A full field of unraced fillies here makes the formbook obsolete and it may pay to side with George Boughey's ORANGE SKY, a 330,000gns daughter of No Nay Never representing a stable with a 20 per cent strike-rate with their two-year-olds on turf this year. Suhub looks bred for the trip as a daughter of Mohaather out of a dual Group 1 winner and she is worthy of a market watch. Split Silk and Gigi Bliss are others to consider in a race that may throw up plenty of future winners.

Plenty of the top yards represented in this newcomers' maiden and the betting will be revealing, with the fantastically bred SUHUB, Gigi Bliss (who holds some big-race entries) and Rikissa three in particular to warrant serious respect before market clues.

The most striking differentiating factor among these newcomers seems to be the Group 2 and Group 1 entries held by GIGI BLISS.

Mercury Day looks set for another big effort with Jim Crowley booked to ride by Conrad Allen after she came home a weakening third over further in a better race at Lingfield. She may prove the biggest danger to SO LOGICAL, who was successful in a 0-90 handicap at Newmarket in May off just 1lb lower. Although beaten three times since, she tries blinkers, which may help her back to winning ways. Queen's Reign, third to Mercury Day at Newmarket, is another to consider now dropping back in trip.

Preference is for ROSA APPLAUSE, who remains unexposed on turf and she shaped as though this stiffer test would be right up her street when third at Haydock last month. Circe, on the other hand, is dropping back in trip and will be a big threat granted a strong pace to aim at. So Logical looks the pick of the Gosden-trained duo and she is also accorded respect.

Although QUEEN'S REIGN was behind Mercury Day at Newmarket in June her Goodwood win prior to that looks solid.

Siegen was rated 86 after winning at Sandown but has struggled since, although dropped to 80 now, he has every chance of a much better run. Alashos is the only distance winner in the field, but has been held on both starts since that Lingfield triumph and it may pay to side with JR CLIMBS. A winner at Bath in July and a solid fourth in a class two at Ripon on his first start after being gelded, he is entitled to find this level much more to his liking.

On the back of a solid effort in a valuable auction race at Newmarket, MISS COLLADA could prove a tough nut to crack now eased in grade off a workable mark. Equalised can be expected to step up on what he's shown in three qualifying runs now venturing down the nursery route and he is feared most ahead of Candy and Alashos.

The form of CANDY's C&D second last month looks solid so he's taken to go one better.

BOY GEORGE has proved a different proposition since returning from a long layoff, as displayed with victories at Bath and Windsor in recent months. Although the seven-year-old must defy a career-high mark to land a hat-trick, he looks more than capable of doing so in his current mood. The Glen Rovers opened his account over 1m2f on his handicap bow at Newcastle and is likely to be involved if seeing out the distance. C&D winner Dark Mystery is also noted.

THE GLEN ROVERS remains with few miles on the clock and with this step up in trip looking a plus, he is fancied to follow up his Newcastle success last time out. Boy George rates the obvious threat in his bid for a hat-trick ahead of Darky Mystery and Buxted Too.

Boy George goes for a hat-trick but THE GLEN ROVERS (nap) may well be a marked improver among his rivals.

With the third having subsequently opened his account at Lingfield recently, BOXTEL's latest second at Newmarket is working out well. A similar performance may prove sufficient for Jane Chapple-Hyam's colt and he rates as the one to beat. Bolo Neighs has also filled the runner-up berth on both starts to date and he may serve the most resistance to the selection, although market support for 260,000gns debutant Fondo Blanco must be explored.

It may well be a case of third time lucky for BOXTEL, who has shown plenty of ability in novice events over this C&D and at Newmarket, finding just one too good on each occasion. Bolo Neighs chased home the smart Aesterius on the second of his two starts during the spring and he will be a threat if ready to roll following a break, now upped to 6f. Power Fizz could be the pick of the newcomers, though Fondo Blanco and Persian Spirit are also pretty appealing on paper.

Bolo Neighs and BOXTEL have shown more than enough to think they can win a race likely this, with preference for the latter.

STATE FLAG is progressing nicely and rates a solid option on the back of a C&D win against similar types in July. Nudged up just 1lb for that narrow success, the daughter of U S Navy Flag has enough scope to follow up here. Tayala is better than she managed at Newmarket and is another must for consideration, while eight-race maiden Wonder Smile is also noted having shown some improvement at Nottingham.

Plenty are in with a shout but WHERE'S FREDDY showed the benefit of cheekpieces when a ready Newmarket scorer last time so is taken to defy a 7 lb weights rise with the headgear again sported. State Flag could emerge as the main danger on the back of her C&D victory with in-form pair Wonder Smile and Clipsham La Habana also in the mix. Freetodream completes the shortlist.

A final chance is given to WONDER SMILE, whose 7f 3yo handicap form at the start of the summer reads well in the context of this race.

Hat-trick seeker Bright has solid credentials and may well cope with a 3lb rise for his latest success gained in the Racing League at Newcastle a fortnight ago. However, REGAL ENVOY almost caused a shock when a close second in a similar event at Windsor the previous week and can one better off just 1lb higher. Supreme King is versatile regarding the ground and is dangerous to underestimate on these terms, while Capote's Dream warrants scrutiny back at this trip off 7lb below his last winning mark.

Lots with chances but BRIGHT rates just the pick of these weights raised 3 lb for his recent Newcastle victory so edges the vote. Supreme King comes here at the top of his game and heads the list of dangers, although a solid case can also be made for Capote's Dream, Lahab and Arnaz in this very competitive handicap.

This can go to BRIGHT who has been in cracking form of late and hasn't been too harshly treated for his two wins.
Ths is the racecard key.
