1st (1) (13/8 +46%)Josh The Boss |
13/8(+46%) | (1) Josh The Boss 13/8, Conceded first run and ran to form on chase debut when second, beaten 1 1/2l, in a beginners' chase over 2m4f at Warwick last time. Likes to make the running, effective over 2 1/2m, and acts on good or good to soft ground. Inconsistent over hurdles but showed promise on first chase start. Useful hurdler at best but was held in a match on chase debut at Warwick on Tuesday. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

SIXMILEBRIDGE was a classy hurdler, winning three times before finishing ninth in the Turners at the Cheltenham Festival in March behind The New Lion. Although likely to be better over further than this in time, a clear round should see him make a winning start to his chasing career. Josh The Boss was also useful over hurdles and will be dangerous if turned out quickly after his defeat in a Warwick match on Tuesday.

Grade 2 hurdle winner SIXMILEBRIDGE is an exciting recruit to fences and this is a good opportuity on his chase debut.

1st (2) (15/2 -15%)Bowmore |
15/2(-15%) | (2) Bowmore 15/2, Improved back over hurdles when benefitting from a very easy lead, beaten 2l off 122 over 2m1f at Market Rasen last time; effective at 2m on good ground; in form though this looks tougher than latest. More competitive again when second over hurdles (2m) last month; needs to build on that. |

2nd (7) (9/2 +31%)Believitanducan |
9/2(+31%) | (7) Believitanducan 9/2, Well backed and came clear with the winner when beaten 1/2l off 71 at Kempton last time; in good form over hurdles and likely improved Flat form here; probably more to come. 2-3 over hurdles; tailed off in Grade 2 in the other; should have plenty more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (10/3 +26%)Andashan |
10/3(+26%) | (1) Andashan 10/3, Below form and outclassed up in grade when made too much use of and was comfortably held in the Dovecote Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2) at Kempton last time; returns from a long layoff with bit to prove. Free-going sort; heavy defeat in a Grade 2 novice in February but he retains potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (8/1 +0%)Meatloaf |
8/1(+0%) | (5) Meatloaf 8/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Aintree on latest start; absent for a very lengthy period but enjoys making the running. Had wind surgery in July 2024 and needs a market check on first run since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (25/1 -285%)Sunray Shadow |
25/1(-285%) | (8) Sunray Shadow 25/1, Made mistakes and finished below form when 12l third in a novice hurdle over 2m5f at Market Rasen most recently; returns from a long layoff and has a bit to find. 2-4 and it would be disappointing if he could not prove capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (28/1 -40%)Vocito |
28/1(-40%) | (9) Vocito 28/1, Poorly placed in a race dominated from the front when 19l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Market Rasen last time; enjoys making the running; effective at 2m and suited by a sound surface; in good form since changing yards. 6-49 overall and 4-24 over hurdles, so he's vastly more experienced and exposed than some. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (3/1 +40%)Inside Man |
3/1(+40%) | (3) Inside Man 3/1, Travelled well and won cosily when landing a handicap by 3l off 120 over 2m1f at Newton Abbot last time; up 3lb and improved again back from a break; trainer in form and progressive at 2m on decent ground. This is more competitive but he scored comfortably latest and looks the type to do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (40/1 -21%)Celtic Art |
40/1(-21%) | (11) Celtic Art 40/1, Needed the run and may have found the ground a bit quick when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time; effective at 2m and acts on soft and good to soft ground. Latest win was in February; needs to run a lot better than he has on last three outings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (9/1 -13%)Double Oban |
9/1(-13%) | (12) Double Oban 9/1, Well handicapped on his recent win when landing a handicap by 1/2l off 103 at Lingfield last time; returns from a long layoff and looks progressive. Won four of last five starts; has to be in calculations despite being off since February. |

|U| (6) (9/1 -20%)Maitre En Science |

Better when third of 13 off this mark under Megan Fox at Chepstow (2m, good) last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (25/1 -79%)Notnowlinda |
25/1(-79%) | (10) Notnowlinda 25/1, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/4l off 116 over 2m5f at Market Rasen last time; on fair mark but absent for a very lengthy period. In good form over 2m-2m4f in spring 2024 when last seen, mostly when amateur ridden. |

Bowmore might go well after returning with a second at Market Rasen over this distance last month, but he has been put up 2lb for that and is yet to win in handicap company. INSIDE MAN is improving all the time and won with plenty in hand at Newton Abbot a couple of months ago. An extra 4lb may not stop him doubling up with the chance of another step forward. Double Oban is upped in class for his seasonal debut after winning four of his last five starts and could also get involved.

It's a tricky choice but BELIEVITANDUCAN might be the one to latch on to, for one of the in-form stables.

Joyau Allen is held in some regard at Ditcheat by Paul Nicholls, but as a full-brother to Envoi Allen his future may be over further and a win after 622 days off the track seems a big ask. CAPTAIN HUGO caught the eye winning a bumper at the second attempt by nine lengths at Worcester in May and he could come out in top, with Sinnatra and Alba Crus others to keep an eye on.

Several strikingly promising types may be headed today by CAPTAIN HUGO, Caballero Cliff and Wilstar.

KHRISMA just failed to reel in the subsequent dual Listed winner Casheldale Lad when runner-up over hurdles at Punchestown in May and she gets the vote on the strength of that form. Jackie Hobbs is a dual bumper winner to note on her hurdling bow, while Pottersville is another to consider on debut for her new yard. Heron In The Park and Hornica are not easily ruled out either.

This field is packed with interest but top of the list has to be KHRISMA, particulary on the strength of her second at Punchestown.

Progressive over fences last season, Haiti Couleurs is not easily overlooked reverting to hurdles for his reappearance. However, it could pay to give another chance to EAST INDIA EXPRESS. The latter was travelling well when falling at Cheltenham on last month's seasonal debut, and Nicky Henderson's inmate has solid claims based on his six-length victory at the same venue in April. A winner at Punchestown when last in action, Thanksforthehelp is another to consider given his trainer has won three of the previous eight renewals.

Haiti Couleurs returns but this race may end up being fought out by TRANQUIL SEA (nap) and East India Express.

LEADER IN THE PARK progressed well over fences during his novice campaign with a brace of victories at Kempton and Warwick. The seven-year-old is expected to put his rivals under pressure on the front end and he may take some stopping if getting into a decent rhythm. Marvel De Cerisy is an interesting contender on his first start for Christian Williams, while Outlaw Peter has dropped to his last winning mark.

The vote goes to Ben Pauling's front-runner LEADER IN THE PARK, who is 2-5 over fences and is open to more progress this season.

WESTERN GEORGE stepped forward from his debut effort here in a valuable contest when placed at Carlisle last month. With a run under his belt already this campaign, that may be used to his advantage. Heaven Can Wait is open to improvement following his fourth at Uttoxeter in March and is now in the care of Fergal O'Brien. The well-bred Turbocharged, Padre Arthur and Looping D'arc appeal most of the newcomers.

The market should be informative but at this stage the vote goes to Dan Skelton's TURBOCHARGED, who is out of a smart bumper winner.
Ths is the racecard key.
