16:50 Newcastle (Class 2) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

WARRANT HOLDER is suitably bred for middle distances and there is a fair amount of substance to his third-placed finish over this trip posted at Leicester a fortnight ago. It's feasible the slow ground didn't play to his strengths in that race and as a half-brother to a couple of winners on the all-weather, switching to Tapeta could be beneficial. Maxi King commands respect but has a stiff test under top-weight. Therefore, fellow three-year-old Cape Breton could be a bigger danger back over this distance.

The vote goes to the unexposed dual course winner BRAGBOR, whose breeding suggests stepping up to this trip may suit.

17:25 Newcastle (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BENY NAHAR promisingly filling the runner-up berth on his his first two starts before being pitched into the Convivial at York last time. That valuable Knavesmire maiden is a traditionally strong affair and the son of Kingman should find this to be an easier assignment. The well-bred Moonlight Warrior should be wiser after being introduced in another decent-looking maiden at Newmarket last month. The son of Gleneagles could have a big say. Loma Express and Saxophonist need steps forward.

Beny Nahar is the one to beat but MOONLIGHT WARRIOR could find plenty of progress with his debut effort behind him.

18:00 Newcastle (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BALKADISHA, who cost 82,000gns foal, yet went for 115,000gns as a yearling, posted a sterling effort to finish second to useful type when she was introduced over this course and distance 19 days ago. A step forward on that form would make this daughter of Churchill hard to beat. Harriet Quimby has an appealing pedigree and should also be wiser after her debut third at Nottingham, while Light The Night Up has some course experience and is a potential improver stepping up in trip.

The two to focus on are the once-raced pair Balkadisha and HARRIET QUIMBY. The Crisford filly gets the nod.

18:30 Newcastle (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MASTERCLASS scored off a similar mark at Nottingham back in May and recent placed efforts on the Tapeta suggest another bold bid is on the cards. Having finished runner-up at Southwell a fortnight ago, he can go close representing last year's winning yard. Newyorkstateofmind has a bit to find with the selection on their latest running but could still make the frame, while Garifullina will be sharper for her second at Catterick and could be on the premises.

A clash between dangerous lurkers and in-form candidates. MASTERCLASS is preferred to Newyorkstateofmind in the latter category.

19:00 Newcastle (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SELECTION proved well suited to the mile trip when scoring in impressive fashion here on last week's handicap bow. The daughter of Cotai Glory appeared to win with plenty left in the tank and a 6lb penalty may not be be enough to halt her progress. Terrapin also won in fine style over C&D on his handicap debut and will likely prove a bigger threat than Travis, who found one too good here last month.

Both Selection and TERRAPIN (nap) are unexposed 3yos who come into this off the back of C&D wins, with preference for the latter.

19:30 Newcastle (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Course regular HERAKLES has recorded all three wins on the all-weather to date at this venue. He found only one too good back here last time, despite missing the break, and looks worthy of another chance on that showing. Zuffolo won over C&D last month and has solid claims back at this venue, while Blue Force could also make his presence felt after posting an improved effort at Southwell on his latest start.

Ganesha and Harb are greatly respected but this could be the day that BONNIE'S BOY sheds his maiden status.

20:00 Newcastle (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

RAFT UP ticks too many boxes to ignore with three wins over course and distance and a short-head second here last time. He has every chance to add to those successes now with Joe Fanning keeping the ride, assuming he gets a clear run. Tickets won last time out at Redcar but is 10lb higher back on the all-weather and Bellagio Man may prove the bigger danger.

Bellagio Man is much respected after a cosy win here last time but RAFT UP can extend a cracking C&D run since fitted with a hood.

20:30 Newcastle (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Trainer Antony Brittain won this last season and is back for more, this time with Asadjumeirah, a six-time C&D winner and second here earlier in the month. He can go close with a small step forward, but CAROLUS MAGNUS is preferred. He won very easily by over two lengths at Musselburgh last week and turns out quickly carrying a 4lb penalty, in the expectation he will go up more than that for future contests. Yorkshire Glory can also go well.

Carolus Magnus is back in form and can be dangerous but PROFIT STREET gets the vote off a favourable mark back on home territory.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
