13:08 Newcastle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although he finished last on his hurdles bow at Hereford earlier this month, Marhaba The Champ should be all the more wiser for that experience. However, CUEROS has been in fantastic heart on the Flat in Jersey during the summer and he's unlikely to be making up the numbers on this long journey north. Harry Derham's five-year-old may take some stopping if taking to timber and makes most appeal. Kids Say Lastgojoe may fare best of the remainder.

The best hurdles form has been shown by Crazy About Her and she rates as the main danger to multiple Jersey Flat winner CUEROS.

13:38 Newcastle (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The hat-trick seeking Couldbeaweapon merits respect, although he's likely to be priced accordingly given that he's 10lb well-in for his latest romp at Sedgefield. With that in mind, it could be worth chancing RADHARC NA SLAINE, who looked to find 2m4f too sharp on his fifth-placed effort at Worcester last time out. Sir Carnegie arrives here in decent heart and is still open to improvement over fences.

Despite the claims of Couldbeweapon, who is 10lb well in, preference is for SIR CARNEGIE, who has conditions to suit.

14:08 Newcastle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having returned to form with a good second at Sedgefield last month, BALRANALD looks ready to defend his crown. The nine-year-old dug deep to land the spoils in last year's edition here and has plenty going for him off the same mark. National Question was second that day and merits consideration with Charlie Maggs claiming a handy 5lb, while Cawthorne Cracker and Platenium are also of interest reverting to timber.

Following a sound run after a break, BALRANALD (nap) is taken to win this for the second year in a row. Gemini Man is next best.

14:38 Newcastle (Class 3) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

SECRET TRIX was only beaten a nose at Worcester prior to unseating when odds-on at Wetherby earlier this month, but he sets the standard with an official rating of 130. With a clear round, he could prove hard to beat. Chasingouttheblues showed ability on his chasing bow when third at Hexham and with that experience under his belt, the son of Sea Moon could have a say. Maghlaak can beat You Some Girl home for third.

Olly Murphy's SECRET TRIX is the clear pick on official marks and should be hard to beat if he can put in a clear round.

15:08 Newcastle (Class 4) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HOSTILE HOTELIER was turned over at odds-on when runner-up over fences at Sedgefield, but a switch to timber may see him back in the winner's enclosure. The seven-year-old shouldn't be inconvenienced reverting to an extended 2m7f and he shades the vote over Do No Wrong, who returned to form with a respectable second over the larger obstacles at Southwell and sits on an attractive mark over hurdles. Handicap debutant Fairlawn Skipper is a potential improver.

Although a bit disappointing last time, FAIRLAWN SKIPPER should appreciate this return to further for his handicap debut.

Having jumped out to his left at Ludlow 22 days ago, Whizz Kid should be much happier reverting to a left-handed track. The nine-year-old merits strong consideration in this small-field affair, but HALF SHOT is a touch more compelling. Iain Jardine's charge arrives on the back of a fair third at Kelso and a 2lb drop in the ratings may prove fruitful. C&D winner Arthur's Quay is the pick of the rest.

The tentative choice is CRACKING DESTINY, although he hasn't been at his best recently. Whizz Kid is another who should go well.

16:08 Newcastle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MONTE A BORD went into plenty of notebooks after finishing a never-nearer second on his debut at Kelso last month and any improvement could see him collect. Port Station and Connells Cross also filled the runner-up spot on their respective debuts, with the latter's form looking slightly stronger. Jennie Candlish's filly may serve the most resistance to the selection, although market support for newcomers Grazeon Sunshine or Prince Of Clova would be interesting.

An interesting bumper can go to MONTE A BORD, who was a promising second in a Kelso bumper that has worked out well on his debut.
