12:10 Newcastle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Mooserwirt is a must for the shortlist making his Rules bow on the back of an effortless success between the flags. He's in the right hands to progress and is noted, as is Walk On Son following a much-improved third at Carlisle. The verdict is for LEWISHAM GROVE, though. Jennie Candlish's runners must always be respected when they're sent north from her Staffordshire base and the Uttoxeter second sets the standard with an official rating of 107.

The vote goes to WALK ON SON, who shaped as though today's longer trip might suit when third at Carlisle last month.

12:45 Newcastle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

FAT HARRY is turned out quickly under a penalty following his chase debut success at Sedgefield last week. He's clearly appreciated the switch to fencing and there could be plenty more improvement to come, so a 7lb penalty might not be enough to stop him from going in again. Couldbeaweapon has won two of his last three starts and is of clear interest, while Ayr scorer Too Cool Forshrule is another to bear in mind.

The very lightly raced 6yo ATHAIR MOR ran a lot better at Perth than the margin of defeat suggests and he gets the nod.

13:20 Newcastle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LOOKING SPLENDID has really thrived since returning from his seasonal rest and he's on a hat-trick now following back-to-back October wins at Kelso and Carlisle. A 5lb rise is potentially lenient and his supporters will be pleased to see the excellent Dylan Johnston keeps the ride. Of the others, Summergrounds shoulders top-weight but will be fancied by many to at least make the frame, while C&D winner Parisian Fashion is noteworthy, especially if there is money around for her on her reappearance.

Triple C&D winner NORTH PARADE won't mind what the weather does and makes his seasonal debut from a good mark.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

TEDWIN HILLS made every yard of the running to complete a double at Warwick recently and, despite his 7lb penalty for that success, the son of Getaway might be up to the task. Yealand is a C&D winner who was last seen filling the runner-up spot at Bangor and could have a say, while last-time-out Kelso scorer Chapel Green holds an obvious chance.

Ben Haslam's ARTHUR'S QUAY got going just too late to reel in Moodofthemoment here last month but remains well handicapped.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Queens Venture struck by a short head in a class 2 handicap at Newton Abbot in August and has since switched to the Dean Summersby yard, so she warrants a market check. However, DO NO WRONG went in by three lengths over C&D last month and is just 5lb higher. With a similar performance, the son of Sageburg could prove hard to beat. Of the remainder, You Some Girl makes the most appeal.

Top of the list are DO NO WRONG and You Some Girl. Soft ground, however, could swing it in favour of the reappearing It's Maisy.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MCGRATH FROM CLUNE had plenty in hand when scoring by six lengths over 2m at Hereford earlier in the month. Given that he was 5lb out of the handicap that day, the nine-year-old is only 2lb higher here despite a 7lb penalty and he is very hard to oppose as a result. Powerofjet caught the eye when third on his seasonal return last month and could prove to be the main threat, ahead of Getaway Jewel.

McGrath From Clune has a major chance but is inconsistent. POWEROFJET (nap) is solid, while Take Centre Stage is interesting.

15:40 Newcastle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Those with experience do not set a particularly high standard, although Power Quest is a player based on his debut third at Exeter. However, a chance can be taken on MARVEL MAGIC, who cost 95,000 euros last year and is related to plenty of winners. Striking Midnight is out of a mare who was second in a Listed bumper and any market support for him would have to be noted.

Newcomers STRIKING MIDNIGHT, Majordomo and Marvel Magic are preferred.
