The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Ed Bethell has booked Archie Young to ride maiden The English Rogue, who steps up to a mile and a quarter for the first time and it will be interesting to see if the market speaks in his favour ahead of his handicap debut. Haveyoumissedme sprung a surprise at Redcar but may find this trip on the short side and a chance is taken on BEARWITH, a five-time distance winner having his first start since wind surgery.

Prescott 3yo KING'S HAND is given another chance to confirm the promise of his reappearance run. King Chaos is second pick.

16:05 Newcastle (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Rum Therapy scored over a furlong further at Thirsk in September and if she takes to the Tapeta, she has every chance in this field. However, BUTTERFLY BEACH missed the break before running on into third at Lingfield and if she can get away smartly, she might get off the mark at the fourth attempt. Green Dame and Fille Unique are others for the shortlist.

The fact that BUTTERFLY BEACH has gone off a short-priced favourite on all three starts suggests she's well regarded.

16:40 Newcastle (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Newcomer Thestral looks the part as a son of Dream Ahead and he warrants consideration, especially if the market speaks in his favour. Henriette Ronner drops in class after finishing eighth in a class 2 at Musselburgh, making her difficult to ignore, but AQUA BEAR could be the one. Second at Dundalk on his last start in Ireland, he has moved to Ian Williams, who should be able to get a win out of the Kodi Bear colt.

This looks a good opportunity for the ex-Irish AQUA BEAR, who sets a fairly useful standard on his second at Dundalk last month.

Darn Hot Gallop was always doing enough to win on debut at Wolverhampton, but it was perhaps not sparkling enough to be confident she'll go in again in this company under a penalty. She's certainly not overlooked, but LOMA EXPRESS could be the one getting 7lb on the back of an improved display here last month. Prima Bailarina is respected too.

Loma Express and Darn Hot Gallop are respected but the vote goes to PRIMA BAILARINA, who made a promising start at Redcar.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

It's surely just a matter of time before ZIGGY'S CONDOR gets back in the winning groove. His last two efforts on the all-weather were perfectly respectable and both came over this trip, while he also performed admirably in a competitive York handicap over 7f on his final turf start of the year last month. He's expected to prove too strong for Sugar Baby and Missmimi.

The rejuvenated THE GREEN MAN (nap) may have completed a C&D hat-trick but for being denied a clear run last time and can make amends.

18:40 Newcastle (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Fortamour resumed winning ways with a recent C&D success and remains of interest raised only 1lb. Kirkdale looks set to launch another strong challenge after finding one too good here three weeks ago, but ALPINE GIRL makes most appeal. The winner of two of her last three starts, Julie Camacho's improving sprinter scored over today's distance at Redcar with plenty left in the tank and she looks one to keep on the right side of back on the all-weather.

The return to AW could be just what C&D novice winner JUDICATURE needs and he is taken to return to winning ways.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JESMOND DAWN returned to winning ways with a vengeance when scoring easily over 7f here. This extra yardage holds no fears for the son of Dawn Approach and he can repeat the dose. Powerful Response proved suited to the drop in trip when runner-up over C&D. He can have a say in proceedings, while the veteran Jewel Maker goes well here and could also land a blow.

In a race where few obviously arrive in form it might be worth giving one more chance to NEWTOWN DUKE.
