15:12 Newcastle (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Trojan Sun absolutely sluiced through the Nottingham mud to supplement a Musselburgh triumph, although those victories came at 2m and beyond and he has yet to prove himself on an artificial surface. Haveyoumissedme is also probably better suited to further, but burst back into life at Redcar and has won here before. Loving Look and Machete have claims, but a chance is taken that first-time blinkers help RELOCAL recapture the form that saw him just miss over C&D in October.

Topweight MACHETE looked on the way back when third over C&D last month and that form has been advertised since.

15:43 Newcastle (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ART GALLERY was bitterly disappointing on her Southwell introduction, but proved that running to be all wrong when coming within a neck of making it second-time lucky at Wolverhampton. Her conqueror that day has since maintained her unbeaten record and James Ferguson's filly really should be winning this. Viking Glory has been gelded since a promising fourth on his York debut and is the danger as long as there aren't any above-average newcomers, the pick of which is Raven's View.

The strongest claims are presented by Art Gallery and VIKING GLORY and the latter can build on his promising York debut.

16:15 Newcastle (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The money came for CROWN THE FUTURE on his nursery debut at Wolverhampton last week and he didn't disappoint, landing the odds with a strong finish over 7f. On that evidence, the son of Coulsty will relish the extra furlong and the decision to turn him out again under a penalty can reap reward. Popty Ping has been edging closer towards the winner's enclosure, but may have to wait a little longer. She is still preferred to Lope Harswell for any forecast bets.

It wasn't a strong race that CROWN THE FUTURE won at Wolverhampton last week but he was well backed and shaped as though 1m would suit.

16:45 Newcastle (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Forest Caper is the most battle-hardened of this field and sets the standard with an official rating of 73, but the one that appeals most is CERELIA. The daughter of Wootton Bassett cost 410,000 euros as a yearling and it would be no surprise to see her make an instant impression for the in-form William Haggas team. Bowfell has been gelded since his sixth on debut at Wolverhampton in April and could get closer with that experience under his belt.

Forest Caper is reliable but could prove vulnerable again. Newcomer Cerelia and the once-raced BOWFELL are viable alternatives.

17:15 Newcastle (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

UP THE AGENDA struck by a neck on his nursery debut at Yarmouth prior to finding heavy conditions against him when well beaten at Nottingham in October. If Jack Morland's juvenile can return to the form of his victory two starts ago, he could be the one to beat. Somebody was just touched off into second at Newcastle on his most recent start and has to be respected, despite a 2lb higher rating. Houndhill can beat Mister Moet home for third.

With improvement plausible, handicap debutant HOUNDHILL looks particularly interesting. Somebody is second pick.

The hat-trick seekng Coramento is bound to have his supporters, but AISLING OSCAR's effortless victory over 7f here on Thursday makes him tough to oppose. The four-year-old didn't have to come out of first gear to record that success and a similar performance will see him complete a double. Typeface was beaten a length into second over C&D last time and is the pick of the remainder.

Several runners hold strong claims on recent course form. The percentage call goes to low-mileage 3yo TYPEFACE.

18:15 Newcastle (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Since running out an emphatic winner over C&D at the beginning of last month, JESMOND DAWN has failed by just a neck and a short head in two appearances here. Only 1lb higher than for that latest agonising defeat, compensation awaits Grant Tuer's gelding. King's School has been holding his form well and he will relish the return to his beloved Newcastle following a close-up Redcar third. Flying Fletcher is also happier here, while Asian Journey starts out for a new stable and is surely capable of better.

Flying Fletcher will appreciate the return to AW but KING'S SCHOOL has a fine record over C&D and may be able to win again.

18:45 Newcastle (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A really competitive sprint to round out proceedings, with THUNDERSTORM KATIE taken to complete her three-timer after prevailing by the narrowest of margins at Musselburgh and this venue, with the most recent coming at the chief expense of a subsequent winner. State Of Madness couldn't quite manage to land his own hat-trick at Yarmouth, but is dangerous if transferring that form to the all-weather. Bath winner I Need Your Love also needs to show he handles the surface, whereas Kirkdale has no such worries. Throw Monsieur Kodi and Hunky Dory into the mix too.

A competitive sprint but KIRKDALE (nap) may prove himself to be a fair bit better than this mark when the cards fall right for him.
