|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (25/1 -213%)Cosmic Soul |
25/1(-213%) | (9) Cosmic Soul 25/1, Good effort over hurdles last time but ran poorly on his previous Flat start. Returns from a short break; effective over 14-16f on a sound surface and has a chance at best, though something to prove back on the level. Generally in good form this year but has something to prove back on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/2 -38%)Young Endless |
11/2(-38%) | (5) Young Endless 11/2, Ran to form when second, beaten 1/2l off 67 last time despite a 4lb rise. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

In-form 9yo who has scored four times this term, including at Wolverhampton latest start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (9/2 +55%)Haveyoumissedme |
9/2(+55%) | (1) Haveyoumissedme 9/2, Probably needed a stiffer test of stamina when fourth, beaten 5l off 75 last time. Effective from 12f to 16f, handles the all-weather, and looks well treated with the longer trip likely to suit. Back in better form the last twice; defied a 10lb higher mark over C&D in 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (5/1 -43%)Educate |
5/1(-43%) | (6) Educate 5/1, Stable won this race last year. Ran to form when beaten 3 1/2l off 65 at Wolverhampton last time. Suited by 10-16f, mostly on the all-weather; the step up in trip should help. Knocking at the door for new yard; went close over C&D on penultimate start; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (28/1 -40%)Atlantic Sunset |
28/1(-40%) | (3) Atlantic Sunset 28/1, Showed a slightly better effort dropped in trip but was well beaten in a handicap here last time. Best around 12f on a sound surface, though recent efforts suggest enthusiasm is waning and has plenty to prove. Has failed to back up the form of his Newmarket win; new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (50/1 -213%)Zephlyn |
50/1(-213%) | (7) Zephlyn 50/1, Poor effort after a break when down the field in a handicap here most recently. Likes to make the running and acts on the all-weather, but must show he retains ability after two below-par runs. Well beaten over 12.5f on return from break but may fare better back at 2m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (12/1 +25%)Little Peter |
12/1(+25%) | (4) Little Peter 12/1, Ran a bit freely and covered extra ground when below form in a handicap at Ascot last time. Best at around 2m on a sound surface but returns from a long absence. Sole attempt over C&D resulted in a success off current mark in October 2024. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

YOUNG ENDLESS attempted to make it a fourth win on the bounce when denied at Lingfield last Monday. However, the six-year-old still produced a fine effort in defeat and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him go one better. Educate has to be respected stepping back up in trip judged on his penultimate second over C&D, while others to note are Billy Bathgate and Cosmic Soul.

Preference is for EDUCATE who looks likely to benefit from this step back up in distance. Prince Quattro is second pick.

1st (3) (3/1 -20%)Luminare |
3/1(-20%) | (3) Luminare 3/1, Stayed the trip and produced a solid effort when 6 1/4l third in a nursery at Chelmsford last time; trainer in form; effective from 5f to 7f and acts on the all-weather; official mark looks about right. Pretty encouraging third at Chelmsford and she could build on that effort today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/4 +42%)Balthamos |
7/4(+42%) | (2) Balthamos 7/4, Travelled best but found little, carrying his head high and looking a bit irresolute; beaten 1 1/4l off 75 at Lingfield last time; effective at 7f and acts on the all-weather; temperament remains a question mark. 0-7 but he's run some good races, including last time; might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/1 -11%)Urgent Call |
5/1(-11%) | (1) Urgent Call 5/1, Settled better but may not have stayed up in trip, beaten 8l off 75 last time; effective over 7/8f and acts on the all-weather; a touch disappointing last time and the drop in trip may help. C&D win last month; only fifth at Wolverhampton since but could bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/4 -29%)Jackabi |
9/4(-29%) | (4) Jackabi 9/4, A little keener than ideal but ran to form off a slow pace when beaten 1 1/4l off 70 here last time; suited by 7f and acts on the all-weather; a consistent sort. In good form since switched to nurseries, including C&D; a first win may well be imminent. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The drop back to 7f is definitely a positive for Urgent Call having weakened again in the closing stages when tackling further at Wolverhampton at the end of last month. Balthamos is likely to be competitive once again, but it would be no surprise if JACKABI shed the maiden tag. Runner-up on both nursery starts of late, Ian Williams' gelding has been found a suitable opportunity.

The filly LUMINARE is open to improvement on her second start back from a break and earns the vote ahead of Jackabi.

1st (1) (15/2 -88%)Golden Havana |
15/2(-88%) | (1) Golden Havana 15/2, Looked beaten on merit when beaten 2 1/2l off 62 here last time; wears blinkers for the first time. Effective at 5/6f and acts on the all-weather. Flattered by maiden outlier and official mark reflects ability. Promising fourth in C&D maiden on third start but hasn't kicked on in nurseries. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/8 +8%)Sunlit Sea |
11/8(+8%) | (3) Sunlit Sea 11/8, Caught well back and wide when beaten 1 1/4l off 59 at Chelmsford last time. Effective at 5/6f and acts on the all-weather. Not best trip last time and could improve a fraction. Has run well in third in both nurseries; could be off the mark sooner rather than later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (12/1 -50%)Havin A Flyer |
12/1(-50%) | (5) Havin A Flyer 12/1, Too keen and went too fast early when beaten 6l in a maiden here last time. Effective at 5f and acts on the all-weather. Consistent but likely to find one too good and needs to set more sensible fractions. On a reduced mark and has run some good races, but now 0-12 and others are preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/4 +36%)Mystical Land |
9/4(+36%) | (2) Mystical Land 9/4, Tired near the line after making too much use of early pace when beaten 3 1/4l off 62 here last time. Effective at 6f and acts on the all-weather. Official mark looks about right. Weakened into fourth over 6f here on nursery debut; 5f could be just what he needs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (9/2 -13%)Data Fata Secutus |
9/2(-13%) | (4) Data Fata Secutus 9/2, Too keen and went too fast early, swamped late when beaten 2l off 60 here last time. Has plenty of speed in pedigree and acts on the all-weather. Looks on a fair mark but must get fractions right. Headstrong before fading over C&D last time; could pose serious threat if settling better. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SUNLIT SEA has shaped with enough promise on both starts in nursery company to suggest she might gain her first career victory. The daughter of Mehmas finished third at Chelmsford earlier in the month and a repeat of that effort may suffice. Mystical Land drops to 5f for the first time and that could yield some improvement, while his stablemate Golden Havana (fifth) might reverse C&D form with Data Fata Secutus (fourth) with blinkers applied.

This may be a good opportunity for SUNLIT SEA, who has been a good third on both nursery starts. Mystical Land is feared.

4/9(+51%) | (1) Inspired 4/9, Raced wide and keen when well backed, finishing a promising runner-up beaten 1 1/4l in a novice here on only start. Middle-distance bred, effective over 1m, acts on all-weather; returns from a long break. Dubawi colt; showed promise with second of five in C&D event 11 months ago; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (16/1 -78%)Mao Shang Wong |
16/1(-78%) | (2) Mao Shang Wong 16/1, Made too much use of and tired late when beaten 7 1/4l in a novice here last time. Sire was a miler and dam a sprinter; stamina for 1m is questionable and he will need to be ridden with more restraint. Another step forward is possible but he's likely to be more interesting in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (3/1 -50%)Glamorous Angela |
3/1(-50%) | (6) Glamorous Angela 3/1, Game effort building on a good debut when second, beaten a nose in a novice here last time. Effective at 7f and acts on all-weather; a likeable type who may have a little more to come. Clear promise in 7f events at Newcastle; likely to stay this longer trip; leading player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (50/1 -150%)Mali And Me |
50/1(-150%) | (7) Mali And Me 50/1, Improved from debut when stepped up in trip, beaten 5l in a novice here last time. Likely to appreciate 7f or further and acts on all-weather; some further progress possible. Held by Glamorous Angela on course form last time. |

15/2(+25%) | (3) Rajstar 15/2, Produced a solid effort when beaten 7 1/4l in a maiden at The Curragh on debut. Speedily bred but stays at least 7f and acts on fast ground. Absent for a while but looked useful on Irish debut and open to improvement. Absent for 16 months but is interesting on the bare form on sole Irish effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (80/1 -100%)Wadacre Moriarty |
80/1(-100%) | (5) Wadacre Moriarty 80/1, Found limitations exposed when comfortably held in a novice at Southwell on second start. Shows speed in his pedigree but looks limited on what he has achieved so far. Poor chance on the figures. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

INSPIRED should take some stopping on the evidence of his encouraging debut run here in January. He was well fancied that day and, given connections, should be fit and ready to do himself justice on his return. Glamorous Angela has had a couple of attempts and was beaten by the narrowest of margins here last time. She is noted along with Rajstar.

Progress from INSPIRED looks likely provided he returns from an 11-month absence in good order, while Glamorous Angela is respected.

13/2(+13%) | (7) One More Bottle 13/2, Poor effort when beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap here last time; effective at 7/8f and acts on AW; disappointing in last two starts and remains on a stiff mark. Second over C&D on return to AW but hasn't backed up that effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (20/1 +39%)Pallas Lord |
20/1(+39%) | (1) Pallas Lord 20/1, Made too much use of but poor again when well beaten in a handicap here last time; effective over 7/8f, better on AW, and currently in terrible form. Multiple course winner but has a big question mark over current form. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (14/1 +0%)Pride Eye |
14/1(+0%) | (3) Pride Eye 14/1, Didn't seem to stay when upped slightly in trip and was well beaten in a novice at Wolverhampton last time; best effort came at 7f; lacks reliable form. Weak claims on novice form but may do better now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (12) (14/1 -40%)Marcello Si |
14/1(-40%) | (12) Marcello Si 14/1, Ran about to form when making plenty of use of himself and beaten 4l off 47 here last time; effective at 7/8f and acts on AW; consistent at a low level. Possibly not crying out for return to 1m on second run back from break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Ana Emaraaty likes it here and will be fancied by many to at least make the frame. Marcello Si is another who might represent some decent each-way value in a competitive heat, but MISS RAINCLOUD gets the vote. She has finished third here the last twice and will appreciate going back up to the mile judged on her latest run.

Despite his advancing years, TRAIS FLUORS may be able to record a fifth course success. Miss Raincloud is second choice.

4/1(+53%) | (3) Daonethatgotaway 4/1, Better effort last time when beaten 1 1/4l off 65 at Dundalk, probably reflecting his current level. Effective from 8f to 11f and acts on good and all-weather. The mark looks fair, though comparing GB and Irish form can be tricky. Irish challenger who has done his winning over 1m; drop back to 7f is the question mark. |

Acts on any surface and the longer trip may help; a definite threat. Last couple of 6f efforts suggest this return to 7f is worth exploring; on a handy mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Another tough handicap for punters to solve here and FRONT GUNNER is the safe play. He has improved since switching to the all-weather in September and there didn't appear to be any fluke about his latest C&D triumph. Blufferonthebus is on a hat-trick and must be taken seriously, as should Carolus Magnus, who is sporting blinkers for the first time.

The votes goes to hat-trick seeker BLUFFERONTHEBUS (nap), ahead of Wichahpi.

SUPERIOR COUNCIL won over C&D last month and has backed that effort up by hitting the frame in two subsequent outings at this venue. Iain Jardine's gelding gets the vote ahead of Pit Boss, who can bounce back from his latest effort here. Call Glory was runner-up over C&D last Tuesday and has to enter calculations off a 2lb lower mark.

Off an attractive mark returned to AW, Irish raider MOUNT RUAPEHU looks particularly interesting. Call Glory is second pick.

TEARDROPS has progressed well in handicap company and arrives seeking a C&D hat-trick. Richard Spencer's charge defied a penalty last time and a 3lb rise may not be enough to stop him. Mister Sky Blue didn't get a clear run here last week and is expected to be in the mix once again. Spartan Fighter, Back Before Dark and Instant Bond appear best of the remainder.

The progressive 3yo TEARDROPS is taken to complete a C&D hat-trick. C&D winner The Gay Blade could be a big danger.

THUNDERSTORM KATIE won twice over 5f in October before not running to her best when returning to 6f here a fortnight ago. However, she is likely to prove much happier dropping back in trip and is taken to come out on top. Carlton And Co went close under a 5lb penalty at Chelmsford and she can go well along with Bibendum, who went up 6lb for scoring here last month.

Topweight CARLTON AND CO arrives in top form and can prove too strong for Tickets and Water Of Leith.
Ths is the racecard key.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
