There were 51 Races on Saturday 28th December 2024 across 7 meetings. There was 7 races at Newbury, 6 races at Leicester, 7 races at Leopardstown, 6 races at Catterick, 7 races at Limerick, 9 races at Newcastle, 9 races at Southwell, no doubt Tomform helped you find a winner.
The data in the racecards below is for the past year. View the racecard key.

ALPINE SIERRA scored over C&D a couple of weeks ago and Jim Goldie's six-year-old sets the standard based on that evidence, despite a 4lb rise in the ratings. Sandret hit the crossbar over a mile here and is likely to be in the mix once again. Powerful Response, just a length behind the selection last time, edges out Urban Road to be best of the rest.

KAARANAH ran well under a change of tactics when third to Urban Road over C&D at the beginning of the month and is now 4 lb better off with that rival, so he's taken to reverse the form and come out on top. Falcon Nine probably isn't the most straightforward but is up to defying his current mark when things fall right, while Alpine Sierra remains feasibly treated on old form for his recent C&D success.

Ben Haslam's 8yo SANDRET has been lightly raced in recent years but he ran well over 1m recently and is arguably better suited by 1m2f.

Rock Armour has been running consistently well in defeat of late and is likely to be in the mix once again. That said, marginal preference is for RAINWATER, who filled second place over this trip at Chelmsford last time and is only 1lb higher. On their best form, Humble Spark and Phone Tag are others who are capable of going well.

HUMBLE SPARK didn't enjoy the rub of the green when fifth here last time so is fancied to bag another C&D success eased 1 lb. Course-winner Percy Willis heads the list of dangers with in-form pair Rainwater and Phone Tag also in the picture.

Two-time C&D winner RUSSIAN VIRTUE shaped as though he was in need of the run on his recent stable debut and he earns the vote.

The well-bred SHOWERING displayed plenty of promise when making a winning debut over C&D a few weeks ago and William Haggas' colt could prove to be too good once again, despite a 7lb penalty. The rest with experience do not inspire a lot of confidence, so The Watcher and Rainbow Nebula both have to be monitored in the market ahead of their debuts.

A thin event in which SHOWERING can defy a penalty and supplement his debut C&D success. Newcomers The Watcher and Rainbow Nebula represent top yards and may prove the biggest threats, whilst Goldrush Glory makes most appeal of the remainder with experience.

This is uncompetitive and SHOWERING looks well capable of defying a 7lb penalty for his C&D success. The Watcher is second choice.

BLUE LAKOTA ran out a comfortable winner over C&D before following up at Chelmsford under a penalty. Kevin Ryan's gelding arrives in fine fettle and is expected to be a tough nut to crack in his hat-trick bid. Lima Sierra has stepped forward on both nursery outings, making the frame twice here, and she enters calculations along with recent course winner Startling.

BLUE LAKOTA is thriving at present and is fancied to complete the hat-trick. Startling resumed progress/winning ways here last week and is feared most ahead of Lima Sierra, who may do better still.

Hat-trick seeker Blue Lakota is much respected but preference is for LAURENS DREAM who seems to come alive here.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

VOLENTI registered a third C&D victory from his last four starts and a 6lb rise might not be enough to stop him from progressing further, despite this being a competitive race for the grade. His only recent defeat came at the hands of Trais Fluors, who has also won since and has to be respected stepping back up to a mile. Others for the shortlist include Book Of Life, Mercurius Power and Callianassa.

LAHAB signalled he is ready to end a losing run when a good recent second here so is fancied to capitalise on a handy-looking mark at the chief expense of three-time C&D scorer Volenti. Book of Life is also weighted to have a say, with Mercurius Power and Trais Fluors also worthy of respect in a competitive event.

This can go to TRAIS FLUORS, who's better off with Volenti than when beating him over C&D early last month.

BRAVO ZULU has taken advantage of a falling handicap mark and the application of blinkers since switching to David Loughnane to win twice in December and a 3lb rise for his latest success at Southwell is negated by Connor Planas' claim. Red Maids has to enter the reckoning in her attempt for a fourth victory on the bounce. Others to note include Byzantine Empress and Starliner.

This looks a good race with plenty of in-form horses on show, but it could pay to side with the less obvious SWISS ACE, who shaped well under a negative ride when fifth behind Red Maids over C&D earlier this month and he looks ready to strike from a reduced mark (won this race last year). Bravo Zulu and the aforementioned Red Maids head up the dangers, with Harry Did and King's School both certainly not out of things, either.

The 3yo HARRY DID didn't get the chance to justify favouritism at Wolverhampton having found his share of trouble.

MAHATO improved for the application of a tongue-tie when finishing runner-up at Wolverhampton. The three-year-old remains unexposed after only six starts and a bold bid is anticipated. Caffu Zafeen is one to note on his debut for David Simcock's yard having been gelded since finishing fourth at Yarmouth on his handicap bow. Both Pals Battalion and Beale Street tasted success over C&D last time, with the former preferred off his new mark.

PALS BATTALION can once again confirm his superiority over Showtime Mahomes, the pair having met here 22 days ago, while Caffu Zafeen is an interesting new recruit for the David Simcock yard.

Kept to this trip, MAHATO could well register a first handicap win. Pals Battalion is second choice.

THE RIDLER scored over C&D to end a long losing run and Richard Fahey's charge can follow up that success in this lower grade now back to winning ways. Darlo Pride is at the top of his game and bids for a hat-trick having struck at Wolverhampton a week ago to supplement a track-and-trip triumph. Buzz Box is edging closer and could pose a threat after finishing runner-up here last time.

A few horses that like to go forward here, and THE RIDDLER could be the answer to this tricky puzzle. Drawn in stall 2 with pace around him, he should get a nice toe into the race and can follow up his success at this venue last week. Hat-trick seeking Darlo Pride is drawn next to the selection, and can chase him home, while Brian The Snail can hit the frame with a better break from the stalls.

Some in-form sprinters locking horns and THE RIDLER (nap) is taken to follow up his game C&D win 11 days ago.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ANGEL OF ANTRIM responded well to the refitting of a visor and bolted up by five lengths here last week. The headgear remains in place and he should have no trouble confirming latest running with the second Concert Boy. The latter will likely be in the mix once again, with an apprentice's 7lb allowance helping his cause. Keep Me Stable was narrowly beaten here on her penultimate start and is not out of it if reproducing that effort.

WINDSOR PASS remains without a win but rates just the pick of these weights so edges the vote in a highly-open contest. C&D scorer Buttercross Flyer heads the lists of dangers, while Concert Boy, Angel of Antrim and Ishe Worth Agamble can all have a say too in this very open contest.

Angel Of Antrim isn't opposed lightly but SIR MAXI looks a sporting alternative off in a race which could be run to suit.
Ths is the racecard key.
