22/1(-83%) | (9) Billy Bathgate 22/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Wolverhampton two starts ago; caught a bit far back but close to form when fifth, beaten 6l off 58 last time; effective from 14-16f and acts on the all-weather; in excellent form though his new mark looks stiff. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ROYAL BLAZE was only narrowly denied when second over C&D three weeks ago and the four-year-old could go one better on this occasion, despite a 2lb rise. The recent course winner Golspie is an obvious threat to the selection but does step up in trip, while the consistent Prince Quattro edges out Percy Willis to be best of the rest.

This could be the day that multiple hurdle winner PRINCE QUATTRO finally clicks on the Flat as he's been threatening of late.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (18/1 +45%)Freezing Havana |
18/1(+45%) | (7) Freezing Havana 18/1, 20 Feb; Havana Grey filly; dam unraced; likely to need the run. 10,000gns yearling; unraced dam a half-sister to three winners; betting to guide. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

STARRYFIELD displayed plenty of promise when filling second place on his debut at Doncaster in July and James Owen's colt could be hard to beat with the benefit of that experience. Viking Glory is another who brings strong form to the table and has to be noted as a result, while any market support for Extremely Zain would be interesting.

Extremely Zain is a newcomer of note but VIKING GLORY could put his experience to good use.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (4/1 -20%)Popty Ping |
4/1(-20%) | (4) Popty Ping 4/1, Returned to best in a visor when landing a handicap by a head off a 5lb lower mark at Southwell last time. Ridden by the top course jockey and effective from 6f to 8f. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (12/1 -200%)Container Express |
12/1(-200%) | (5) Container Express 12/1, Produced a game effort to land a handicap by a neck off a 3lb lower mark here last time. Usually held up and effective at 6f on the all-weather. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (22/1 -340%)Angelic Rascal |
22/1(-340%) | (2) Angelic Rascal 22/1, Disappointing on handicap debut when beaten 7l in a nursery at Wolverhampton last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time and effective at 8f. Opening mark may have been a bit stiff. Last of six on nursery debut; drops in trip with a tongue-tie added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Popty Ping and Container Express both merit plenty of respect following victories on their most recent outings. However, their new marks demand improvement from them and a chance can be taken with HENRIETTE RONNER. William Haggas' filly put in a career best in a maiden here last time and an opening mark of 62 should be workable on her nursery debut.

The form of POPTY PING's Southwell win has been franked and she can win from Henriette Ronner and Dagger Strike.

Effective over 7-8f and acts on a sound surface. Up 3lb and looks on a stiff mark but better than bare form suggests. 3-4 on the AW; did well to win at Southwell last time and might well go in again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Drop in trip shouldn't be an issue. Recent C&D winner off just 2lb lower; blew the start at Southwell on Sunday (6f). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

TOWERLANDS secured a hat-trick when successful over a mile at Southwell 10 days ago and the in-form gelding could add another victory to his record here, despite a 4lb rise in the ratings. Bobby Joe Leg also won on his most recent outing, but Selection may be an even bigger threat as she may benefit from a drop in trip here.

The 3yo TOWERLANDS (nap) did well to win at Southwell and he's clearly improving. That was over 1m but a stiff 7f should be fine.

Failed to win for Alice Haynes this year but starts out for new stable on a fair mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (7/2 +42%)Arnhem |
7/2(+42%) | (1) Arnhem 7/2, Close to form over an inadequate trip when beaten 2l off a 1lb higher mark here last time. Has a top course jockey and a wide draw. Ideally wants 6f, acts on any surface, and remains on a workable mark. Drops in class and steps back up in trip; should have a big run in him. |

18/1(+10%) | (10) Habrdi 18/1, Poor effort at an inadequate trip when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap here last time. Has a wide draw and is effective at 7/8f, acts on all-weather; looks better suited by further. Struggled in 2025; eligible for weaker races and others appeal more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

STIRRUP CUP returned to form when filling third place over C&D when last seen in November and it would be no surprise to see Tim Easterby's gelding play a leading role off a 1lb lower mark here. The consistent Monsieur Kodi has to be of interest as first-time cheekpieces may spark some progression, while Judgment Call and Maxi Boy complete the shortlist.

Judgment Call and Bright are of interest but ARNHEM is back down in grade and can defy top weight.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The consistent FRANCESI bolted up over C&D two starts ago and was only narrowly denied off this mark at Wolverhampton a week ago. On that evidence, the six-year-old is the safest pick in an open event. Powerful Response has been knocking on the door of late and is likely to be in the mix once again, along with Second Fiddle.

He has a poor strike-rate overall but FRANCESI is bang in form, including with a win two starts back under today's pilot Myla Coppins.

9/1(+0%) | (2) Cloch Nua 9/1, Had no chance after a poor break and finished down the field in a Wolverhampton handicap last time. Usually held up and effective at 7f to 8f. Bit to prove after two disappointing runs. Big chance on this year's best; quiet in two runs back from a summer break; market useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (80/1 -300%)Sogannie |
80/1(-300%) | (9) Sogannie 80/1, Didn't stay when finishing down the field in a handicap at Southwell most recently. Effective at 7f and acts on the all-weather. Has shown very little since her debut. Poor form in two handicaps this winter; no appeal. |

15/2(-7%) | (1) Cooperation 15/2, Poor effort when well beaten in a handicap here last time. Usually held up and drawn wide. Effective from 7f to 10f and handles any surface. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

INSTANT BOND has made the frame on his last couple of starts off this mark and this moderate contest appears to be an ideal opportunity for the four-year-old to secure his first victory. Mapledurham has been running well in defeat of late and could pose the biggest threat, although Rooska and Law Degree are others who could go very well.

Instant Bond can go well back at 7f but MAPLEDURHAM may be able to make a winning stable debut.

4th (7) (6/1 -9%)Cable Beach |
6/1(-9%) | (7) Cable Beach 6/1, Won by a head off a 3lb lower mark at Southwell two starts back and ran to form when fourth, beaten 2 1/2l off 48 last time from a wide draw. Best at 7f, acts on all-weather, and in good form though the mark may now just anchor him. Southwell win last month was followed by a good run back there 11 days ago; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (5/1 +9%)Strobelight |
5/1(+9%) | (6) Strobelight 5/1, A bit below his best when beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark at Southwell last time. Blinkers go on for the first time. 200/1(-700%) | (3) Cordelin 200/1, Beaten 2f out as if something was amiss when well beaten in a novice here last time. Effective at 6f and acts on all-weather, but may have a breathing issue and looks a risky proposition. Tailed off on stable debut this month after a long absence; hard to fancy on h'cap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Bomb Squad and Little Ted both arrive here with strong claims following placed efforts on their most recent outings. However, preference is for ANA EMARAATY, who was beaten by less than a length when third over a mile here two weeks ago and the five-year-old makes plenty of appeal off a 1lb lower mark on this occasion. Wyvern has an each-way shout.

Strobelight can go well in his new headgear but BOMB SQUAD has been threatening and this could be his day.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The hat-trick seeking Yorkshire Glory has to be high on the shortlist following back-to-back C&D victories. That said, GOLDMOYNE bolted up over this track and trip a couple of weeks ago and even an 11lb rise may still underestimate his ability. The rest have questions to answer right now, but Spun To Gold and Atomic Mass are the pick of them.

Goldmoyne bolted up here 13 days ago and can go well despite the 11lb rise. MAYO COUNTY caught the eye on her return though.
Ths is the racecard key.
