17:15 Newmarket (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sudbury Hill improved on his debut effort to shed his maiden tag at Newcastle last month and should mount another bold bid. However, he might find it tough to successfully concede 13lb to EMERALD COAST, who shaped with lots of promise when finishing a close third on her Chester introduction. With any amount of improvement to come, she could be the one to beat. Market support behind newcomer Sports Day would be interesting.

St Mark's Basilica colt MONASTRY has finished both his races out well and he should be well served by this stiffer track.

17:52 Newmarket (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This can go the way of the William Haggas-trained SUHUB, who sets the standard with an official rating of 71. The daughter of Mohaather hit the woodwork over 7f at Leicester last month and is expected to appreciate the return to a mile. Arf's Duchess offered encouragement when fourth on her reappearance at Thirsk and could have lots more to offer. Of the remainder, Self Charging makes the most appeal.

It's hard to recall many weaker novices staged at Newmarket and one that looks at the mercy of SUHUB.

18:25 Newmarket (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Cancan In The Rain struck by just under a length at Southwell a fortnight ago and holds an obvious chance off only 3lb higher. Pink Lily made the frame in a warmer event at Newbury when last seen and is respected on her return, but DREAM PIRATE gets the vote. The five-year-old finished third in this grade at Nottingham and has kindly been dropped 1lb. With Tom Marquand booked, he could be the one to beat.

An open handicap. CANCAN IN THE RAIN was well backed when winning at Southwell over 7f and this stiff 1m won't pose any problems.

19:00 Newmarket (Class 2) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

DARK TORNADO had the measure of Sterling Knight (second) over 7f on the Rowley Mile in May before being far from disgraced in the Summer Mile at Ascot last month. Denis Quinn's gelding reverts to handicap company from only 4lb higher than that latest success and the low-mileage son of Dark Angel could bounce back. Elarak struggled in Listed company over C&D but he remains of interest, as does recent Thirsk scorer Rhythm Master. Dutch Decoy picked up this prize in 2022 can't be overlooked either.

This could be tactical. A chance is taken on MR CHAPLIN who isn't in as bad form as his figures may suggest. He's unexposed at 1m.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having failed to see out 1m4f here last month, it didn't take long for CHARMING WHISPER to regain the winning thread with a comfortable triumph over C&D. Philip McBride's charge must now shoulder a penalty, but he is still relatively lightly raced at this trip and could have more to offer. Show Biz Kid struck the woodwork at Newbury and is respected from just 1lb higher. Bobacious, who finished second when attempting to complete a hat-trick at Windsor, is also noted.

Being up with the pace could be beneficial and the in-form BOBACIOUS (nap) is unlikely to be far off the lead under Tom Marquand.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

STARPROOF was something of a surprise winner at Ffos Las last week. A 5lb penalty should be no barrier to further success judged on past exploits, though, and with Tom Marquand booked, it would appear that another big run is likely. Sarafina Mshairi went close at Windsor last time out and a second career success doesn't look far away. Others to note include Lipsink and Royal Accord.

Starproof is respected under a penaly but preference is for ROYAL ACCORD who has compiled a solid profile this year.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
