13:45 Newton Abbot (Class 2) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Back to form with an easy success at Perth last time out after a respectable second over C&D before that, HELTENHAM sets the standard, and he still looks well-treated on old form. Yes Indeed has been on a roll since joining the Martin Keighley stable, and stepping up in trip could bring about further improvement in the eight-year-old. A promising runner-up at Chepstow last time out, Light N Strike is capable of being in the shake-up, along with Excello.

Ready preference is for LIGHT N STRIKE, who finished well from a long way off the pace for a clear second at Chepstow recently.

14:15 Newton Abbot (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

It is difficult to look past the Dan Skelton-trained ROXANNE, who impressed when scoring on her hurdles debut at Ayr last month. Formerly with Ed Dunlop on the level, the five-year-old should enjoy this ground and she is preferred to Roadshow, who hasn't exactly set the world alight since arriving from France but his stable has an excellent record here. Ben Lomond and Moves Like Mason cannot be ruled out either.

This ought to be straightforward for ROXANNE, who was fairly useful on the Flat and won on her recent hurdle debut.

14:45 Newton Abbot (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Despite a brief scare, GWENNIE MAY JEM always appeared in control when seeing off El Rojo Grande at Warwick last time out and, despite a 6lb pull at the weights for the runner-up on this occasion, Dan Skelton's charge is taken to follow up. Crac De Megaudais would have strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his success at Fakenham in January.

Recent Warwick winner GWENNIE MAY JEM can confirm superiority over the reopposing El Rojo Grande here.

15:15 Newton Abbot (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SWEET CARYLINE made the frame in this class at Exeter in March and has been dropped 1lb. Joe Tizzard's seven-year-old makes only her fifth handicap outing and with the likelihood of more to come, she could be the one to beat. Mairis Icon occupied the runner-up berth in a warmer contest at Wincanton and should remain competitive, while Asian Spice sports first-time cheekpieces and is another to consider.

This looks good for CLEAR STORM (nap), who lost out only narrowly over C&D on her stable debut and is back on better ground today.

15:50 Newton Abbot (Class 4) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A DEFINITE GETAWAY successfully completed a double at Hereford on his latest outing and a further 3lb rise may underestimate the pace of his progression. The seven-year-old remains in the same grade and will prove very difficult to beat. Onethreefivenotout finished a fair third at Plumpton last month and can go well, while Killer Kane is another to take seriously.

It might pay to chance the fitness of KILLER KANE, who is used to running in stronger races than this.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

AL SAYAH finished well clear of the third when beaten a length at Exeter and is just 3lb higher. If the five-year-old can run to a similar level, she could be the one to beat. Iris Des Issards struck over track and trip and is likely to have his supporters off a 4lb higher rating. Of the remainder, Supreme Yeats makes the most appeal.

Preference is for last month's C&D winner IRIS DES ISSARDS, who certainly does not look harshly treated by a 4lb rise.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
