The form of JUGGERNAUT's most recent success at Stratford in October hasn't worked out particularly well, but he was in command that day - and a subsequent 10lb rise might not be enough to stop him from going in again. Roadshow struggled at Warwick latest but he could improve for the switch to handicaps, with cheekpieces applied for the first time. Colonel Lesley has been successful over this C&D previously, and is another to note on his second start for the Richard Hawker team.

Anthony Honeyball's JUGGERNAUT took a hit for his Stratford win but he's open to progress and is taken to follow up back from a break.

BLUE TEMPUS hasn't shown much on the Flat this season, but he makes his hurdling debut in a moderate heat. Alan King has been amongst the winners of late too, so it would come as no great surprise were he to take the necessary step forward. Manyana Blue is another that arrives following a spell on the level and she's worth considering, while Return With Gold stands should prove best of the pair with previous hurdling experience, having finished a distant third at Hexham recently.

Alan King's BLUE TEMPUS can make a winning start to his hurdles career at the main expense of Manyana Blue.

BYZANTIUM was able to record a commanding success at Warwick last time out and, with the potential of more to come at this longer trip, he could defy a 9lb rise to follow up. Time To Bite hasn't been seen over hurdles for some time now, but he has been in fine form of late over fences and must enter calculations. Golden Echo was in contention when being brought down at Fontwell recently and the unexposed five-year-old could also have a say.

The most obvious answer is BYZANTIUM, who got his career firmly back on track with an emphatic handicap win three weeks ago.

STILETTO was far from fluent on his stable bow/seasonal return at Warwick recently but it will be interesting to see if his supporters return, with champion jockey Sean Bowen retaining the partnership. Sophie Leech's gelding lurks on an attractive mark and the reapplication of cheekpieces could prove a shrewd move. Privilege arrives on the back of a C&D second, his best effort for current connections, and he's feared most raised 2lb in the handicap. Ghost Jury and Prairie Queen are others to consider.

He's 0-15 over hurdles now but PRIVILEGE was nudged up only 2lb for his clear second over C&D four weeks ago and gets the nod.

Although winless since scoring at this venue in September 2022, ROMANOR has shown enough in recent months to suggest he's ready to strike. Runner-up efforts at Fontwell and Stratford last month prove that the veteran is in good heart and compensation could be on the cards. Limerick Leader bounced back to form when a narrow second over C&D 20 days ago and he is a feasible alternative, along with Dancingontheedge, who drops in trip.

This drop back in trip ought to help SLIEVEGAR (nap), who looked a likely winner until his stamina ebbed away over 3m1f last month.

Gateau De Miel ended a long losing run when on target over fences at Stratford a week ago and is able to compete from an unchanged mark back over the smaller obstacles. Spitalfield posted a better effort when runner-up at Worcester latest, though he remains 5lb higher than when last successful, and preference is for the less exposed KEEL STRAND. Paul Nicholls' charge won a novices event over these hurdles on his first outing after wind surgery and looks one to keep on the right side of now handicapping for the first time.

Having taken an immediate step forward after wind surgery to win here, KEEL STRAND looks fairly treated for his handicap debut.

ILLOGICAL LOGIC fell here last month when looking the likely winner. However, he made amends by making all over C&D on his latest start and Christian Williams' charge looks worth sticking with in his current frame of mind, despite a 7lb rise. A winner at Huntingdon in May, Ann D'arabie finished second over the same C&D when attempting to follow up next time. She can make her presence felt once more, as can Eightytwo Team, with the pair being closely matched.

The pick is RADHARC NA SLAINE, who kept on well for third behind Illogical Logic here last month and is 6lb better off today.
