Returning from a long layoff; a 2m bumper winner suited by cut, and his point form suggests more to offer over further hurdles. Point winner who had record of 312 in bumpers last season; interesting on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/4 +0%)A Pai De Nom |
7/4(+0%) | (1) A Pai De Nom 7/4, Improved when stepped up in trip on hurdle debut after a wind operation, winning a maiden hurdle here by 2 1/2l last time. This is his second run after the procedure; effective from 2m to 2m5f with give and could defy his penalty. Landed the odds on hurdle debut over C&D last month; big player again under a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (5/1 +9%)Tommy Pickles |
5/1(+9%) | (6) Tommy Pickles 5/1, Produced only a modest effort when well beaten in a 3m maiden at Ballycahane on sole start. Trainer in form and fitting a tongue-tie for the first time; a 3m point winner for whom 2m5f looks a suitable starting point under rules. Bought for £80,000 after an easy win in Irish point in January; in the mix on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (50/1 -79%)Border Gem |
50/1(-79%) | (8) Border Gem 50/1, Outpaced but ran to form on hurdle debut, probably needing the run when beaten 9l in a 2m maiden hurdle at Hereford last time. Showed promise in 2m bumpers on decent ground and could progress over hurdles, possibly over further. Down the field on hurdling debut at Hereford and needs improvement upped to this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (6/1 +14%)Noahsgreatrainbow |
6/1(+14%) | (3) Noahsgreatrainbow 6/1, Made too much use of the pace and showed greenness, failing to build on his debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Taunton last time. Returning from a long break; a 2m bumper winner suited by cut but yet to fire over hurdles. Bled from the nose when disappointing in both hurdle runs last season; had wind op since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (33/1 -65%)Thankyouandplease |
33/1(-65%) | (5) Thankyouandplease 33/1, Travelled well but found nothing for pressure up the hill, finishing 20l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell last time. Usually held up; difficult to recommend on recent evidence. 0-5 over hurdles and well held in handicap latest; has work to do on return for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (150/1 -50%)Pougie |
150/1(-50%) | (4) Pougie 150/1, Raced wide and was outpaced early, finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Exeter most recently. Acts with give but looks in need of a longer trip than 2m. Well held in three bumpers and tailed off in both hurdle runs (1m7f/2m) this spring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (18/1 -140%)Alidam |
18/1(-140%) | (7) Alidam 18/1, Ran to form when 3 1/4l third in a 4yo hurdle over 2m2f at Auteuil last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time; effective around 2 1/4m in France on soft ground, but more is required on his UK debut. Placed in three of his four hurdle runs in France; eac-way claims on British/stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A 6lb penalty might not be enough to stop the Dan Skelton-trained A PAI DE NOM, who recorded a comfortable success over C&D on his hurdling bow last month. The son of Passing Glance gets the vote ahead of Alidam, as the booking of Harry Cobden on the latter could be noteworthy. The returning Gentleman Toboot makes some appeal, as does Thankyouandplease.

Top of the list is Dan Skelton's A PAI DE NOM, who made a good start over hurdles with his comfortable win over C&D last month.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (10/3 +49%)The Hardest Geezer |
10/3(+49%) | (2) The Hardest Geezer 10/3, Ran to form off a stiff mark when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Ludlow last time; had been in good form beforehand; returning from a long layoff and probably has a bit more to come. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

There are a few to consider, but it might pay to side with CLOTILDA. Paul Nicholls' filly was just touched off in a competitive premier handicap at Cheltenham in April, and was perhaps in need of the run at Chepstow on her return to action recently. This represents an ease in class and, with Freddie Keighley claiming a valuable 8lb, she may well bounce back. Dual hurdles winner Public Enemy is interesting, as is top weight Spirits Bay.

The pick is SPIRITS BAY (nap), who is well handicapped on his best efforts last season and has an in-form claimer booked on his return.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/4 +21%)Bond Broker |
11/4(+21%) | (3) Bond Broker 11/4, Keen and went clear when making too much use of himself on chase debut but still ran to form when second, beaten 13l in a 2m3f handicap chase at Ffos Las. Likes to lead and can improve when settling in front. Did too much early on chase debut (2m3f), but this sharp 2m may prove ideal; has won fresh. |

22/1(-300%) | (4) Hystery Bere 22/1, Pulled up in a 3m handicap chase at Huntingdon last time; holds a small chance if bouncing back though may find this on the sharp side. Has won fresh, but a speed test like this may not be ideal for him now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (28/1 -40%)Universal Secret |
28/1(-40%) | (6) Universal Secret 28/1, Had every chance when finishing 7l third in a 2m5f handicap chase here on his most recent outing. Needs to find some improvement. Hard to make a case for from 14lb out of the weights. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BREAKING COVER came up short when bidding for a hat-trick last time out, but with race fitness on his side, he is expected to regain the winning thread. Anthony Honeyball's gelding remains open to improvement over fences too, and he could prove too strong for Lunar Discovery, who was fourth at Market Rasen earlier this month. Chasing debutant Quantock Hills is also noted.

The sharp 2m could prove ideal for BOND BROKER who did far too much early on his chase debut over 3f further at Ffos Las in May.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

KAYF DANCER has stepped forward with each run over hurdles with his third to The New Lion at Chepstow last October followed up with a wide-margin success at Exeter in March. Open to improvement on his handicap debut, the seven-year-old gets the vote at the main expense of King Of The Lake, who landed a hat-trick at Exeter when last seen and may well have more to offer. J J Moon completes the shortlist.

Preference is for KING OF THE LAKE, who is unbeaten in three runs since wind surgery and could continue on an upward curve this season.

17/2(+15%) | (8) Pachacuti 17/2, Well backed but out of form when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Newbury last time. Better over fences and looks a value selection on the balance of his form. Resumes on workable mark but he's hard to predict and is 1-10 over fences; down the list. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SHERBORNE returned from a break to fill the runner-up spot at Stratford and this may be the time to catch Joe Tizzard's gelding on his second run after wind surgery. Buckna proved to be mostly consistent in novice/maiden hurdles last season and the switch to fences offers him a chance to progress. Joe Cotton and Royal Jewel are others likely to be in the mix.

An open race in which JOE COTTON gets the vote ahead of chase debutants Super Sabre Sam and Castlefort.

Harry Fry won this prize 12 months ago with subsequent Champion Bumper sixth Idaho Sun and the Dorset handler may well have another smart prospect in the shape of ON THE BAYOU. An eight-length winner of a point-to-point back in April 2024, he was purchased for 140,000 pounds and is likely to play a prominent role in proceedings. Soldier Reeves and Idaho Fire both command plenty of respect for top connections, while Tally Ho Back is another to note.

Preference is for Paul Nicholls' new recruit IDAHO FIRE who has striking pedigree and was a promising second in his sole point in March.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK.
