Nahi, Art Market and Mission Command all make some appeal ahead of their respective debuts, but experience counts for plenty and it is KING OF LIGHT who shades preference. Having shaped with promise on his debut at Windsor in April, the Mehmas colt took a step forward when finishing third at York last month. That effort sets the form standard and any further improvement will make him tough to beat.

Karl Burke's son of Mehmas KING OF LIGHT holds the edge on form and with the prospect of better to come he edges the vote in a very open-looking maiden. Andrew Balding's Kingman filly Kassaya also has the benefit of experience and is next on the list ahead of newcomers Art Market, Mission Command and Nahi.

Chaldean's half-sister KASSAYA would probably have made a winning debut at Salisbury had she been that bit wiser.

Get Jiggy With It continues to knock on the door and she would be a deserved winner, while Keady Town, who will appreciate an ease in class, is another who looks set to go well. However, a chance can be taken on FINE GOLD. Tom Clover's gelding shaped with more promise than the finishing position suggests over 6f here on debut last month, after losing many lengths leaving the stalls. He'll be more streetwise this time and is taken to strike going up in trip.

MERCURY DAY showed plenty for Ralph Beckett at 2 yrs, beaten only by a subsequent Group 3 winner at Chelmsford on her final start, and she's preferred to the other form pick Get Jiggy With It, who's proving expensive to follow. Keady Town has improved in handicaps this year and is another to consider back in a maiden.

Keady Town and Get Jiggy With It have fair form but MERCURY DAY is preferred on her first run for a new stable.

HELLO COTAI was caught further back than ideal at Haydock nine days ago, so it was to his credit that he plugged on for fourth. Should he break on terms this time, Adam West's charge appears to hold solid claims now eased in class off an unchanged mark. Evelyn's Phoenix surprised a few when winning at odds of 28/1 over 7f at Redcar last time out and he makes obvious appeal upped in trip. Handicap debutant Tribal Chief is worth a market check too.

PERSIAN PHOENIX has stepped back up with each outing so far this campaign, finishing a creditable second at Hamilton 16 days ago. The return to 1m will hold no fears and she shades the vote in a competitive affair. Redcar-scorer Evelyn's Phoenix and handicap-debutant Tribal Chief head the dangers, whilst Bestie, in first-time cheekpieces, looks worth a crack at 1m.

Another step forward looks possible for EVELYN'S PHOENIX (nap) who swooped late on to win his handicap debut over 7f at Redcar.

Inspired Knowhow showed a likeable attitude when getting up in the shadows of the post over 5f at Windsor last time and this in-form gelding is likely to offer another bold bid, but he may struggle to defy a 5lb rise in the ratings. Therefore, PHOENIX STAR, who finished a little over two lengths behind Marco Botti's charge on that occasion, can reverse the form on these revised terms, while High Opinion should also be thereabouts.

INSPIRED KNOWHOW fully clicked when an impressive winner at Windsor last time and there's the hope for better still, so he's preferred to the in-form Showalong, who was unlucky last time. High Opinion should also give his running.

Zargun and Phoenix Star can go well but NEVER THIS WAY shaped nicely at Beverley last month and now drops in class.

A host of in-form rivals line up for this contest, with a tentative nod in the direction of MARBUZET, who was unlucky to be touched off over 2m at Catterick last time. Tim Easterby's runner has been raised just 1lb for for that neck defeat, which may not be enough to stop him from getting back to winning ways. Swinging London shaped as if this extra yardage would suit when beaten just half a length over 1m4f at Pontefract, while Corsican Caper should also be in the shake-up.

CORSICAN CAPER is at the top of his game and would likely have recorded his fifth success of the year but for a sluggish start at Leicester earlier this week. He can make amends here. Marbuzet and Liberated Lad should also go well.

Tim Easterby's MARBUZET usually gives his running in staying handicaps and he arrives here on the back of a near-miss at Catterick.

Having been raised 12lb in the ratings after his hat-trick of wins this term, the progressive GREAT BLASKET can continue his winning thread. Gina Mangan's claim can help to negate the latest 3lb rise after his short-head success over 1m at Newmarket last month. First Officer should also be on the scene with a drop in trip likely to suit, while Aerion Power finished fourth in last year's Royal Hunt Cup off the same mark and he is also worthy of respect.

GREAT BLASKET is on a roll and a 3 lb rise for his latest victory at Newmarket doesn't look sufficient to prevent him from extending his successful spree to four. First Officer has winning form here and could emerge as the main danger, with Farhh To Shy and Cruyff Turn appealing as the pick of the remainder for minor honours.

The strong-travelling Farhh To Shy can go well but BRUNCH returns with his yard going well and he may exploit his reduced mark.

ARDBRACCAN won over C&D in April and was unlucky when third here over further last month following the combination of a slow start along with the lack of a clear run when required. She is likely to be coming with a late charge and may overhaul recent winner Coolree if the race falls her way. Amy Murphy's gelding looks all set for another big run off 3lb higher, leaving The Spotlight Kid to follow them home in third.

THE SPOTLIGHT KID gets the verdict after a couple of creditable runs here this term. He's clearly on a mark he can capitalise from and both his wins have come under Cieren Fallon. Helter Skelter shaped well again in a deeper contest at York last weekend and is feared most ahead of Beverley-winner Coolree.

Helter Skelter is threatening better but ROGUE SOLDIER may have his measure over this trip.

Soi Dao won a Class Six here over C&D last month and has to be considered, but she is up against slightly better opposition here and races off 3lb higher which may stop her doubling up. James Fanshawe has his string running to form suggesting Brighton fourth Bernadine could also go well, but WAR CHANT could have the edge. Third and beaten less than a length on his first start since last September, any improvement could see him winning for the fifth time.

BEYLERBEYI chased home an unexposed one probably destined for better things at Yarmouth on Monday and has every chance from the same mark if backing that performance up. Soi Dao has returned to turf in top form and has a good shout again. War Chant is another to consider.

The most solid options appear to be recent C&D winner SOI DAO ahead of this week's Yarmouth runner-up Beylerbeyi
Ths is the racecard key.
