SIDE DEAL displayed plenty of promise when runner-up on his racecourse bow at York and the winner of that contest was second in Listed company last week. With that in mind, he could prove hard to beat with the benefit of the experience under his belt. High Approval cost 400,000 euros at a breeze-up sale last month so has to be noted on his debut. Reciprocated is another expensive purchase who merits a place on the shortlist.

The form pick is SIDE DEAL, while Silent Applause should improve. Reciprocated and High Approval are interesting newcomers.

ZELAINA's price increased from 82,000 pounds as a yearling to 650,000 pounds at a breeze-up sale in April. The daughter of Mehmas is a half-sister to the Group 2-placed juvenile Arctician and it would be no surprise to see her play a leading role. Secret Oath is out of a mare who was a short-head second in the Albany and she cost Godolphin 550,000 euros. Novelette and Sakura Spirit are just two other noteworthy newcomers.

The most interesting contenders are ZELAINA, Secret Oath, Novelette and Sakura Spirit in that order of preference.

MONSIEUR PATAT appeared to have plenty in hand when winning at Windsor last week and the eight-year-old could prove hard to beat once again, despite a 4lb penalty. Thunderous Love failed to fire when seeking a hat-trick at Salisbury, but should not be written off in a race of this nature. The rest all have questions to answer, but Waistcoat is the pick of them.

Monsieur Patat is respected under a penalty but TOPTIME may well be able to get his own way in front and is preferred.

BINTSHUAA showed a lot more when making the frame on her handicap debut at Kempton and could have plenty of improvement in her. The daughter of Kodiac makes only her second start for the David Menuisier yard and she looks the way to go. Dream Illusion got off the mark at Wolverhampton and attempts to transfer that form to turf. Soul Dance warrants a market check on her first start in a handicap.

Handicap debutante SOUL DANCE (nap) is bred to do better still and looks interesting off her opening mark. Bintshuaa is second pick.

BOYFRIEND attempted to make every yard of the running when just going down by a head at Newbury and that might prove to be the strongest piece of form on offer. Richard Hannon's colt should have more to come and can gain his second career triumph. Thyer sported first-time cheekpieces when taking the silver medal home over C&D and has to be respected, despite being 2lb higher. Madame De Sevigne looks best of the rest.

Lightly raced THYER was a good second over C&D last month and is taken to go one better. Boyfriend is feared most.

Runner-up on each of his three starts as a two-year-old, RIDE THE THUNDER looks just the type to improve for going up in distance and he can break the maiden on his comeback. Placed over further when last seen at Southwell in November, Padesha is of interest on his return, while newcomer Mukhtalif must be monitored for market support as a well-bred son of Sea The Stars.

This may prove a successful reappearance for RIDE THE THUNDER, who's the form pick, but serious rivals include Eternal Force.

Back to form with a comfortable success at Beverley in what was only his third go at this sort of distance, DAWN OF LIBERATION is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming off 4lb higher. Beach Point has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his second over C&D in April, while Milteye has the potential to improve for going up in trip as he makes his third start for the Harriet Bethell team.

Recent winner Dawn Of Liberation had endured a long losing sequence and EEETEE (nap) is selected to end his.
Ths is the racecard key.
