Now that the penny has dropped for MANY A YEAR after a taking success at Hamilton last time out, there is likely to be more improvement forthcoming from the five-year-old and he can follow up off just 2lb higher. Only once outside the first three in her last four starts, Bama Lama is entitled to be thereabouts along with Diamondsinthesand, who was caught a bit too far back before staying on for second at Ffos Las in August.

MANY A YEAR was well backed when taking advantage of his reduced mark at Hamilton and remains potentially well treated up only 2 lb. Bama Lama continues in good heart and rates the main threat ahead of Diamondsinthesand, who handles the mud well.

Judged on their general consistency in 2024, BAMA LAMA and Cubanista look the most solid options, preferred in that order.

A highly encouraging debut at Windsor when towards the rear for much of the contest, SIXTYGEESBABY did well to run on for fourth late in the piece. Gelded since that effort, he may be able to get off the mark. Dropping back in trip looks like a good move for Arctic Voyage after racing keenly when third on debut at Newbury, while Star Chorus looks to be the pick of the newcomers for leading connections.

DOUBLE RUSH stepped up on his debut run when fourth in a hot race at Haydock a month ago and with further progress likely, he's very much the one to beat. Several of these are open to improvement though, notably Arctic Voyage and Carbine Harvester back at 6f.

The vote goes to ARCTIC VOYAGE, whose Newbury effort suggests this drop in trip will suit. Double Rush is second choice.

Runner-up on each of her last four starts, PIQUE' always seems to do her best work late in races and stepping up in trip could be just what is needed for the daughter of Nathaniel. Jack Doughty's 5lb claim is another plus, and it may be that Dancingwithmyself gives her the most to think about, having scored on two of her last three outings. Divine Presence is another with the potential to improve trying 1m6f for the first time.

The way PIQUE' stuck to her task at Yarmouth 3 weeks ago strongly suggests there's more to come as her stamina is drawn out further here, so she's the most appealing option. Dancingwithmyself and Miss Alpilles were both unsuited by being held up in steadily-run races last time and they could be the main dangers.

All six runners have something to recommend them but the new trip should be of great benefit to SEEK AND DESTROY and she's preferred.

Hot Dancer sets the standard having filled second place on both previous starts, but he could be vulnerable once again. With that in mind, preference is for HOLBORN, who cost 200,000 dollars as a yearling and is from the family of the top-class Minding. Sea Scout and Love Beach are other noteworthy newcomers, while it is far too soon to be writing off Royal Officer.

Expensive breeze-up purchase ROYAL OFFICER ran in a strong maiden at Newmarket last time so is worth another chance to confirm debut promise back from a break. Holborn is a newcomer who makes plenty of appeal on paper so may emerge as the biggest threat ahead of Hot Dancer.

The form standard isn't daunting. HOLBORN and Sea Scout are particularly interesting types among the newcomers.

Lazieelunch has to be of interest having won his last three starts but a 5lb rise for the most recent of those wins is a concern. As a result, the vote goes to GENTLE WARRIOR, who put in a career best when second on his nursery debut at Redcar last month and may improve again for this further step up in trip. Chelsea Embankment edges out Manila Thriller to be best of the rest.

GENTLE WARRIOR showed more than in his qualifying runs when runner-up on nursery debut a fortnight ago and with this step up in trip likely to suit given his pedigree, he could be the answer in receipt of lumps of weight from Lazieelunch, who seeks a 4-timer.

The solid option is CHELSEA EMBANKMENT despite him being a six-race maiden. He coped well with the soft ground last time at Sandown.

Having found only a progressive rival too strong at Newmarket last month, compensation could be on the cards for PRESSURE'S ON. Ed Dunlop's three-year-old makes plenty of appeal racing off an unchanged mark and he edges the verdict over C&D winner Ardbraccan. The daughter of Lawman arrives on the back of some creditable efforts in defeat and another good account is forecast. Handicap debutant Native Souvenir is also worth a second look.

Following a solid third at Haydock on his penultimate start, MR SWIVELL shaped as if still in good form when filling the same spot over further on his most recent start at Chester 18 days ago. A good test at this trip looks ideal for James Ferguson's colt and he earns the vote ahead of Pressure's On, who ran his best race since the spring when second at Newmarket 13 days ago. Native Souvenir and Ardbraccan are others in the mix, with Inversion another to keep an eye on.

The suggestion is PRESSURE'S ON, ahead of Desperate Dan in quite an open contest. A few others are interesting.

Having justified favouritism at Sandown last month, Tipsy Tiger must enter calculations racing off just 3lb higher in the ratings. The Postponed gelding isn't taken lightly, but BILLIEGEE may be worth chancing dropping in distance. The James Ferguson-trained filly appeared to find 1m4f on softer ground stretching her stamina when weakening into sixth at Newbury 19 days ago and she is fancied to resume her progress. Amancio completes the shortlist.

TIPSY TIGER is going through a good spell and can get the better of Amancio once again despite a 2 lb swing in the weights. Steel Tiger is a potential improver now switched to handicaps after a break/gelding operation and is another to consider.

This may concern TIPSY TIGER and Amancio who finished first and second under similar conditions at Sandown.
Ths is the racecard key.
