Fox Avatar (winner) and Capla Lazarus (second) met at Beverley last month and while the latter could get closer in receipt of 7lb having missed the break that day, slower ground in an unknown. That certainly won't be the case for Love Dynasty, who impressed in the mud at Newmarket last November and must be respected, for all that the layoff is a slight concern. Ripon winner Sir Edward Lear could also go well, but a chance is taken on debutant SUENO. Pedigree suggests the 400,000gns daughter of Camelot should handle conditions and she may well continue her yard's fine run of form.

LOVE DYNASTY has been absent since making a winning debut at Newmarket (7f) 11 months ago, yet she looked something out of the ordinary on that occasion and, open to significant improvement, she can make light of an absence with conditions holding no fears. Sueno is a very appealing newcomer from the Gosden stable and she commands respect. Beverley scorer Fox Avatar and Turn Up The Heat may emerge next best.

This looks all about LOVE DYNASTY if she is in the sort of form that saw her win at Newmarket last November. She needs a market check.

FOUR ADAAY might have been too far back when finishing third at Windsor recently, but that was still a positive effort and she was eased 1lb for her troubles. Rod Millman's mare has less to prove on the ground than many, and that could prove vital as she looks to regain the winning sequence. Faro De San Juan has found some form of late and he is expected to be in the shake-up, while Last Outlaw warrants a market check following a solid handicap debut at Windsor.

Previous course winner KNICKS produced easily his best effort since the spring when a fast-finishing third at Ayr 23 days ago and, with the drop back in trip/underfoot conditions holding no fears, he could be the answer to this tricky puzzle. Huddle Up and Abate head up the dangers.

Not a race to be dogmatic about but the way mud-loving KNICKS appeared to come back to form last time makes him of strong interest.

WORLD OF DARCY shrugged off a double penalty to complete his hat-trick at Brighton last week and although John Ryan's three-year-old is again saddled with a 12lb penalty, he can continue the winning run. Cypriot Diaspora was never really involved at Leicester, but a drop in class ought to aid her chance. Hallowed Time, who should relish testing ground conditions, might not be far away either.

WORLD OF DARCY has highlighted just how effective he is with plenty of give underfoot in rattling off a quick-fire hat-trick this month and he could well be up to completing the 4-timer in his present groove. Cypriot Diaspora has steadily eased in the weights in recent months and she needs considering also with conditions in her favour. McCauley's Tavern, on return/debut for Mick Appleby also commands a second look.

The thriving World Of Darcy is of obvious interest but BAY BREEZE may be able to exploit his lowly mark.

Alpine Stroll burned the fingers of favourite-backers when turning over an odds-on shot at Yarmouth last week. His penalty means he competes from a mark 1lb higher than his revised rating, though, so preference is for THRILLING DREAM, who has been freshened up since completing a quickfire Leicester brace in the height of summer. His 95-rated half-brother has won on soft, and there is the potential for more improvement now he goes further. Arcon and Hardy Bloke shouldn't be far way, and Expressionless is better than he showed at Redcar.

In a wide-open race, it could just be worth siding with ALPINE STROLL. He arrives on the back of a battling success over shorter at Yarmouth 9 days ago and with a solid course record to call upon, he makes appeal under a penalty. Thrilling Dream for Ed Dunlop is another of interest now upped in trip in search of the hat-trick. Hardy Bloke with a visor enlisted and Arcon are just a couple of others to consider.

Cases can be made for the likes of Thrilling Dream, Havaila and Ebony Maw but ALPINE STROLL looks the safest option.

Cresta Cat burst back into life to spring a surprise at Brighton last week, a performance attributed to the rain-affected conditions. He could certainly prove it was no fluke but a safer option appears to be KEHLANI, who responded well to blinkers to take third behind a subsequent dual winner at Haydock. Ballsbridge remains a maiden but usually runs his race, while San Francisco Bay took a step back in the right direction when upped to this distance at Bath, finishing a couple of lengths ahead of Fougere.

A chance is taken on LHEBAYEB who shaped quite well when finishing third after meeting trouble at Windsor last week and has dropped to 4 lb below the mark she defied last autumn. Ballsbridge has been knocking on the door over 1m lately and will be threat if seeing it out back up in trip. The shortlist is completed by San Francisco Bay who was runner-up on his first attempt over this trip at Bath earlier in the month.

Most of the field have realistic each-way claims, with LHEBAYEB, Martin Spirit and Cresta Cat top of the list.

TEMPER TRAP has hit a rich vein of form of late and stepping up just beyond a mile may eke out further improvement as he looks to land the hat-trick on the back of comfortable successes over 7f at Leicester and Redcar. A winner of two of her last four starts, Daisy Roots must enter calculations, along with Johnjay and Cuban Fiesta, who has made the frame twice since joining new connections.

TEMPER TRAP looks good for a hat-trick in his current rich vein of form. Johnjay returned from a break with a decent fourth at Bath at the start of this month and is second choice ahead of Brian Ellison's Pearl Sands, who goes well in the mud.

With the aid of almost a career-low mark initially, TEMPER TRAP (nap) has staged a serious resurgence recently and can win again.

A half-brother to Cambridgeshire winner Majestic Dawn, who won on heavy ground, THE BOBSTER may well relish these conditions and he remains just 2lb higher than for his Newcastle success over this distance on his penultimate start. A determined scorer at Chelmsford last time out, First Encounter has had a busy season but is likely to be thereabouts again. The unexposed Sense Of Reason is also respected.

Having opened his account at Newcastle last month, THE BOBSTER shaped as if still in good form when fifth at Wolverhampton 3 weeks ago, a sluggish start not helping matters. Still unexposed at this sort of trip, he earns the vote ahead of recent Chelmsford winner First Encounter. Zenato completes the shortlist.

The most solid option in this weak race is surely FIRST ENCOUNTER. The return of blinkers and a step up in trip may help Imola.
Ths is the racecard key.
