18:10 Pontefract (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although Daydreama (third) had the measure of SHOWTOWN (eighth) at Carlisle on their respective debuts, Kevin Ryan's gelding could reverse that form en route to victory. The market suggested much better was expected from the son of Showcasing and he could take a step forward from a good draw. The former is by no means dismissed, however, while others to note include Jack Rabbit Slims and newcomer Twilight Serenade.

Jack Rabbit Slims sets the standard but DAYDREAMA produced a likeable effort when third on debut and gets the nod.

18:45 Pontefract (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A confident vote goes to the David O'Meara-trained WALSINGHAM, who returned from 242 days on the sidelines to open his account over C&D recently. The gelded son of Lope De Vega must shoulder a 5lb penalty but given that he remains well treated on his previous Irish exploits, it should be no barrier to further success. Style Of Life merits the utmost respect as she goes in search of a hat-trick, while Theme Park is no back number now afforded an ease in class.

Style Of Life comes here in career-best form but THEME PARK is worth siding with, dropped slightly in class from a tempting mark.

19:20 Pontefract (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Just half a length separated Little Ted (winner) and RAVISHING BEAUTY (second) at Leicester last month. The latter has yet to score from 12 attempts but she's 2lb better off with that rival now and looks to have an excellent chance of going one place better. Space Raider's mark continues to fall and perhaps returning to the mile will spark an improved performance.

A chance is taken that BACK FROM DUBAI leaves his latest Beverley effort behind him. His earlier AW win represents strong form.

KODIAC THRILLER has held his form well since he had Squealer back in third when he won at Thirsk in May and he could be the answer to this tricky contest. The latter has also flourished since that encounter and should be capable of another bold showing, despite going up 4lb for winning at York last month. Twilight Jet, a dual Group 3 winner in his heyday, lurks on a dangerous mark and is another notable option after a good second at Epsom most recently.

None are ruled out but SQUEALER (nap), who won a quality handicap at York last time, can go back-to-back.

20:25 Pontefract (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KITSUNE POWER is effective on a stiff course and is a notable contender off 2lb lower than his last winning mark. A close second over C&D off the same rating on his penultimate start, the Tim Easterby-trained six-year-old has plenty in his favour. Dandy's Angel, who won over 1m2f at Beverley 13 days ago, is feared the most off just 2lb higher. Paper Doll, who is 1lb well-in, is the least exposed and is dangerous to underestimate.

A reversion to prominent tactics can reap reward for IT'S A LOVE THING, who ran well from the rear in a big field at York last time.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
