14:12 Pontefract (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A more aggressive ride saw RAULIN make all over C&D three weeks ago and there is every chance that a similar outcome could occur. A 2lb rise for the son of Mehmas looks workable and he edges the vote over Dawn Of Liberation. The six-year-old arrives on the back of a close-up third at Ayr and another bold showing is forecast, while Love Talk is likely to prove more competitive reverting to handicap company.

The 3yo RAULIN and the consistent Dawn Of Liberation fought out the finish over C&D three weeks ago and Raulin can win again.

14:42 Pontefract (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The market is likely to prove informative in this contest full of newcomers, with a tentative vote going to MR SEAGULL. Hugo Palmer's colt is a half-brother to five winners, most notably the Group-placed Ekhtiyaar, and he could take plenty of stopping if sharing a similar level of ability. Delinquent should comfortably get the trip judged on his pedigree and he's feared most, ahead of Great Success.

There's plenty of potential in the pedigree of MR SEAGULL and he earns the vote ahead of Great Success.

15:12 Pontefract (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having relished a drop in class when scoring at Ripon earlier this month, Precious Spartan merits respect in his current vein of form. However, this rise in class could leave Patrick Neville's charge vulnerable and preference is for SAXONIA. The son of Saxon Warrior arrives on the back of a good second on the all-weather and, racing off an unchanged mark, he makes grand appeal reverting to turf. Zarathos is also worth a second look.

Precious Spartan is respected but this could go to fellow 3yo SAXONIA, who won at Newmarket in June and was second on AW last time.

15:42 Pontefract (Class 1) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Richard Fahey and Oisin Orr teamed up to win this last season and they are back for more with Stormy Impact, a winner at Wolverhampton last month. She can go well, but Irish raider NO ALIBI gets the nod after winning her last two at Cork and Limerick. She might need to be produced late, but she looks capable of taking the step up in class in her stride. Rhyme Dust is another to bear in mind.

Stormy Impact is respected but preference is for the unexposed Irish challenger NO ALIBI, who is bred to be a force at this level.

DAN TUCKER was a beaten favourite at Goodwood last month, but that was on heavy ground and both his wins have been on a quicker surface including a C&D win off 4lb lower two starts ago. Ventura Express has won here four times and is another to consider.

Dan Tucker isn't fully exposed at 5f but VENTURA EXPRESS has conditions to suit and can register another C&D success.

The in-form Cosmic Soul won a weaker race at Catterick last month and a 5lb higher mark demands more of him, while Carlton has also been in good heart but needs everything to go his way off top-weight. It could be worth siding with KENTUCKY RIVER, whose weight-for-age allowance gives him a potential advantage on these terms. Unexposed as a stayer, Ollie Sangster's three-year-old looks the way to go.

Having bumped into a progressive fellow 3yo when a clear second at Doncaster last time, KENTUCKY RIVER gets the nod.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The four last-time-out winners are the ones to focus on. THUNDEROUS LOVE is forwarded as the pick of the bunch, with a 4lb rise for her dominant Salisbury triumph noted as a fair assessment. Lady Wingalong can figure if dropping back down to 6f doesn't catch her out, while the less-exposed Vibrant Pearl debuts in a handicap on a workable mark. Carlton And Co is an infrequent winner but is still on a feasible rating despite a 4lb rise for her Redcar win.

The prolific THUNDEROUS LOVE (nap) keeps defying the handicapper and can post her sixth win of the season. Vibrant Pearl is feared.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
