Seraph Gabriel took a step forward from his debut effort at Newbury to score over 7f at Lingfield in July and he should mount a serious challenge, despite a 6lb penalty. However, THANKS ANGEL looks the way to go. The Dark Angel filly shaped with plenty of promise to make the frame on debut at Doncaster and, with any amount of improvement to come, she looks the one to beat. Arabian Angel is another to consider.

SERAPH GABRIEL concedes weight all-round on the back of success at Lingfield in July yet his strength at the finish that day was quite taking, so he could be up to the task with the prospect of more to come. Arabian Angel is another who remains with potential and is feared, along with Haydock eyecatcher Mystical Storm and Thanks Angel, who made a bright start herself at Doncaster 3 weeks ago.

Top of the list is ARABIAN ANGEL, who has leading claims on his two runner-up efforts and is open to progress at this new trip.

Calibos progressed from his debut effort to finish third on heavy ground at Chester last month and he might put that experience to good use in this contest. That said, a chance can be taken on newcomer GOLBORNE, who is related to plenty of winners and represents the in-form Julie Camacho stable. The son of Dutch Art might be able to make an instant impression, while any market confidence behind Very Muddy Waters should be noted too.

The weaker of the two divisions with BINHAREER fancied to take a step forward from his midfield effort on debut at Leicester 25 days ago. Legend Forever offered something to work on himself when filling the same spot on his respective debut at Ayr recently and he's a threat. Market confidence behind newcomers, Stay Around, Golborne and Whatsgoingonmarvin would also need to be viewed positively.

Legend Forever is repected but BINHAREER shaped with significant promise at Leicester last month and might be the answer.

DANDY'S ANGEL struck in commanding style over 1m4f at Hamilton on her most recent outing and carries a 4lb penalty for that triumph. John Wainwright's seven-year-old is in brilliant form and should have no issues with the drop in trip to complete the hat-trick. Jesmond Dawn was third in this grade at Musselburgh last time and is an interesting contender on his first attempt at this trip, while Casilli is next best.

LZAZ caught the eye in his final qualifying run and with this trip sure to suit now handicapping, he may well find the necessary improvement required for his leading stable. Solar Bentley and hat-trick seeking mare Dandy's Angel are a couple of potential threats.

Plenty have claims but the vote goes to the unexposed 3yo LZAZ, who looks interesting upped to 1m2f on handicap debut,

A highly-creditable third in the Mill Reef and second in the July Stakes earlier in the season, BILLBOARD STAR can take advantage of a drop in grade as he looks to land this valuable Listed affair. An eye-catcher when staying on well for second from a difficult position at Ayr last time out, Uncle Don is likely to appreciate going back up in distance, while Francisco's Piece is another to note after a narrow reversal at Haydock. Educating Rita and Northern Ticker are just two others to make the shortlist.

BILLBOARD STAR is the one to beat back down in class having acquitted himself well in pattern company on 3 of his last 4 starts. Uncle Don is most progressive so is feared most ahead of Francisco's Piece, who took his form to another level on nursery bow when going close off 97 at Haydock last week.

Billboard Star is respected but the vote goes to UNCLE DON, who was a big eyecatcher when second in a Listed race at Ayr last time.

GREY'S MONUMENT can land a first Pattern success since the Hyde Stakes at Kempton in December last year. A taking winner from the front at Ascot last time out, the four-year-old should enjoy these conditions and it may be the capable handicapper Northern Express that gives him the most to think about on the step back up in trip. Ramazan could be better suited by bigger fields, but he remains a gelding with plenty of ability.

GREY'S MONUMENT returned from a 10-week break better than ever when running out a ready winner of a 13-runner handicap at Ascot (7f) 4 weeks ago and, arriving here fresh for this time of year, he looks to hold sound claims back up in class with a repeat. Northern Express and Ramazan can emerge as the chief threats.

Ralph Beckett's GREY'S MONUMENT took his form to a new level when scoring in good style at Ascot last month and gets the nod.

A comfortable winner over C&D last time out, when seeing off the reopposing Empire Of Light (second) and Zozimus (third), NAEPOINT sets the standard and a 5lb rise could prove lenient. A consistent sort this year, Zapphire is better than what she showed at Leopardstown last time out and is a key player. Cruyff Turn, who remains 14lb lower than his career-high mark, is another to note following a taking success over 7f at Thirsk last time out.

Having deservedly resumed winning ways on her penultimate start, ZAPPHIRE found the run of the race completely against her when down the field at Leopardstown 3 weeks ago. She's well worth another chance to prove her revised mark a workable one and earns the vote under her promising 7 lb claimer. Naepoint and Zozimus are others to consider, whilst Cruyff Turn remains well treated on old form and was successful at Thirsk 4 weeks ago.

Tim Easterby has won five of the last eight renewals and may well be able to strike again with recent Thirsk winner CRUYFF TURN (nap).

HAVEYOUMISSEDME was doing his best work in the closing stages when running out a comfortable winner over an extended 1m4f at Chester last month and, stepping back up in trip off a 4lb higher mark, he gets the vote to bring up the double. Another prominent showing is forecast from Expressionless, who wasn't seen to best effect when runner-up over 1m6f at Haydock in August. There is also plenty to like about Yosemite Gold's chances and he merits respect on his handicap debut.

EXPRESSIONLESS shaped as if still having another race in him this season when second at Haydock so is preferred to the consistent Gibside and the prolific The Crafty Mole.

A few with chances but Dylan Cunha's EXPRESSIONLESS is taken to bag a third 2024 win on the back of a good Haydock second last time.

ELEGANT ERIN impressed when scoring over 5f at Beverley last month and a 2lb rise might just underestimate her. Our Absent Friends (first) got the better of Albegone (fourth) when the pair met over this trip at Ripon a week ago, and the former can confirm his superiority over that rival while also emerging as the main danger to the selection off a 2lb higher mark.

CURIOUS ROVER will find this a lot easier than the Ayr Silver Cup he contested a fortnight ago and with the return to 5f no bad thing, either, he looks the answer. Elegant Erin arrives in top form so she's a danger, with Seantrabh one to consider at longer odds.

The class-dropping Curious Rover is high on the list but OUR ABSENT FRIENDS can continue his good spell since cheekpieces went on.
Ths is the racecard key.
