18:30 Ripon (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having filled the runner-up spot on both outings to date, compensation could be on the horizon for DUSKAURA. Archie Watson's filly appears to have been found a suitable opportunity to gain a breakthrough victory and she's preferred to Novelette. The daughter of Sioux Nation offered plenty of encouragement on her third-placed debut at Nottingham a fortnight ago and isn't taken lightly. Newcomer Zonnebloem is a potential fly in the ointment and market support would be interesting.

NOVELETTE bumped into a smart rival on Nottingham debut, and she's fancied to strike at the second attempt. Duskaura is next best.

19:00 Ripon (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Although friendless in the market, MODERN TIMES posted a respectable fourth on his stable bow in a competitive handicap at York recently. The switch to maiden company is likely to help Tim Easterby's four-year-old and he could be poised to shed his maiden tag. Pal Joey arrives on the back of a fine third at Doncaster and any further improvement is likely to see him in the thick of the action once more, along with El Madar.

MODERN TIMES had a few near misses for Iain Jardine and there were positives to take from last weekend's stable debut fourth at York.

19:30 Ripon (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having bounced back to form with a close-up second over 1m5f at Hamilton 13 days ago, Haptics must enter calculations in his current heart. However, a drop back in distance could leave the son of Camelot vulnerable to a speedier rival, with ODIN LEGACY edging the verdict. Richard Hannon's colt did little wrong on his latest runner-up effort over 1m2f at Lingfield and a third career victory could be imminent. The down-in-class Lord Protector is also of interest.

Given genuinely good-ground, a slight preference would be for HAPTICS who lost out narrowly in a close finish at Hamilton last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

My Mate Kev made his third handicap start a winning one at Newmarket last month and he holds an obvious chance, despite being 8lb higher. Mr Cool is respected after making the frame at Hamilton, but the vote goes to ON KEY. Julie Camacho's three-year-old finished just over two lengths clear of the third when filling the runner-up spot over C&D last time and he looks well placed to go one better.

Newmarket scorer MY MATE KEV (nap) remains open to further improvement and could well be capable of defying an 8lb rise in the weights.

SHIELAS WELL showed a lot more when only finding one too good at Nottingham earlier in the month and she was kindly dropped 1lb for that effort. If the daughter of Saxon Warrior can run to a similar level, she could be the one to beat. Jenubiyah has shown ability in her three starts in novice/maiden company and she needs to be monitored in the market on her handicap debut. French Haven is another to consider.

The extra yardage should (on pedigree) bring improvement for Jenubiyah and FRENCH HAVEN, with a marginal preference for the latter.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ART OF FOX got off the mark in good style at Chelmsford six days ago and he now has a 6lb penalty to carry. Provided the son of Mehmas transfers that form to turf, he will prove hard to beat. Azucena struck in a classified stakes at Leicester earlier in the month and is an interesting contender back in a handicap. Of the remainder, Ninety Nine makes the most appeal.

The one to side with is the recent Chelmsford scorer ART OF FOX, who shouldn't be unduly troubled by a 6lb penalty.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
