DOLLAR VALUE has gained 13 career victories under various codes including an easy win in this race last year. The selection can be temperamental at the start and gained an unlikely success from well off the pace in another claiming hurdle at Sligo last summer. So Des Flos held a rating of 130 over fences earlier this year but was soundly beaten when reverting to hurdles at Wexford last time, while Portarlington completed a handicap hat-trick (2 hurdles and a chase) off a lowly mark last year. War Correspondent, Allo Al Khawaneej and Must Meet Cecil are others to consider.

Last year's comfortable winner DOLLAR VALUE might be the answer after his encouraring return from a lengthy break.

Anna McGuinness has been seen to good effect on a number of mounts for Willie Mullins this season and could be on the mark again here aboard VICAR STREET. The Galileo gelding was sent off the 4/9 favourite when fourth on debut in a bumper at the Galway Festival last year and, while it is of some concern that he hasn't been seen since, this looks a good opportunity to open his account. Monroes Hollow finished just a head behind the selection but hasn't set the world alight since. Couldntmakeitup may prove the main threat having gone close in a Naas maiden hurdle, while Cooladdi was third in a Clonmel bumper last month.

The very well bred VICAR STREET was beaten at short-odds in a bumper on debut but he may be worth giving another chance to

NED IN THE PARK has been generally consistent both in bumpers and over hurdles and may get off the mark at the eighth attempt. The selection made the frame behind the odds-on Joueur Masque in a 22-runner maiden at Punchestown last month and a reproduction of that form may be good enough. Bhean Saibhre has plenty of experience over hurdles and filled the runner-up spot twice at Clonmel including behind Tassarolo in an 18-runner maiden last time. Hudson was placed on the Flat in France and made a promising debut over hurdles at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting.

HUDSON fell last time but ran with promise when well-backed for a hot Leopardstown maiden hurdle in December and this is weaker

ASTELIA showed promise on the Flat for Jessica Harrington including when second in a Curragh maiden and also filled the runner-up spot when switched to hurdles at Listowel last month. She was prominent throughout when beating all bar the odds-on La Note Verte and should benefit from that experience. Young Churchill has also been placed both on the Flat and over hurdles and rates a threat along with point-to-point winner Seeitoldya, who was a promising fourth over hurdles at Punchestown last time. Speedy Box and Fine Print are others to consider, while Tudorista and Lady Maxios are two newcomers to note in the market.

It might be worth siding with ASTELIA (nap). She shaped with real promise on her hurdles debut at Listowel and a repeat may suffice

A 100-rated horse on the Flat, the Bill Durkan-trained FAIRBANKS should be capable of progressing over jumps. Runner-up on his Irish debut at Down Royal in May, the five-year-old won his maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe later that month. Although well beaten back on the Flat at Royal Ascot last time, the son of Nathaniel was forced to race wide from his high draw. With his turn of foot likely to prove a potent weapon in this small field, he can resume his progress. Twice a winner in his native France, Kainsbourg opened his account in this country last time. Following that confidence booster, the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding should be involved. Yoradreamer and La Note Verte both warrant plenty of respect.

Paul Townend prefers LA NOTE VERTE and she may be able to follow up her Listowel win with underfoot conditions to suit (2-2 on good)

Following a highly encouraging reappearance at Kilbeggan last month, TORQUAY ROAD can record a second career success. Victorious on his stable debut for Cian Collins exactly a year ago, the six-year-old rather lost his way in subsequent starts. Now rated 16lb below his opening mark, the gelding has to be of considerable interest with Tiernan Power Roche taking off an additional 5lb. One slight concern is that the son of No Risk At All has often run his best race first time out after a break. Jerrari, who finished a place in front of the selection last time, looks the biggest threat. Listowel winner Patty O'Farrell is another with strong claims in a competitive affair.

An open race. JERRARI emerged from off the pace to threaten at Kilbeggan and there's a race in him off his current mark.

The Denise Foster-trained SMACKWATER JACK can follow up his recent win at Punchestown. Rated much higher at one stage in his career, the veteran showed that he still retained plenty of ability when staying on well to score at the Kildare track. Prior to that, the gelding had indicated that his turn was near when just denied at Gowran. As an in-form horse with plenty of back class, he looks very much the one to beat. A lightly-raced young gelding making his first start in handicap company, Parkgarve also has to be of interest. His runs in maidens suggest that he is worth a try over this extended trip. Small Town Hero is one to note on stable debut.

It could pay to chance handicap debutant PARKGARVE who is a half-brother to Slade Steel and he has shown a bit of ability.

A well contested finale in which two well-bred newcomers catch the eye. Given that both her half-brother and half-sister won their bumpers, the Charles Byrnes-trained RUN FOR MAHLER is of particular interest on her racecourse debut. Any market support, or indeed lack of, for the newcomer should be noted. The Willie Mullins-trained debutant Moon Mariner is also related to a previous bumper winner. While that latter horse proved a strong stayer, this stiff track shouldn't be too sharp for his half-sister here. Both Galileo Springs and Master Sydney have shown enough in their performances to date to suggest that they should once again play leading roles for their respective stables.

Willie Mullins has won this bumper three times in eight years and MOON MARINER is well related.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
