Island Bear only found one too good on his first outing at Haydock and could take a step forward. Labiche is an interesting newcomer who is related to a few winners, but he might improve as he steps up in distance and VICTORIOUS ONE gets the vote. Ralph Beckett's colt shaped with bundles of promise when occupying the runner-up berth over 6f at Goodwood and the son of Siyouni will relish this extra furlong.

330,000gns buy Lord Cloughan looks a newcomer to note but ISLAND BEAR and Victorious One have shown plenty of ability.

Street Life hasn't finished out of the frame in any of his last five starts, most recently taking the silver medal home at Wolverhampton, and he has to be considered. However, BLIND BEGGAR finished ninth in the Dash at Epsom earlier in the month and will appreciate this drop in grade. The seven-year-old lurks on an appealing rating and he could be the one to beat. Coup De Force is another to keep an eye on.

Blind Beggar can go well, especially if rain arrives, but this may set up for COUP DE FORCE and she can get off the mark for 2025.

Nifty progressed from her introduction when third here to justify odds-on favouritism in good style at Chelmsford and is one to watch out for. However, she has a penalty and is passed over in favour of WOJTEK, who ran green when filling the runner-up spot over C&D. With that experience under his belt, he could take a big leap forward to strike. Comic Hero would have learned a lot from his seventh on debut at Bath and isn't out of it either.

Nifty has had a C&D third and AW win but WOJTEK showed plenty here on his debut. John Barleycorn ran in a strong Newbury race.

Montpellier made it two wins from two starts when on target at Newbury last month. Both of those victories have come over 7f, though, and he will need to prove himself at this shorter trip. He still merits respect, but it is DARK THIRTY who shades preference. Second in a warm class 2 at York, he remains well handicapped from 1lb higher and is fancied to go one place better. Haydock scorer Kodi Lion can prove best of the remainder.

Montpellier remains of interest but DARK THIRTY isn't an easy horse to pass on his day and he could be the answer.

ASMEN WARRIOR has shown plenty of ability across his five career starts and this looks an excellent opportunity to break the maiden tag. A close-up fourth in a 0-95 handicap at York, dropping back into maiden company should aid his cause and first-time cheekpieces are another potential source of improvement. Wootton Bassett filly Requisite hasn't been seen since October but she will appreciate a step up in trip and must enter calculations, despite the absence. Only One Blue is also noted.

Headgear has now been enlisted for him but the solid option on other counts is ASMEN WARRIOR. Lancashire is feared most.

Tremorgio wasn't disgraced when finishing third in a decent class 2 novice at Southwell in April and must enter calculations on his handicap bow. However, PATSY SNUGFIT is slightly more compelling after shaping better than her fourth over 1m2f here suggests, and she may take some stopping if dictating the pace over this distance. Cape Breton might fare best of the remainder.

This looks like a marked change in surface for soft-ground and AW winner TREMORGIO, who's also had 80 days off, but he gets the vote.

Having made a mockery of her opening mark at Nottingham three weeks ago, SOUL DANCE rates as one to follow. Although the assessor has reacted with a 10lb hike, Andrew Balding's filly looks capable of better. The biggest threat could emerge from the down-in-class Invincible Duke, who has posted two creditable efforts in defeat since entering handicap company. Too Don Juan should appreciate this return to a mile.

There's been a 10lb rise since SOUL DANCE (nap) stamped her authority on a race at Nottingham but she's been a striking improver.
Ths is the racecard key.
