12:50 Sedgefield (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having scored at Newcastle recently, National Question warrants respect in his follow-up bid. However, the five-year-old is effectively 9lb higher without Charlie Maggs' claim, so TANKING ALONG may prove to be better treated. A 2lb nudge up the ratings for his close-up second at Perth looks workable and he can go one better. Market support for the returning Away She Goes would bring her into the reckoning.

Preference is for TANKING ALONG (nap), who returned to hurdling after a break with a close second at Perth last month.

13:24 Sedgefield (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LUNAR ORBIT returned to form with a respectable third at Fontwell and a subsequent wind procedure could prove fruitful. Warren Greatrex's juvenile finished a good second on his hurdles bow over C&D in September and a repeat of that performance may prove sufficient. Stardrop arrives on the back of a below-par sixth at Warwick, but would prove a live threat if back to his best. Genbu completes the shortlist.

Judged on a combination of Flat and hurdles form, the strongest contenders are LUNAR ORBIT and Stardrop.

13:59 Sedgefield (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

In what turned out to be an eventful contest at Ludlow, FORMEL PARK looked to hold every chance when falling at the second-last. The five-year-old appeared to be relishing the larger obstacles until that mishap and a breakthrough victory may be on the cards. Platenium in open to improvement now returning to fences and, off a lower chase mark, must enter calculations. Independent Jimmy isn't easily dismissed either.

Barring mishap, FORMEL PARK may atone for the late exit that prevented a likely success at Ludlow.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Girl Of Gold produced a better effort to take the silver medal home at Warwick and is noted, but BLUE TOPAZ struck on her second bumper start at this venue last month and now makes her first appearance over timber. This looks a good opportunity and Fergal O'Brien's mare could be the one to beat. Beep Beep Becky finished second between the flags in Ireland and needs to be monitored in the market.

Course bumper winner BLUE TOPAZ might be the answer with the benefit of a recent run under her belt.

15:09 Sedgefield (Class 5) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Upfordebate failed to complete the hat-trick when pulled up at Hexham last month, but it wouldn't be the biggest surprise if he could bounce back. Even so, SKYHILL looks the way to go. Alison Hamilton's veteran is a three-time course winner, including in this race back in 2019. He performs well fresh and can make a successful return to action off a workable rating. Ballylinch is another to watch out for.

It's been all or nothing so far over fences with UPFORDEBATE but he's a strong contender off this mark if able to show his form.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Lillistar finished a respectable third at Wetherby on her most recent start and is of interest off an unchanged rating. Balally Park remains on an appealing mark and is considered, but DEVON SKIES gets the nod. Philip Kirby's mare benefited from a change of tactics when bolting up at this course last week and, if in anything like that form, she will prove a tough nut to crack.

A few with chances but the suggestion is BALALLY PARK who looks a good bet to give his running.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing.
