ALWAYS WAVING stepped forward from her Wolverhampton return when scoring over C&D last month and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if Andrew Balding's filly had plenty more to offer in handicap company. Fleeting Moment was no match for a comfortable winner here last time but is open to improvement, while Nala The Lioness is likely to benefit from first-time cheekpieces.

CARAMAY has built up a solid record since the cheekpieces went on, posting her best effort yet when winning 7-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 7 days ago. Well proven at this sort of trip, she looks sure to give another good account and earns the vote. Always Waving, on handicap debut, and Kinetic, returned to this sphere, are others to consider in a competitive race of its type.

There should be more to come from Fleeting Moment but EVER HOPEFULL has been in good form for her new yard and gets the vote.

HORUS returned from a break to win on his first run for Michael Keady at Lingfield a fortnight ago and remains open to further improvement on the all-weather, despite being raised 6lb. Blue Lakota was denied a hat-trick at Newcastle when not getting a clear run at a crucial point, while another capable of a decent showing in this sprint handicap is Psychodrama.

BLUE LAKOTA was unlucky not to finish closer in his bid to land the hat-trick when third at Newcastle 17 days ago, denied a run over 1f out before running on late. He's very much of interest again and shades the vote ahead of Triple Charged, who similarly caught the eye when a couple of placings behind the selection latest. Easy Lingfield scorer Horus is another to consider.

Horus has more to come but TRIPLE CHARGED may be able to reverse Newcastle placings with Blue Lakota.

Midnight City was just denied a first career success here over 6f last month and the extra furlong appears likely to benefit the son of Acclamation. That said, he would require a career best to stop INVITED. The pick of his form saw him finish runner-up to the smart Ancient Truth at Newmarket and a change of scenery, along with a gelding operation, might see him prove too strong for the opposition. Newcomer Cavolo Nero completes the shortlist.

The pick of INVITED's 2-y-o form gives him obvious claims now starting out for his new yard having been gelded and he's fancied to make a bold bid returning from 5 months off. Midnight City has knocked on the door of late and he's a threat, with newcomer Cavolo Nero another to note if betting vibes are positive.

Not a lot of depth to this and despite being unable to capitalise on some respectable efforts, INVITED is taken to do so this time.

This looks a wide-open handicap but there is plenty to like about the chances of MY BROTHER MIKE, who scored off 3lb lower over Wolverhampton's extended mile two starts ago and has two wins at this venue to his name. Reputation landed a similar C&D contest in November and is only 2lb higher now, while Arika has slipped to a feasible mark and the drop to 7f should suit.

ARIKA's maiden status is off-putting but he starts out for a new yard going well and could be worth siding with to break his duck returning from 104 days off. Ring of Gold, who is lurking on a handy mark, and Reputation are a couple of others to consider.

This looks open and it's worth taking a chance on ARIKA, who represents the in-form Karl Burke team and may have untapped potential.

RUBELLITE comes out best on official ratings and she arrives on the back of a victory over an extended 1m at Newcastle 12 days ago, so Stella Barclay's mare looks set to make a bold bid for the double. She could have most to fear from High Court Judge, who has also already scored this year, over 1m4f at Wolverhampton, and represents an in-form yard. Recorwoman looks best of the rest.

HIGH COURT JUDGE isn't long with his current stable and did well to get up at Wolverhampton, so he takes preference over Rubellite, who also scored cosily last time. The remainder are out of form and it's likely to be fought out by that pair.

Little to choose between the last-time winners High Court Ridge and RUBELLITE, with the latter just preferred receiving 5lb.

The application of a visor has spark notable improvement in BUSBY, who narrowly failed to follow up a victory over 1m4f here when runner-up at Newcastle off his revised mark. Philip Kirby's gelding should go well on his return to this venue, while although he has give Letmeseethecolts 2lb despite the latter being rated 1lb higher and Brian Ellison's filly has been threatening to score. Back From Dubai and Stand Free are not out of it either.

Having scored here in December, BUSBY was just worn down late at Newcastle 12 days ago, and he's worth a chance to get back to winning ways in a race that lacks depth. Letmeseethecolts is the only one of the opponents to arrive in form, so she's the main threat, although market support for Back From Dubai would be significant.

The veteran Busby has another big run in him if the visor continues to work but the much less exposed LETMESEETHECOLTS is preferred.

DANCE TIME scored by just over a length over track and trip on her latest outing and a 2lb rise might prove to be on the lenient side. David Loughnane's five-year-old has lots in her favour and she will prove very difficult to beat. Haaland finished a close-up third at Kempton six days ago and this drop in grade will aid her cause. Of the remainder, handicap debutante Comte De Loir makes the most appeal.

DANCE TIME is building up an excellent record over this trip and, having had something to spare over C&D late in December, she may well be up to defying a small rise. Haaland and Two Auld Pals are both serious dangers.

Two Auld Pals and Dance Time (next best) are respected but narrow preference is for HAALAND after two good runs for this yard.

Marinakis shed his maiden tag in a classified stakes at Chelmsford last week and should mount a bold bid back in the handicap ranks, despite his 5lb penalty. However, the vote goes to RETRACTION, who has made the frame on each of his last three starts, including over C&D three starts ago. Ruth Carr's five-year-old goes off the same mark as his most recent third at Wolverhampton and could be rewarded for his consistency. Charlatan is another to keep an eye on.

MARINAKIS is unexposed over this distance and, having justified strong support last week at Chelmsford, he's worth a chance to go in again for all that Retraction looks a big player having shaped well at Wolverhampton a month ago. Charlatan is another one to consider.

Plenty are in with a shout but RETRACTION (nap) is taken to build on his very good Wolverhampton third and gain a deserved first win.
Ths is the racecard key.
