AMAYSMONT's hat-trick bid fell flat at Redcar in May, but he has been more prolific on the all-weather and should have benefitted from a short break. Kevin Frost's charge remains well handicapped judged on past exploits and it would come as no surprise were he to bounce back. Mambha struck the woodwork at Carlisle last time out and is entitled to go well on that evidence, while any market support for Sir Mark Prescott's handicap debutant Angel Pass should be noted.

A first taste of success beckons for KRISTAL KLEAR, who wasn't beaten at all far at Newcastle earlier this month and she continues to edge down the weights. Things didn't go Amaysmont's way when bidding for the hat-trick at Redcar and he is feared back on the all-weather, while confidence behind handicap debutante Angel Pass in the betting would naturally be interesting. Overnight Oats is also worth a second look.

It may be worth giving another chance to KRISTAL KLEAR who is well treated on her near miss at Newcastle in April.

Phoenix Of Dreams has been knocking on the door recently and although he would be a deserving winner, SMART HERO might prove too strong. The gelded son of Shamardal, who sets the standard with an official rating of 82, pulled well clear with the winner when runner-up at Sandown on his first start following wind surgery. Dropped both in trip and into maiden company, he is the one to beat. Inherit is noted, as is the William Haggas-trained debutant Mockirr.

SMART HERO went close on his first start since being gelded/undergoing a wind operation at Sandown and he is taken to go one better here. He may have most to fear from likely-looking newcomer Mockirr but Walson's Law is also of interest given his scope for improvement, a remark which also applies to both Brakeman and Miami Hills.

Phoenix Of Dreams can go well but SMART HERO could have his measure in a race in which most can be overlooked.

LIGHT UP OUR STARS failed to see out 1m2f at Pontefract recently, but the locally-trained gelding will be more at home back over a mile and, from a competitive mark, can regain the winning sequence. Ring of Light continues to run well in defeat and he is a worthy adversary as his handicap rating continues to fall. Style Of Life has two wins from her three starts on the all-weather and she is another to consider.

LIGHT UP OUR STARS scored here last month then seemed stretched by the trip at Pontefract next time so, back to more favourable conditions, he's fancied to get back to winning ways at the possible expense of Style of Life, who shaped well recently. Beyond Words is an interesting handicap debutant.

This is open but perhaps FOOLS RUSH IN can take advantage of a major drop in the weights now back on the AW.

FLYING SECRET may be winless since June last year, but he hinted at a return to form when not getting the clearest of runs and eventually finishing fourth at Chepstow last time out. Stepping up to 1m looks like a good move and he is preferred to recent Thirsk third L'Argent and Embarked, who has done very well without getting his head in front since joining new connections. Chagall has dropped 3lb below his last winning mark, while Thanks Dad is another to note following a respectable effort here last time out.

L'ARGENT is on a handy mark and has shaped like he's ready to capitalise recently, not getting a clear run when third at Thirsk a fortnight ago, so he's well worth taking a chance on. Embarked and his stablemate Thanks Dad both strike as feasible dangers.

Embarked can make another bold bid but MERCURIUS POWER may be the answer.

A respectable third when bumped and slightly hampered at Redcar last time out, THE GREY LASS should appreciate a return to this track, having scored over C&D on her penultimate outing. The five-year-old has operated off higher marks in the past, and it may be that unexposed handicap debutant Doralee gives her the most to think about. On his first start for new connections, Howzak should be considered, along with Jack Of Clubs and Musical Diva.

CRYPTO QUEST has a poor run to put behind him but this is just his second outing for a stable that does well at this track, so he's worth taking a chance on. Howzak is a danger on first outing for a new yard and Jack of Clubs can take a hand if back to the form he showed when successful at Beverley on his penultimate outing.

Jack Of Clubs can be involved if getting it right at the start but the unexposed DORALEE (nap) can make a winning handicap debut.

CALDWELL has won over hurdles since scoring over this course and distance in February. He drops in trip after a good effort back on the Flat at Newcastle and Jennie Candlish's yard has been among the winners in the past week. Squeezebox spoilt his chance when failing to settle at Newbury, but can feature with a repeat of his second at Haydock in May, while Swinging London went close at Pontefract when last seen racing over today's trip and is not out of this either.

SQUEEZEBOX didn't fire last time but his previous effort was encouraging and he's on an appealing mark, so he gets the tentative vote in a weak race. Caldwell is a danger and Turner Girl can take a hand if the blinkers have a positive effect.

It could pay to chance TURNER GIRL who has benefited from a change of headgear in the past and she has form here.

Luke Morris could afford to ease down OVERTURE in the closing stages at Nottingham and still win by a wide margin last week. The New Approach filly is clearly on the upgrade and she can defy a 6lb penalty to complete a hat-trick. Alacrity should make a race of it despite a 3lb rise for a cosy win over today's distance at Kempton, while Mildyjama won off a higher mark at Kempton at this time last year and is preferred to Polar Princess of the remaining pair.

Three-year -olds OVERTURE and Alacrity are going the right way and are expected to fight out the finish, with preference for the first-named, who looks to have the most potential of the pair. Mildyjama should give her running.

Preference is for ALACRITY who is 2-3 on the AW and her game success at Kempton last time suggested there may still be more to come.
Ths is the racecard key.
