1st (4) (4/1 -14%)Opera Wave |
4/1(-14%) | (4) Opera Wave 4/1, Returned to form down in grade on handicap debut when beaten a head off 64 over 10f at Newmarket (July) last time; effective at 10f and probably has more to come in handicaps over further. Went close on 1m2f Newmarket handicap debut and slightly longer trip now may help. |

5/6(+70%) | (6) Night Tara 5/6, Yard won this last year; scored by a short-head off 57 over 10f at Chelmsford on penultimate start; effective at 10f with more to come, likely to improve for further than 10f. Won on 1m2f Chelmsford handicap debut; shaped well there on Saturday; the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7/1 -56%)Mystical Maria |
7/1(-56%) | (3) Mystical Maria 7/1, Ran to form when justifying strong support landing a handicap by a neck off 57 over 10f at Redcar last time; effective at 9/10f and remains fairly treated on best form. Edged out Princess Niyla at Redcar 12 days ago; should remain competitive after 2lb nudge. |

7th (5) (14/1 -211%)Bay Dream Believer |
14/1(-211%) | (5) Bay Dream Believer 14/1, Well treated up 2lb, ran to form showing a willing attitude when landing a handicap by 3/4l off 61 over 10f at Ripon last time; usually held up and thriving at present. Three 1m2f wins on turf in August; 0-6 on AW but does have lower mark in this sphere. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Bay Dream Believer has won on her last three outings and stayed on strongly to score twice at Ripon last month, although she has had six starts on the all-weather without a place. She might still prove the biggest danger to NIGHT TARA, who is trained by last year's winning handler Sir Mark Prescott. Second when attempting to complete a Chelmsford brace, despite racing wide, she can go one better now upped in trip. Princess Niyla was beaten a neck at Redcar and is another to consider.

Although NIGHT TARA (nap) found one too good over 1m2f at Chelmsford on Saturday there was still plenty to like about the run.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With the Crisford horses in good form, a big run is on the cards from Fiery Damsel, a daughter of Too Darn Hot who is one to watch on her first appearance. Jumeirah Sands was strongly fancied before missing the start and finishing fifth at Wolverhampton. She could do a lot better, but INSIDE STORY is the form choice. Fifth on her debut but only beaten a half-length since when second at Kempton, slight improvement may be all she needs.

It's hard to get away from INSIDE STORY who pushed the subsequent Lowther fourth close on her second start two months ago.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DAVORGE NATION is the obvious pick, despite carrying a 6lb penalty, as he is due to go up a further 2lb for future contests. Running on well at Musselburgh last week, he was a length clear at the line, with the third a long way back, and there is every chance the sixth furlong will see him in an even better light. Spartacus Warrior is interesting dropping back in trip after his Beverley second, while White Ladder is better than he showed last time out.

Davorge Nation and Madam Mali are interesting but SPARTACUS FORCE shaped at Beverley as if he would be suited by this trip.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Urban Dandy hasn't finished outside the top two in any of his last five starts, winning once, and is likely to be thereabouts again. Hint Of The Jungle competes off a career-low rating and needs considering, but ASADJUMEIRAH bounced back to form when making the frame at Redcar and has been dropped 1lb. With a similar display, Antony Brittain's charge could be the one to beat.

No News is second choice behind PIPERSTOWN who is back on his last winning mark having been dropped 2lb for his latest effort.

Sapphire Princess has shown ability in each of her four outings and finished second when making her first appearance for the Ollie Sangster stable at Ayr. She can get involved again, but it may pay to side with SECRET SONATA. Andrew Balding's filly progressed from her introduction to occupy the runner-up berth at Carlisle last month and the extra furlong could bring about the improvement required. Empire Power completes the shortlist.

A final chance is given to SAPPHIRE PRINCESS now returning to 7f. Secret Sonata is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Saisons D'Or returned to winning ways at Catterick and should go well off a 3lb higher rating for the in-form Jedd O'Keeffe stable. However, THORNTONLEDALE MAX produced a better effort when filling the runner-up spot at Lingfield last week and goes off the same mark. As long as the four-year-old can back that performance up, he will prove hard to beat. Outrun The Storm heads the remainder.

Thorntonledale Max is second choice but CLIFFCAKE is only 1lb higher than when winning over 6f here in February.

After successes at Wolverhampton and Kempton, Popeye Doyle has proven to be versatile regarding the surface and course orientation. Quite whether he can cope with another 6lb rise is the big question on his first visit to Southwell. With that in mind, it can pay to go with TIEMPO ALEGRE, who registered a comfortable C&D triumph before almost repeating the feat 10 days ago. Due a 2lb rise, this is a good time to catch Jack Jones' filly. Pearly Squirrel and Antiquity complete the shortlist.

Tiempo Alegre (second choice) likes it here but POPEYE DOYLE is selected to make it 3-3 since the cheekpieces were applied.

Three-time winner but has very weak form claims on what he's shown this year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Ribston Pippin was the top-rated horse in the classified stakes he won at Yarmouth last month and reverts to handicapping on a feasible enough mark to be a key player. Nevertheless, it's worth considering that he was getting 7lb from BEAUTIFUL DAWN, who was a close third in that race. Armed with a 5lb pull, James Owen's filly can turn the form around. Coloane, Elvetham and Tootsie are others to consider in a competitive race for the grade.

A few with chances but RIBSTON PIPPIN has got his act together the last twice and may well improve some more.
Ths is the racecard key.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
