1st (2) (8/11 +55%)Capall Rasa |
8/11(+55%) | (2) Capall Rasa 8/11, Showed big improvement to get off the mark when winning a novice here over 7f by 1 1/2l last time. Effective at 7f, should stay further and has more to offer. Form of his novice win here last month has been boosted; much respected on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/1 -340%)Aleen |
11/1(-340%) | (3) Aleen 11/1, Improved to get off the mark tried in cheekpieces when landing a handicap by 1/2l off 69 at Redcar last time; effective 7/8f, acts on S, G; more to offer but disappointed in one previous run here. Off the mark at Redcar on latest outing but disappointing over this C&D the time before. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/4 +20%)Galileo Island |
6/4(+20%) | (1) Galileo Island 6/4, Ran to form when comfortably landing a handicap by 1/2l off 79 over 7f at Epsom last time. Effective at 7f and steadily progressing; mark looks fair back on all-weather up in trip. Up 3lb in hat-trick bid but dangerous if left alone in front and 1m should be no problem. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (33/1 -200%)Uncertainty |
33/1(-200%) | (4) Uncertainty 33/1, Improved whennbeaten 1 1/4l off 68 over 7f at Lingfield last time; effective 6/7f, acts on GF and AW; seems consistent and fairly weighted. 0-6 for Richard Hannon before £13,500 sale; has ability but she needs to find a bit more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A deceptively trappy affair, with three of the four arriving in winning form and the other finishing second last time out. GALILEO ISLAND has become something of a punters' pal, justifying favouritism at Chelmsford and Epsom, and if he takes to the Tapeta, he can complete his hat-trick. Aleen's only previous visit to Southwell resulted in a costly defeat, whereas Capall Rasa took a big step forward when getting off the mark here and he should appreciate the extra furlong.

This can go to CAPALL RASA whose win here last month has since been handsomely boosted.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (14) (25/1 -25%)Mickey Mongoose |
25/1(-25%) | (14) Mickey Mongoose 25/1, Below form and failed to get home when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap here last time; effective at 7/8f on AW and prefers to make the running. C&D winner; not discredited when fifth over C&D in August; possibilities. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Reputation proved there is plenty of life left in him when getting up at Wolverhampton, although he has never won over a mile. Marry The Night and Francesi have hit the crossbar on their last two starts, while Coloane occupied that position over C&D recently, but the vote goes to HASHTAGNOTIONS. Richard Fahey's three-year-old has been consistent from August onwards and having been collared over 1m2f at Redcar last time, can show his appreciation for the drop in trip.

Richard Fahey's HASHTAGNOTIONS is having an excellent season and taken to bag win number four on the back of a very good Redcar second.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (12/1 +0%)Masham Moor |
12/1(+0%) | (13) Masham Moor 12/1, Ran to form on first run since spring when fourth beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap here latest; effective 8f, acts on AW; unreliable but should come on for return. Off six months before encouraging C&D fourth; this C&D winner merits serious consideration. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (12/1 +25%)Mighty Real |
12/1(+25%) | (14) Mighty Real 12/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off 45 over 7f at Chelmsford last time; effective at 7f; moderate and his mark generally looks too stiff. Still to register a victory but he comes here in decent nick; he's no forlorn hope. |

25/1(-79%) | (9) Candle Of Time 25/1, Below form after a slow start when beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap over 7f at Leicester last time; suited by 8f; remains on a competitive mark. Below-par eighth at Leicester in September for Julie Camacho; not ruled out for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Heretic saves his best for this circuit and backed up a C&D win back over track and trip a week later. The runner-up got much closer to him than she did before, though, so maybe a further 3lb rise will find him out and AMBER HONEY is preferred. Ed Dunlop's filly didn't settle over the extended mile at Wolverhampton, but she had been in consistent form prior and can register a deserved success. Harswell Duke's all-weather record isn't great, but he finished second here from 7lb higher back in May.

Lots with chances but MASHAM MOOR teed himself up well for a fourth C&D win when a promising fourth here on his recent return.

10/1(-11%) | (4) Interstate 10/1, Moderate debut when well beaten in a novice over 7f at Kempton on his only start. Trainer in form and bred for 8-10f, so can surely do better. Always behind on last month's Kempton debut, but is bred to be better than that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (22/1 -22%)Magnetude |
22/1(-22%) | (7) Magnetude 22/1, Ran to a similar modest level to debut when fourth, beaten 8l, in a maiden over 10f at Chelmsford latest. Bred to want 8-10f and should do better again. Held in both starts; stable won this with a twice-raced juvenile for same owners last year. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (2/1 +33%)Ensor Mews |
2/1(+33%) | (3) Ensor Mews 2/1, 23 Mar; 100,000gns New Bay gelding; dam related to a useful 7f 2yo scorer; top trainer; clearly a newcomer of significant potential. Stable's record both with 2yo newcomers and at this track makes him appealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (15/2 -25%)Rumbustious |
15/2(-25%) | (9) Rumbustious 15/2, 26 Feb; Dubawi colt; half-brother to Uncle Bryn, high-class at 7f; dam high-class at 10f; trainer more than capable of readying one; interesting. Plenty to like on breeding and stable can get them ready first time; market revealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (12/1 -85%)Killer Whale |
12/1(-85%) | (6) Killer Whale 12/1, 6 Feb; Dark Angel gelding; dam very useful from 12f to 18f, winning the Cesarewitch; top trainer; respected on debut, although chance he'll want further. Market support would be interesting, but pedigree suggests he may need a stiffer test. |

8th (5) (200/1 -33%)Just Call Me Mo |
200/1(-33%) | (5) Just Call Me Mo 200/1, Again ran to a poor level when finishing down the field in a maiden at Nottingham most recently. Bred for 8-12f and may need more time. Well beaten in both starts; handicaps over further may be more suitable after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (5/2 -43%)Oathbound |
5/2(-43%) | (8) Oathbound 5/2, Fair debut when beaten 9l in a novice at Newbury. Should be effective from 8f to 10f with improvement forthcoming. Green on his Newbury debut; should do better, though his sire has never had a winner here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (200/1 -33%)Cartrefle |
200/1(-33%) | (1) Cartrefle 200/1, Poor debut when well beaten in a novice over 9f at Redcar on his only start. Bred to be effective from 7f to 8f or further and may need more time. Tailed-off last on his Redcar debut; hard to recommend. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

OATHBOUND looked in need of the experience when debuting in fifth at Newbury and he makes plenty of appeal dropping in class. The son of Kameko is not expected to have any issues with Tapeta and rates as the one to beat. Tewkesbury is closely related to smart stablemate Telemark and market support on his opening bid must be noted. Fellow newcomer Ensor Mews cannot be ruled out either.

Ralph Beckett's ENSOR MEWS may prove the answer given the stable's record both with 2yo newcomers and at this track.

Bids for a C&D hat-trick from a 3lb higher mark, but still favourably treated on old form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (5/1 +29%)Prince Of Pillo |
5/1(+29%) | (3) Prince Of Pillo 5/1, Finished well and ran to form when beaten 2 1/2l off 83 here last time; effective at 6f and handles the surface; good effort off this mark latest. First and second in two starts over C&D; drawn wide but respected nonetheless. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although SOLVENCY finished last for Aidan Melia at Dundalk, he could prove just the sort James Owen excels with. The three-year-old son of Ardad was progressive when in the hands of Alice Haynes during the latter part of 2024 and an official rating of 79 looks exploitable. Fellow stable debutant No Return is also high on the shortlist, along with the hat-trick seeking Ararat.

The vote goes to ARARAT who remains favourably treated on previous form and is taken to complete a C&D hat-trick.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (9/1 -13%)Earnest Belief |
9/1(-13%) | (10) Earnest Belief 9/1, Below form, found little, may have needed the run when well beaten in a 1m6f handicap at Wolverhampton last time; trainer in form; effective 11-14f, acts on all-weather; could be sharper this time in blinkers. 0-5; this even stiffer test may suit him, but he isn't convincing; blinkers on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (25/1 -79%)Zoran |
25/1(-79%) | (6) Zoran 25/1, Pulled up in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter last time; enjoys making the running; returning from a break; effective up to 16f, acts on all-weather; faces a tough task here. Back off last winning mark, but hasn't been seen since pulling up over hurdles in June. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (17/2 +15%)Weddell Sea |
17/2(+15%) | (8) Weddell Sea 17/2, Ran to form when second, beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; suited by 16f, acts on all-weather; generally consistent performer. Has a good record over 2m at Newcastle, but not so good in one visit here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (40/1 -122%)In The Breeze |
40/1(-122%) | (2) In The Breeze 40/1, Scored by 2l off 78 over 12f at Pontefract three starts back; ran below best and didn't stay when fourth last time; top course trainer; effective 10-12f, acts on all-weather; fair mark but something to prove at the trip. Has never attempted this far before and unplaced in five completed starts on the AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (15/8 +32%)Berkshire Sundance |
15/8(+32%) | (1) Berkshire Sundance 15/8, Well placed, ran to form despite an absence when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off a mark of 80 at York last time; effective up to 16f, acts on all-weather; a 5yo on the up with a good chance. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (25/1 -213%)Robusto |
25/1(-213%) | (5) Robusto 25/1, Made too much use of the pace and ran below form when beaten 6 1/2l in a 1m6f handicap at Salisbury last time; effective around 12-14f, acts on all-weather; may need this run. Has a good record fresh, but has been well beaten in both goes over this C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (40/1 -122%)Seeking Charles |
40/1(-122%) | (9) Seeking Charles 40/1, Returned to form when beaten 1 1/2l off 68 over 12f at Newbury last time; effective at 12f, acts on all-weather; the step up to staying trips could suit. 0-6 but has shown ability on turf; has a bit to prove stepping up half a mile in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The hat-trick seeking New York Minute merits respect after bolting up over C&D, but a 12lb hike in the handicap may prove excessive. With that in mind, Joey Ramsden's stable debutant may be worth taking on and BERKSHIRE SUNDANCE could be the way to go. The five-year-old is only 4lb higher than for his latest triumph in a 16-runner affair at York and looks progressive. Reopposing second Ribble Vibe is feared most.

Despite a change of stable NEW YORK MINUTE is taken to defy a 12lb hike in the weights for his 14l romp over C&D last month.

9th (4) (33/1 -32%)Montu |
33/1(-32%) | (4) Montu 33/1, Modest debut when well beaten in a maiden over 6f at Doncaster on only start; bred for middle distances, so drop in trip looks a negative. Well beaten on his Doncaster debut 12 days ago; dropping in trip wouldn't look a positive. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SAXON PRINCE looked all at sea on his racecourse bow, so it was to his credit that he was able to keep on into third behind a couple of Ollie Sangster inmates. The winner could be very smart and there wouldn't appear to be anything of a similar calibre lining up here, so he should go close granted natural improvement. Marcellinus has finished third on both starts and looks likely to benefit from a drop in trip. Market support for Hardstyle or Harmonised will need to be taken seriously.

Preference is for MARCELLINUS who may be suited by the drop in trip having shown good speed in twice finishing third over 6f on turf.

Has become very hard to win with and has only been placed once in 14 starts on the AW. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (28/1 +0%)Alex The Great |
28/1(+0%) | (3) Alex The Great 28/1, Too keen and again below spring level when well beaten in a 12f handicap at Wolverhampton latest; effective from 14f to 16f; mark looks stiff. Back off last winning mark and has won over C&D; market support would be significant. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Young Endless (winner) and Fashionelle (second) renew their rivalry having squared off over the extended 2m here recently. The pair are unlikely to be separated by much again, but a confident vote goes to NUNC EST BIBENDUM. The daughter of Masar posted her finest effort for the yard when third over C&D three weeks ago, despite being short of room on several occasions. Hector Crouch is an interesting jockey booking and she remains open to a bit more improvement. Mio Amico is worth a second look too.

This may rest between old rivals YOUNG ENDLESS and Fashionelle, with the former taken to confirm recent course placings.

80/1(-789%) | (5) Three Dons 80/1, Ran to form despite early trouble when fourth beaten 12l in a handicap at Catterick latest; effective 12f; below last winning mark. Sole win in 25 starts on AW was when the winner was disqualified for a banned substance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LITTLE MISS INDIA hasn't been in the care of James Owen for all that long, but has a win and two second-placed efforts to her name since making the move. She lost little in defeat when beaten by an in-form rival last time and looks to have been found a good opportunity. Appier relished a return to the all-weather when on target at Wolverhampton, and don't rule out the selection's stablemate Cannon Rock, who has plummeted down the weights.

The choice is GIFTED ANGEL (nap) who made a promising return from a year off at Chelmsford three weeks ago and races off the same mark.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
