|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

11/4(+17%) | (4) Von Trotter 11/4, Promising debut when runner-up beaten 3 1/2l in a novice at Newcastle only start; effective at 6f; down in trip but good chance. Promising 2nd on Newcastle debut four weeks ago; that form not boosted but can do better. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (5/1 +17%)Riley Rocks |
5/1(+17%) | (1) Riley Rocks 5/1, 22 Apr; 52,000gns Sergei Prokofiev colt; half-brother to Tenaya Canyon, useful at 6f; dam smart at 5f as a 2yo; could play a role on debut. 52,000gns yearling; from a speedy family and starts out in a modest event; interesting. |

50/1(+0%) | (5) Blueaway 50/1, No chance after lost 10l start, credible effort considering in a novice at Kempton only start; speedily bred and open to improvement. Blew the start and never competitive on this month's Kempton debut (6f); bred to do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (7/2 -5%)Saxon Prince |
7/2(-5%) | (2) Saxon Prince 7/2, Confirmed debut promise when beaten 3l in a novice here last time; tongue-tie first time; effective at 5f; bounce back needed in first-time tongue-tie. Two runs over C&D, shaping okay on each occasion; now tongue tied; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (20/1 -208%)Ealhswith |
20/1(-208%) | (6) Ealhswith 20/1, Raced too freely when beaten 9l in a novice at Chelmsford last time; sire sprinter, dam stayed 11f; small, needs to settle and looks like one of top yard's lesser lights. Modest form in two 6f fillies' events 194 days apart; now drops in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (150/1 -275%)Exhibition Match |
150/1(-275%) | (7) Exhibition Match 150/1, Poor effort when well beaten in a novice at Wolverhampton only start; bred for 6f; hood now tried, needs massive improvement. 33-1, slow away and always in rear in a 5f novice at Wolverhampton last month; now hooded. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Von Trotter surpassed market expectations to occupy the runner-up berth on his Newcastle introduction and raced keenly so should appreciate the drop from 6f. The application of a tongue-tie could help Saxon Prince take the necessary step forward, but SOUND AND VISION is getting better with racing and finished third over this trip at Newcastle. If she can just take up a position closer to the early pace, she will be hard to hold out.

Saxon Prince appeals most of those with experience but the speedily bred RILEY ROCKS could be worth chancing on debut.

16/1(-60%) | (9) Blue Siam 16/1, Improved up in trip when beaten 3l off this mark at Newcastle last time. Off a short break; effective from 8f to 12f and acts on all-weather. Not that resolute, though this trip may suit. Well handicapped on form as recent as July but struggling more recently; stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (13/2 +54%)Lahire |
13/2(+54%) | (3) Lahire 13/2, Bit below form and just outlasted when 9 1/4l third in a handicap here most recently. Off a short break; effective at 12f and acts on all-weather. Won at Chelmsford on first run since being gelded and good third at Lingfield since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (100/1 -25%)Lawmans Blis |
100/1(-25%) | (10) Lawmans Blis 100/1, Again well below form, this time tried in a visor, when down the field in a handicap at Newcastle most recent. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Mr Zippi burst back into life at Newcastle last week but he needs to prove that wasn't a fluke and, in any case, his penalty takes him 2lb above his new mark. ELECTRIC BASS appeared to be rewarded for some fine efforts in defeat at Kempton, only to lose a share of the spoils in the stewards' room. He then performed below expectations at Wolverhampton, but can be forgiven that and gets another chance. Taranjerine, Edwardtheninth and Blue Siam have to enter the equation too.

The lightly raced 3yo MIO AMICO was a close fourth over C&D last month and is taken to get off the mark today.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (25/1 -39%)Katalyst |
25/1(-39%) | (4) Katalyst 25/1, Hung and weakened when comfortably held in a maiden at Wolverhampton last time, though had been in good form before that. Effective at 7f, acts on the all-weather, and may do better now handicapping. Some promise 2nd/3rd starts but well held latest; tail flasher; up to 1m for h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

13/2(+7%) | (2) India Gold 13/2, Showed big improvement tried in a hood when winning a maiden at Musselburgh by 1/2l last time. Effective from 6f to 8f, handles good and all-weather ground, and may have more to offer in handicaps. Improved for hood/soft ground at Musselburgh last month (7f); up 10lb; may progress again. |

14/1(-75%) | (9) Farabove The Limit 14/1, Much better with blinkers removed when beaten 2 1/2l off a 1lb higher mark at Newcastle last time. Effective at 8f on the all-weather and has a chance if building on that latest effort. Third of seven on last month's stable debut (1m, AW); may have more to come but needs it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (11/2 -10%)Stay Sharp |
11/2(-10%) | (7) Stay Sharp 11/2, Scored by 1 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Yarmouth penultimate start; ran to form last time; cheekpieces first time; effective 7f, acts on G, GF, AW; can go well again. 7f turf win in October; fair third over 7f here three weeks ago; new trip/headgear today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Emma's Letter has been in the thick of the action since a terrible debut and is fancied more than India Gold, who caused a 40/1 shock at Musselburgh. Stay Sharp and Archangel Josepi have claims, but there are a couple of interesting nursery newcomers lurking among the opposition. The application of blinkers should help 110,000gns yearling FLORIDA SUITE harness her true potential and she is preferred to Prancy Peer, who is out of a half-sister to two Classic winners.

Unexposed at a mile, ARCHANGEL JOSEPI can confirm the promise of his latest Newcastle second. My Shagaf may be best of the rest.

No impact in two 6f runs this winter; stepping up in trip not enough to tempt this time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

There are some interesting newcomers going to post here, most notably Ada Rose and Helga, but experience can win the day and RITAAL is the one to be on. She has bumped into a couple of nice prospects in twice finishing second at Wolverhampton and can make it third-time lucky. Chelmsford third Safe Harbor is another to keep an eye on.

This looks ripe for a newcomer and although PENDELLA is drawn wide, she's preferred to Ada Rose.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (25/1 -150%)Spirit Of Bowland |
25/1(-150%) | (4) Spirit Of Bowland 25/1, Took another step backwards when well beaten in a handicap here last time. Effective from 7f to 9f on the all-weather, but his form has been regressing. Only 1lb higher than for easy C&D win in April; quiet of late but revival quite possible. |

20/1(-135%) | (6) Kodebreaker 20/1, Better than the result suggested when making late headway despite a troubled run, beaten a length off a 3lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (7/1 -75%)Von Krolock |
7/1(-75%) | (1) Von Krolock 7/1, Returned to form in a first-time visor when winning a handicap by a short head off a 3lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective from 6f to 7f and acts on all-weather. Can go well for this in-form yard. 7f win at Wolverhampton last month but weakened over 7f here yesterday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 -122%)Dash Power |
20/1(-122%) | (7) Dash Power 20/1, Travelled well and ran to his recent best in reapplied blinkers when beaten 3l off this mark at Wolverhampton last time. Effective at 8f to 9f on the all-weather. Needs to back up that latest effort. Chased home R P McMurphy at Wolverhampton two weeks ago; 5lb turnaround may not be enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (22/1 +21%)Mickey Mongoose |
22/1(+21%) | (8) Mickey Mongoose 22/1, Off the pace and never involved when beaten 8l in a handicap here last time. Wears cheekpieces for the first time. Effective from 7f to 8f on a sound surface. 40/1(-100%) | (10) Invincible Storm 40/1, Produced his best run since summer when beaten 4l off this mark at Lingfield last time. Effective from 7f to 8f and acts on the all-weather. An exposed maiden but at least ran well latest. Inconsistent 17-race maiden; latest run was okay but not certain to build on it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (100/1 -52%)Rohilla |
100/1(-52%) | (9) Rohilla 100/1, Again ran poorly after a slow start when finishing down the field in a handicap at Wolverhampton most recently. Returns from a short break. Effective at 10f on a sound surface but remains out of form. Modest maiden; recent efforts don't suggest she is about to break her duck. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

C&D winner Kodebreaker was back to form with a second at Wolverhampton last time out and is noted along with Imola. A confident vote, though, is for R P MCMURPHY, who justified market support when getting off the mark at Dunstall Park a fortnight ago. He was really impressive that day and likely has a lot more in the locker.

Ribston Pippin can go well back down in trip but R P MCMURPHY (nap), unexposed and progressive, can make light of his 5lb rise.

1/1(+27%) | (1) Latin 1/1, Scored by 1 1/2l off a 2lb higher mark at Bath in September and again ran to form when third last time. Effective from 7f to 10f and acts on all-weather. The drop in trip may suit this versatile sort, who holds a good chance. Reliable handicapper but 0-14 on AW; more minor money perhaps the likeliest scenario. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/2 +22%)Timely Affair |
7/2(+22%) | (5) Timely Affair 7/2, Again ran to a moderate level when finishing down the field in a maiden at Windsor last time. Yet to find suitable conditions but could show improvement now entering handicaps. Poor turf form in May/June but bred to do better; likely improver now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

8/1(-78%) | (2) Volendam 8/1, Took a step back in the right direction when beaten 3l off this mark at Lingfield last time. Effective from 5f to 8f and acts on all-weather. Respected off this unchanged mark. 0-9 but two promising runs for Tony Carroll; capable of winning a similar race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

25/1(+11%) | (7) Hey Crackers 25/1, Below form after not getting a clear run when beaten 6 1/2l in a Newcastle handicap last time. Yet to encounter ideal conditions and needs to improve to feature. Low-grade maiden but latest run (June) threatened better; had wind op since; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (13/2 +7%)Al Baahy |
13/2(+7%) | (4) Al Baahy 13/2, Took a step back in the right direction when beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark at Wolverhampton last time. The trainer is in form. Effective from 7f to 9f and acts on all-weather. Down again in the weights but without a win since 2023. Just one win from 41 starts; conditions should be fine but easy enough to look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (8/1 -23%)Ring Of Gold |
8/1(-23%) | (3) Ring Of Gold 8/1, Scored by a neck off a 1lb lower mark at Newcastle three starts ago and was slightly below form last time. Effective at 7f to 8f and handles all-weather. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (50/1 +0%)Ciara Storm |
50/1(+0%) | (9) Ciara Storm 50/1, Found little and ran well below form when down the field in a handicap here most recently. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time. Effective at 8f to 10f and acts on all-weather but remains a poor maiden facing a tough task. 20-race maiden for whom it is difficult to make a compelling case for; new headgear today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (80/1 -100%)Sogannie |
80/1(-100%) | (8) Sogannie 80/1, Showed little on handicap debut when down the field in a Newcastle handicap most recently. Effective at 7f and handles all-weather. Needs the step up in trip to bring about improvement. Low-key handicap debut three weeks ago (7f, Tapeta); no solid form; hard to fancy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

There would be no more deserving winner than LATIN, who really should have more than one success on his CV. That victory came at Bath in September, since when he has hit the crossbar three times before finishing third at Lingfield on Monday. He invariably attracts market attention and will probably do so again, but this time can reward it. Volendam, Ring Of Gold and Al Baahy are feared most.

Latin looks set to go well again but this could the day that VOLENDAM sheds her maiden tag.

1st (2) (5/6 +63%)Towerlands |
5/6(+63%) | (2) Towerlands 5/6, Improved again to win a handicap by a head off a 6lb lower mark at Lingfield last time. Effective from 7f to 8f and acts on this surface. Raised in the weights but arrives in good order. Another hat-trick seeker and one of the wins was over C&D; 3lb wrong under a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (2/1 -23%)Priapos |
2/1(-23%) | (1) Priapos 2/1, Ran to form when finishing strongly to win a handicap by 1 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Newcastle last time. The trainer is in form and the colt is effective from 6f to 8f. A penalty makes this tougher but he remains in fine form. Chases hat-trick after two 1m wins at Newcastle; 1lb wrong under penalty; unexposed at 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (10/1 -82%)Lexington Jet |
10/1(-82%) | (5) Lexington Jet 10/1, A bit below his best when beaten 3l off this mark at Kempton last time in cheekpieces. Effective at 7f and best on the all-weather. Regular hood added to cheekpieces; needs to find more to break his maiden. Still seeking his first win but he has shown promise and stepping up to 1m could help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/1 +13%)Thiscouldbefun |
7/1(+13%) | (3) Thiscouldbefun 7/1, Won by 2 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Lingfield on her penultimate start and ran close to form last time. Effective from 7f to 8f and handles any surface. Needs a bit more off this higher mark. Two 1m wins this year; only 6th behind Towerlands 11 days ago; needs a career best to win. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Towerlands proved his 22/1 C&D triumph was no fluke when following up at Lingfield, with Thiscouldbefun and Riyadh Gem trailing in his wake. However, it's possible that fellow hat-trick seeker PRIAPOS is slightly better treated under his penalty. The Phillip Makin-trained gelding has improved no end since running behind Towerlands here back in October, completing a Newcastle brace, and can continue on his upward curve.

Hat-trick seekers Priapos and Towerlands have obvious claims but stepping up in trip could see LEXINGTON JET break his duck.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/4 +10%)Mumayaz |
9/4(+10%) | (2) Mumayaz 9/4, Won by a length off a 4lb lower mark here on his penultimate start but was slightly below form last time. Effective over 5-7f and acts on the all-weather; needs more to defy this mark. 6f win here last month; never dangerous at Wolverhampton on Monday but ran okay; contender. |

7/2(+71%) | (1) Federal Envoy 7/2, Below form when finishing down the field in a handicap here most recently. Effective at 7f with best form coming on the all-weather, but needs to bounce back. All three wins over C&D and on a good mark; this is easier than last time; should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (13/2 -8%)Maximising |
13/2(-8%) | (3) Maximising 13/2, Improved but may have been flattered when 4l third in a maiden at Yarmouth on latest start. Trainer in form; effective at 7f and could have more to offer now handicapping. Improved 3rd at Yarmouth in July (7f, good); needs more now handicapping but it's possible. |

Returning from a break; effective at 7f; novice form may flatter and down in the weights. Struggled in stronger handicaps since his novice win; drops in class; not fully exposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (18/1 -50%)Looks Fantastic |
18/1(-50%) | (7) Looks Fantastic 18/1, In trouble a long way out when beaten 8 1/4l in a Wolverhampton handicap last time. Trained by a top course trainer; off a short break; effective over 7-10f on a sound surface but remains erratic. Eight-race maiden; not at best in either run for new yard; others appeal more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Mumayaz reverts to 7f with a shout having scored over a shorter trip here on his penultimate outing. King Of Ithaca showed signs of a return to form when third over C&D, but a chance is taken on MAXIMISING. The son of Circus Maximus posted his best effort so far when third in a decent maiden at Yarmouth back in July and returns to the fray with plenty of scope for improvement now handicapping for the first time.

There was more promise in the latest run of FAR AHEAD than the distance beaten suggests and he can make a successful AW debut.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (12/1 -41%)Dc Cogent |
12/1(-41%) | (7) Dc Cogent 12/1, Bit below best when dropped in trip and beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark here last time. Drawn wide but down 2lb and could go well. Yet to win a handicap and still to prove his stamina for 6f; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (6/1 +50%)I Need Your Love |
6/1(+50%) | (8) I Need Your Love 6/1, Won by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark at Bath two starts ago but below form when fifth back on all-weather last time. Effective at 5/6f and needs to bounce back. Should prove effective on AW in time but he needs to better his latest Newcastle effort. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (9/2 +63%)Phoenix Of Dreams |
9/2(+63%) | (2) Phoenix Of Dreams 9/2, Below form when beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap at Pontefract last time. Returns from a short break after a wind operation. Effective over 6/7f but can be inconsistent and needs to settle better. Had wind op since last seen; down in class but not entirely convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (80/1 -142%)Honour Your Dreams |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Honour Your Dreams 80/1, Below summer best when 7l third in a handicap at Brighton on latest outing. Returning from a break. Effective at 5/6f and now 4lb below last winning mark, so could go well. Yet to shine for new stable and looks up against it in this field. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The application of a visor appeared to work the oracle for AY GEE ELL here a week ago. He won with any amount in hand over the minimum trip and looks worth sticking with given Ethan Tindall's allowance negates a 6lb penalty. Vince Lombardi arrives in fine fettle and looks a safe proposition to run his race once again, while Blackjack and Tokyo Joe could fight it out for the remaining place.

A visor transformed AY GEE ELL here last week and he can make light of his penalty. Vince Lombardi looks best of the rest.
Ths is the racecard key.
