1st (6) (4/1 +64%)Sea Thrift |
4/1(+64%) | (6) Sea Thrift 4/1, Travelled well but still green and hung, running to form yet outstayed late when a 9½l third in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Worcester last time. Effective at around 2½m, may not truly stay 3m, and remains in good form. Placed in a couple of handicaps at Worcester recently but needs a couple to underperform.. |

3rd (4) (20/1 -100%)Liberty Flame |
20/1(-100%) | (4) Liberty Flame 20/1, Outpaced and produced a poor effort back over hurdles when well beaten in a 2m handicap hurdle at Perth last time. 28/1(-12%) | (5) Maxfly D'agrostis 28/1, Outpaced and showed little on debut when comfortably held in a 2m bumper here last time; has plenty to find. Last of six on rules debut in bumper here 24 days ago; hurdles debut.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Although unable to capitalise since scoring in a selling handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot in September, DICKENS has performed with credit on both runner-up efforts at Sedgefield since. The seven-year-old makes plenty of appeal reverting to selling company and a sixth victory over hurdles may beckon. Mohawk Chief would prove a live threat if recapturing his best form and cannot be dismissed, while Sea Thrift may fare best of the remainder.

This looks to be another good opportunity for DICKENS who has been in fine form since joining this yard. Mohawk Chief is the danger.

300/1(-355%) | (8) Nannymooresbridge 300/1, Went clear but did too much too soon and was comfortably held in a Mares' bumper over 2m1f at Sedgefield last time; all to do. Finished a tailed-off last in both bumpers and can only be watched on hurdling debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Followango looked to find 2m too sharp on her return to chasing at Ffos Las in April and she should put her experiences over obstacles to good use. Evan Williams' mare isn't without a chance reverting to a maiden hurdle, but Rules-debutant FIRST CANDIDATE may prove too strong. Dan Skelton's mare ran out a ready winner on her first completed start between the flags in Ireland and market support would increase confidence. A Path To Ronda is also of interest.

Bumper winner A PATH TO RONDA is a half-sister to some smart jumpers and she gets the vote on this switch to hurdling.

WANDERING EGO may not have shown much on his hurdling bow at Perth, but he looked good when scoring easily in a bumper at Worcester and improvement can be expected on his second start in this sphere. A relatively promising third, despite being beaten a long way on his Rules debut at Fontwell, Park Talk is entitled to be thereabouts, as well as French recruit Brace For Landing.

There are some promising sorts on show here and the pick of them may be WANDERING EGO. The main danger is Brace For Landing.

Bumper winners Precious Metal and Quaviste are respected but the vote goes to Irish point winner TAURUS BAY.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The Skelton team landed this contest in 2024, and they can do so once more with chase debutant BE AWARE, who was placed in valuable handicap handicap hurdles at Ascot and Cheltenham last season. Range didn't show much after scoring at Chepstow last November, but softer ground should help on his return to action. Cerendipity and Grandeur D'ame are capable sorts on their day.

Grandeur d'Ame has a very good record when fresh but RANGE may seize the chance to dominate from the front.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MOTAZZEN ran well on his return to hurdling at Fontwell earlier in the month and has to be noted, despite a 1lb rise. Soldier's Leap showed promise when a close third on his first start since a wind op at Huntingdon in February and he has to be noted on his return, while the unexposed Shareyourbiscuits is the pick of the remainder.

This can go to MOTAZZEN (nap), who made very good progress last season and probably took another step forward when second this month.

Seven-race maiden; out of the weights; needs help from new tongue-tie. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having hit the frame on his last two outings at Market Rasen, chase/seasonal debutant JOINING FORCE looks to be on a workable opening mark. Fergal O'Brien's charge wasn't disgraced in two outings between the flags and this could prove a suitable opportunity for him to open his account. A 6lb rise in the ratings for Faitque De L'Isle's victory at Uttoxeter earlier this month shouldn't prevent a bold follow-up bid and he's feared most, ahead of Another Folly.

On a good mark and very unexposed over today's trip, ONEWAYORTOTHER is selected to open his account over fences.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Princess Of Ballea displayed promise on her opening third at Huntingdon earlier this month and she merits respect as the only one with race experience. However, there are some intriguing newcomers on show, with a tentative vote for BROKEN VOW. The daughter of Decorated Knight boasts plenty of speed in her pedigree and market support would increase confidence. Galaxy Star and Doobeedee are others to consider.

Graceful Glance has a good jumping pedigree but Flat-bred filly BROKEN VOW may have more speed and gets the nod.
Ths is the racecard key.
